"the game ends with every one of them having a big shirtless fist fight on the roof of a tall building"
Yakuza in a nutshell everyone.
Also pay special attention to this review since this was the very game that sent Yahtzee into a spiral towards jRPGs.
Unrelated, but I love your profile pic
Usually the millennium tower
Let's be honest; who else would play Constable Blimey Chips if it was real?
***** Constable Blimey Chips to the rescue!
Siddiq Ismail With Sargent Bangers and mash in support!!
Henry Geoghegan And the Junior Hero: Limey Boy!
mordekai pironova I thought we were playing with stereotypes. I know most people in the UK aren't like that.
Yes but constable blimey chips and seargent bangers and mash they aint steriotypes both taking the piss out of england but i have never heard of anyone person in the uk being described as blimey chips people
A character with a fighting style that mainly employs tackles? Seems like Sega took your idea to heart for Yakuza 5.
And did it terribly, because Shinada's Moveset is the worst in the entire series
@@kallonist tbf you are usually meant to use weapons with him but you know
@@williamle1884 I'm aware of this. He's still the worst in the series
@Schnitz Schnartz I mean that's a wild take, but to each their own. I liked him
'Tokyo: It's yellow, but not because of racism.'
I swear, Yahtzee can put more humor on a sign than most _'comedians'_ on TH-cam will ever know exists.
"Healing up by eating fish and chips"
I fucking died at that part
3:06 This isn't an exaggeration. In Yakuza 2 (and by extension, Kiwami 2) there's a thug who calls Kiryu a peacock before picking a fight with him. I love that he included this
Kiryu: I peacocked your mom
I peacocked your mum
@@dr.rodders3329 Exactly! There it is!!
Anyone else think that a game where you play as bobby in old london-tan, healing up by eating fish and chips and using a fighting style that mainly employs rugby tackles would be awesome?
Constable Blimey Chips 2: The Return of General Baseball Firearms
Constable Blimey Chips 3: Revenge of Corporal Boomerang Barbeque.
Constable Blimey Chips 4: Electric Boogaloo
Andrew Taulane Constable Blimey Chips 5 : Attack of Professor Soviet Vodka and Kilt MacGingerhaggis
Samuel Bishop Constable Blimey Chips: Electric Boogaloo -- Schnitzel Schweine Socialism Strikes Back
Constable Blimey Chips: HD Remake
"Yahtzee offers his deepest sympathies to a country and people who have long held his admiration and respect."
"Boy the Japanese are into some weird shit, aren't they?"
Scorecatron Yeah. He does that
(then again he's a Critic not a Reviewer, so talking overly-negative bollocks about anything & everything rather comes with the job discription)
I used to laugh at Hostess clubs, but now I realize just how much of an untapped market there is for having a place where you can go and talk to a girl who is interested.
Don't worry, deep inside you'll know that she cannot not give less of a shit about what you have to say.
They’re called strip clubs, and they’re great!
Constable Blimey Chips where you play as an English Bobbie in London and eat Fish and Chips to heal? FUCKING SOLD.
So did someone please make a remix of the huh duh and nani?
Karpfador can someone
There is an american equivalent;
Metal Wolf Chaos - You play as the U.S. President in the future, fight off against hugely overpowered american weaponry, and the only language is English with Japanese subtitles (It was SO american, that it wasn't released in freaking America)
and yet it was made in japan o3o
indeed :3 or um....no just that i guess o3o
+Tim Bulut SR4 is like a completely different but fun game. After finishing the perfection that is SR2, if you popped in SR4 you would never guess it's from the same franchise aside from the mascots and some old characters.
And now it will be this year.
If it was made in China that be perfect
Yahtzee, I think Constable Blimey Chips will be made now
TheHalbain ...and it will be Awesome ~_^
+TheHalbain ...I would buy, and play, that game. X3
+TheHalbain I now want it. Curse you.
Wait whatcha referring to?
Coldy Tm
Have you watched the video?
Constable blimey chips?
A game were you play add a Bobby who eats fish n chips and rugby tackles people.
I WANT THIS GAME NOW!!
I just started playing Yakuza 5 now. There is somthing weirdly addicting about the game overall, but the thing that sold me the most was in the fighting sequence where you are first encountered by a Devil Killer who came off as pretty tough. I didn't know what any of the god damned buttons did so I just mashed a few of them, and out of the blue (not knowing what I did) after I lit a cigarette just to shine off this Devil Killer, Kaz who stands so calmly spontaneously spits the cigarette in the face of him and follows up with a single huge dragon punch to the face and the fight was over..
I was sold right at that moment.
Way to sound Yahtzee. Work on it a bit more.
Kevin Traberg
I would play Constable Blimey Chips
Maybe some Yardies?
Don't forget the Yobs! XD
Can't be a bobby without some yobbo's to kick around!
They made that Yardies game already; it's called The Getaway. It's basically Guy Ritchie the video game.
Bob MiLaplace sad thing is it would be called "oh shit the feds" where you have to run away from the police, regaining stamina from heroin in some kind of horror survival game
Really nice to see yahtzee offer condolences to the tsunami victims. It was kind of jarring.
kyle magaro, While he will destroy everything you ever loved he is a nice chap.
I'm honestly waiting for the Yakuza 5 review, if only to see how he'll react to the whole Haruka part.
He forgot to mention how kick ass saejima's intro is with his 5 gun suicide mission.
...
Six guns. Not five.
@@mjc0961 RUBBER BULLETS
"The main characters go for the face like its the last drop of toothpaste in the tube"
I don't know why but I cannot stop laughing!
By far the most convoluted game of the series but I love Akiyama so turn a blind eye
1:11 ....am I the only one who would totally play this?
I would.
3:25 He's come right around and praised Elden Ring, and I think also Yakuza, and said this is now the dog's bollocks, and triple A "DON'T YOU DARE MISS ANYTHING WE POURED MONEY INTO" handholding is the pits.
This just perfectly summed up what makes Yakuza games so great.
1:12 I wish that was an actual game...
It's called Yakuza
come on you cant criticise the rooftop shirtless fist fights. Thats the whole point!
These games aren't aimed at english speakers. We had to beg SEGA just to get 3 & 4 in the West.
Zachary Hare Dead Souls was kind of a black sheep, given that it was specifically targeted at westerners. Instead, it ended up nearly tanking the series in the west for good. The fact that we got Yakuza 5 was a miracle.
Zachary Hare I didn’t think it was that bad either. It probably failed for reasons unrelated to quality. It was a trend-chasing game that was being marketed to people who were largely unfamiliar with the Yakuza series, so I can’t blame Sega for nearly canning the series after it failed in the West.
W4r M4chine and then 0 came from the ashes and now, all of the main series entries are on PS4 in the US except for 7...for now.
you know since Hideki Nagauma (skankfunk) compose some of the soundtrack to this game it would have been awsome if he took Yahtzee's remix challenge
I lost it when he said 'nani' XD
I would play the British Yakuza game.
This might be one of the few times where Yahtzee genuinely made me want to play a game.
this is freaking amazing
So Akiyama's minigame involves Geishas? I guess that lousy Art Survey class I took in school actually helped me with something, because I know what a Geisha is: a pretty lady who does a sort of hostess job such as serving meals, listening to jokes and stories and stuff. Or something along the lines of that.
Very dissapointed to see that STILL no one has made a vocalisation remix. Nani nuh nani nuh nani nuh nani nuh
Constable Blimey Chips can be your main villain in Mankind has yet to recognise my genius. We're very slowly piecing this thing together, guys...
I'm from the North of England and I ignored the Getaway series BECAUSE it was set in London, but I would play Constable Blimey Chips to 100% completion!!! And I'm still yet to do that with any Grand Theft Auto game!
Still want Spec Ops: The Line, though...
I can see it now Grand Theft Auto: Queueing Edition.
Tagline: Steal cars! Wait in traffic!
XD
Demi Gee And then come to Leeds with the bazjillion traffic lights! Or Bradford with the hole! Though it is no longer there...
And don't forget to pay your Congestion Charges to sit in the traffic! Don't want to get fined, now, do we?
"The list starts with 'visual novels', then 'visual novels with no tits in them' and pretty much goes downhill from there"
ah, a rare insight into yahtzee's private life, this time confirming that he has indeed been and back from the dark side
I would back Constable Blimey Chips if it was on kickstarter.
Great vid as always :)
the vids u all make make me LOL MY PANTS OFF and what is the song in the intro?
he is so awesome, when you meet him in person!
i started playing Yakuza 4 and completely messed up the hostest training thing, since i had no idea what to do ad the instructions the game gave were incomplete and vague
LOL! The intro alone cracked me up.
I grabbed Yakuza 4 to play right before my trip to japan, and I can say now the in game city feels pretty spot on. Greatly entertaining review as always.
The thing these reviews do perfectly is they always end right before your satisfied so you always need to see the next review.
"leave them to Darwin" jajajaja
the nuh duh nani part really was awesome
Subtitles aren't that bad if you get used to them. You learn to read them fast enough not to miss anything. (Unless they are terribly paced, that is.) I like the option of being able to hear the original version and still understand it. And it's an easy way to learn new languages.
Very well said =] I hated watching sub titles but like you said if you enjoy it you learn to go along with the sub titles without missing a beat. It becomes second nature in my opinion and I'm a slow reader but love the Yakuza series enough to were I actually learned some Japanese =] Anyway I know your comment is 5 months old Tuuliska but you are absolutely right imo. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking?
I never watch dubbed animes for this reason. I love hearing the original Japanese. Plus, the subtitles makes you one helluva speed-reader.
john farley Sorry it took me so long to reply. I'm from Finland. Tbh, we're pretty used to subtitles here. In Finland most of foreign TV and movies are subtitled rather than dubbed. Dubbing seen as something for little kids who can't read yet. So basically immediately after I learned to read I started trying to learn to keep up with subtitles. Also it's cool that you learned some Japanese, congrats. :D
That's only 3 bananas!
Mr. Mustache THIS IS AN OUTRGAGE!
+Mr. Mustache Our lord and savior has betrayed us!!!
+Sour Oddity i am outraged beyond words!
Genius beginning
I so want to play "Constable Blimey Chips" right now
I am still waiting for that mashup..
I actually laughed as I saw the second memo on the screen
i lost it at the end
Okay crazy! Lets do it!
I have been regularly consuming his reviews for years now, you cannot fault me for some of it sinking in over time.
how did i get here, i was listening to miracle of sound o.O
These reviews always make me laugh. They couldn't have picked a better personality to do game reviews.
I would play that constable game. Sounds great.
'But is smashing faces with the best of em by the 2nd act' lol
It’s fun to stay at the h.m.m.b.j.c!
someone pls make constable blimey chips
1:10, i'd play that....
This game just came out on PS4 with English Menus and Subtitles.
2:28 Oh hey, Yahtzee likes the Pixies
you sir win one full box of internet!
i laughed so hard during the first part when he was ranting about japan only because of the disclamer in the begining
@Scorpian360 There are like 50 more episodes on the escapist website. These are here to help you learn about that site.
yahtzee you marvellous man
got this game recently, quite odd at the start but the style is quickly established
haha , love the Alan Wake cameo.
4:46 I'm waiting for the "Nuh Nani Nuh" remix, Yahtzee.
yep
Curious, but whats that DS game @ 0:33 since I have seen it in his other reviews.
0:35 OMG A COMMA!!!
it's funny because after watching so much anime now i often finish my sentence with a "hmm".
4:43 ...He breathed...HE BREATHED!
Theese video's are the only reason i sub'd :3
4:36 Nuh? Duh? Nani?
AHAHAHAHAH that was great
What game is that at 0:33? I've seen it in a couple of his videos and I wanna know why he uses that as a template for "Weird shit from Japan".
I would also like the answer to this. (So I'm commenting in the hopes that I will be notified when someone tells you.)
I can't see too well, but it seems to be a DS eroge.
Its doki doki majo shinpan in case you were still wondering
A British enforcer of justice (typical NES/SNES/Genesis character background info) eating food to heal (never saw that mechanic before...) using rugby tackles as a special move?
You know, that actually sounds like a fun throwback/parody of classic side-scrolling beat-em-ups like Turtles in Time, Golden Axe, or Altered Beast.
It needs to be made.
this review only makes want to play it more
This, I 100 percent agree.
2:29 GASP PIXIES REFERENCE. I
He has GOT to preview Deadly Premonition. Ooooh God what I'd give to see his take on that game.
1:11 Working on the design documents as we speak. :)
whats the DS game Yahtzee keeps referring to at 0:33 i cant remember what other episode it was in but whats so weird about it o-o
0:33 what game is the guy on the left holding?
he show that game several times but never identify the game
i cut out the game from the video, tilted it so that it was straight in photoshop, then dropped it into google image search, and this is the game. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doki_Doki_Majo_Shinpan!
zantanzuken Noice one.
I'd play constable blimey chips
ya ever had ramen? its a delicacy back on earth
I would play Constable Blimey Chips, seems like a fun concept xD
And it is here that Yahtzee learned the enjoyment of bicycle pummeling. I'm so moved.
"My nipples have turned into little rosey jellybeans..."
... This is Japan mate. They'd be rosey vienna sausages
I would pay to see constable blimey chips in development
Can I just say, Constable Blimey Chips sounds like an AWESOME game!!!
You asked "how do you like that?" I liked it fried
Yes, exactly.
These things can be solved nicely by getting a 20-bucks-per-year membership. It also come with a lot of fun extras.
Or, if you really hate those annoying bloody ads, but don't want to pay for it, you can simply get the firefox with Ad-block plus add-on.
nan/i means what or if put into context vase
so i would LOVE a remix
