Our MM2H originated in Sarawak years ago, and we purchased a condo in Johor. The MM2H concern that I don't think you mentioned is that _existing_ MM2H holders _Also_ fall under the new requirements. Thus people I have met who have lived - and basically _Purchased Property_ and resettled - in MY are now effectively being kicked out. Their home values may drop and they will have to take a loss. These are the fixed-income MM2H holders, who contributed to the MY economy by consuming AND NOT taking away jobs, that are really getting hit. We all understand making modest modifications to residency programs, but *do you think* this shows the world that MY is not to be trusted? Why would a high-income/ high net-worth individual or family ever consider MY now? The MY government has _already_ proven that they will change the rules, and at any given moment, increase all cost by whatever they want. Whenever they want.
Sorry to hear that. But not to over react with the new rules. Malaysia is a welcoming country and take all feedback seriously. The existing MM2H will be again revised due to criticism. Worst case scenario just join the S-MM2H.
Yes absolutely the federal program has hung a lot of people out to dry. It's really terrible. Sarawak MM2H may be the lifeline for those folks...but of course totally understandable if they would rather just cut their losses and leave.
@@babibrain worst thing to do is go back on your words(contract) and then U turn. What mentality is that ? Are we fools? Who do MY govt take us for ? We are not monkeys
BTW if your a existing MM2H holder I have to redo the whole process over again and NOT get the auto 10 year renewal I was promised. And on top of that the 10 year visa has been cut down to only 5 years! We got thrown under the bus.
@@chrisq.6857 they hold them ransom after taking the benefits off them...now every 5 years...pay more to get less...are we suckers...they think we are daft
@Chris Q, yes this is correct. I wasn't meaning to go over every detail of the new MM2H, but you're correct on both counts. 5 years, and previous holders must meet the new requirements for renewal going forward.
I am curious why the government would bother bringing back MM2H in this form. They don’t actually expect anyone do they? People who meet this high bar can go ANYWHERE so why would they choose a Malaysia that just demonstrated it doesn’t want foreigners?

Hi I _believe_ that after 10 years one would have to reapply, but it should be fairly straightforward and similar to the renewal process. This would be a good question for an agent though!

Once trust is broken it is hard to regain. People can have personal reasons for deciding if a risk is worthwhile or not, but I agree with you that it makes it much harder to trust if you are relying on the Visa program for your retirement years.

Yes, it really is a terrible change from the Malaysian Govt
Forgot to say the mm2h has been reduce from 10 years to 5 years now ....so even less value ....also in s mm2h
They haven't grandfathered the renewals in either ....misleading the previous 50,0000 odd applicants before

If you want to use the S-MM2H option and live in west Malaysia you must spend at least 14 days per year in Sarawak
@@alecschoneveld8456 14days is not a big deal. Sarawak is a wonderful tourism place. Give and take

Would anyone know how many times the visa can be renewed? In the previous video, 2 five year terms were mentioned. Beyond that?

so this 15 days in Sarawak...does it mean person has to stay 15 days inside Sarawak and nor travel around Malaysia?
15 days inside Sarawak, and actually the rules were recently changed to 30 days.
Can you help me to coming with s mm2h.

Unfortunately there is no option at the moment for anyone under 30 years old.

The South Asians you speak of rarely arrive on MM2H. It's ludicrous to suggest the MM2H program has harmed Msia in any way.
