Thanks Shane! Celtic Frost is from Switzerland. But yeah, these guys pretty much coined the Death Metal term. I first saw these guys (I still remember the date) Jan. 3, 1986 at the Balboa Theater in a seedy part of South LA. The bill was Death Angel, Possessed, D.R.I. and Exodus headlining. (Dark Angel was supposed to play, but I guess they flaked). Great Great show that I still remember today. I thought Possessed stole the show, despite all the bands ripping. During D.R.I. and Exodus' sets, I was still thinking about Possessed's set. They all came out with black leather, spikes, inverted crosses. Jeff Becerra started hollering on the mic: "Allriighht!" screamed other stuff, then they opened with The Exorcist. They effin tore it up that night!
Wow that would have been amazing show to see! What a line up! Also.. celtic frost do one of the worst covers I have ever heard.. that song Mexican Radio from the 80s 🤣🤣🤘
@@ShaneDiablo Haha, yeah Into The Pandemonium had it's bad songs unfortunately. It seemed like Tom Warrior was in experimental overkill-mode, and this album was pre-Cold Lake glam rock Celtic Frost. The album did have great songs Inner Sanctum and Babylon Fell. But unless someone is a diehard Celtic Frost fan, that's a release that won't make it to listen rotations because they didn't stick to what they were great at, like they did on Morbid Tales, Emperor's Return, To Mega Therion.
Love these fellas too. This was one of those bands in my youth along with Venom, Celtic Frost, and Mercyful Fate that was a cassette deck abuser. It was Possessed that introduced me to my fave band Napalm Death. I was at a Tower Records buying a replacement cassette of my worn out Possessed Seven Churches and at the corner of my eye I saw Napalm Death's Harmony Corruption and I bagged it along with the Possessed replacement. As soon as I started listening to Harmony Corruption, I started my Death Metal journey....., 1 year later, I saw my first live gig..Napalm Death, Morbid Angel and Carcass.
On a further note: Mike Torrao (the lead guitarist and pretty much leader of Possessed) released songs under the Possessed name with him singing and a completely changed line up in '93 and put out a demo that's uploaded on youtube. I wish it was on CD because those recordings a badass!
@@ShaneDiablo It's good. I mean it's basically a Possessed cover band featuring Jeff Becerra on vocals. I believe its the East L.A. band Sadistic Intent with Jeff on vocals. IDK man, to me Possessed was the same four guys: Mike Torrao, Jeff Becerra, Mike Sus, and Larry Lalonde, whom all played and recorded on Seven Churches, Beyond The Gates, and The Eyes Of Horror. But, yeah Jeff and his backing band rip on Revelations Of Oblivion. Absolutely.
Shane you should make a public spotify playlist of all the songs you review. It would be awesome! Or, make a "Shane Diablo favorites" compilation public playlist. 🤘🤘
Another great old school thrash band you should check out is the band Cyclone Temple from Chicago. They formed after the original band Znowhite folded. Their best and debut album is considered to be the last golden album of Thrash metal before the grunge era.

That a damn good idea, I'll have to figure that out, thanks Ryan!!

A serious pedigree for sure! Posessed sound like Motorhead, Metallica, Slayer and Venom mixed together to me. Great song. Good choice Shane D.
Larry LaLonde (Primus) on this one?
Spoke too soon... shut up and listen!
Have you watched Zetro’s Toxic Vault channel? It’s awesome.
haven't heard of it, I'll check it out.
