Hello I've just watched your video as I have the same bike and am experiencing the same problems with mounting extra devices. I see you made your own bolts which is great! Would you consider making more of these bolts so that the RT1200/50 owners have a solution to the issue as I'm pretty sure you cannot get these bolts from many places. Warm regards
Hi Gary, thank you for your comments. As you will have seen I make the Clutch Lever RAM bolt for the left hand side. The right hand brake lever is totally different and cannot be used. I then make the Brake Reservoir RAM bolt and again that cannot be fitted to the left hand Clutch reservoir because on modern RT's those screws, although looking the same, are more like self-tapping screws. Did you mean a Clutch Reservoir RAM bolt? www.normski-bmw.co.uk
Hi Christian, that is a very good question. It is only when you take the brake lever apart you realise it is completely different. The same applies to the brake reservoir RAM bolt. The clutch reservoir may look the same but take a bolt out and you will see that it is more like a self tapping screw🤦🏼♂️
Brilliant ideas Norm!!!! Im hoping to order some from your website. Can you tell me what I will need for my insta360 remote....I would love to mount it exactly as you have on my 2022r1250rt!!!!! Also what extension arm are you using for your insta360 camera....I can see how you mounted the adhesive part to the bike but would love to see how/what extension arm you are using. A pic perhaps? Love your channel!!!!
Hi Frederick, This video shows how I mounted my Insta 360 to my RT. th-cam.com/video/gtpGruSYaOk/w-d-xo.html I found however that with 2 GoPro cameras and the Insta that the amount of editing was too much. So I sold the Insta and the Hero5 and it was more than enough to buy the new GoPro 10. If you do order some RAM parts I will try and find the mounting ring I turned down to hold the Insta pole and also the Insta Remote control ‘attachment’ I made to hold it on the handlebar. You are welcome to them, no charge. You could however buy a RAM 1” ball with a 1/4inch screw which goes into the foot of the Insta invisible stick, then it can bolt into a RAM small mount on your brake reservoir cover. Do not extend the selfie stick but it will be above your screen? Not as stable as my system licked onto the engine bar and Denali light…if you have them🤔
Thanks Norm....yes, can I purchase from you the 4mm bolt you use to mount ontop of the brake fluid resevoir? And the round ram ball mount as well? As you indicated in your previous response, if you still have the insta360 remote mounting parts I'll purchase those as well!!!! It's tricky finding the right location for that remote but I think your set up is brillianr!!!
Hi Fred, did you not receive my emails to your personal accounts and pictures?. Not to worry. If you place your order for the two items I have them ready to send to you. I will include the Insta remote ‘holder’ and also the invisible selfie stick. I had thrown away the circular collar but made you another one last Sunday. I do not want anything for those parts. The postage is more of course but I cannot work out how to do a special postage cost on PayPal so forget any extras 🤗
Hi Joao, I did one once for a 2005 RT. However, although the customer was OK with it, the clutch RAM bolt on that bike moved when pulled as it fits through the lever in a different position. If you can take a picture of your clutch lever I will be able to tell. Send to mrnormanhill@yahoo.co.uk. The bike reservoir right hand one would fit no problem at all. Thank you Joao. Norman
Hi Hagop, thank you for your comment. The Insta 360 ONE X is one incredible piece of technology. I do not believe it should be your main camera but as an addition to GoPro it produces some amazing different angles, almost like a drone flying alongside of you. Have a look at their website www.insta360.com/product/insta360-onex Also I put a TH-cam video on my channel last week showing it in use.

Hi Steve, I had orders for 5 RAM Bolts on Friday for Canada and Ireland. As I was making them I thought I would make an extra set while I had time on my lath 😄. So just about to go to the Post Office to post yours to you😆. Thank you for your order and supporting me. Fitting the 360 was tricky. As you will have seen it was on my RT at the time. I had fitted engine bars and riding lights. I put a RAM U bolt with 1" ball onto the bottom of the engine bar. Then bought a RAM 1" ball with the 1/4" screw that went straight into the bottom of the Insta invisible selfie stick. I then turn down a 'tube' the same size as the selfie stick at that position, drilled a hole in the side of this tube and there was just enough room to bolt it to the Denali riding light mount. This meant that I could raise or lower the selfie stick to whatever height I required. It worked well but the Insta 360 I had I just struggled to be able to see if it was on or not. The Insta remote was on my handlebar but screen too small for me to see what I was doing. In the end I sold the Insta and bought another GoPro. Just out of interest I looked at the latest Insta 360 the other day and they have changed so much that I think it would work really well on the system I had. Hope that helps, don't have any pictures!! Must rush to the Post Office. very best Norman
@@normski3091 Thanks Norman i have a 2022 RT and have a M10 thread on the right side (probably for a mirror) so was thinking a insta stick would go straigh on there maybe.
@@5teve694 Hi Steve, I presume that the Insta still uses the world wide standard 1/4” thread that rules the photographic world…as per tripods etc. if that is the case you will need a male 10mm thread to go into your mirror socket and then a 1/4” male thread to go into your Insta.
