    Hi. I bought one of these units a couple of years back. We have noticed that the newer and bigger iPhones (I have a 14 Pro Max) really need a lot of juice if you are running maps, google maps or Waze, and this was draining faster than the adapter connection would supply. We tried switching everything off to just run maps but the same thing happened. We have ended up still running a cable from the DIN. Not sure the BMW electrics are designed to handle the new gas-guzzler phones in the satnav. HAs anyone else had this happen?

      Interesting. I would have blamed the cheap mount, but maybe it is low power to the satnav.

    Nice set up!!! Question....the ball mount you have on your handlebar.....does it have a long bolt that you replace the factory bolt with? Did you buy that from RAM?
    Thanks

      Thanks. I cannot say with 100% certainty what the mount is as it came with the bike and was installed by the previous owner. But it looks very similar to this adapter from Wunderlich with a generic ball attached. www.wunderlichamerica.com/BMW_K1600_R1200_R1250_RT_MultiPod_Adaptor

    Do you think it would fit a garmin Zumo XT? The dimensions are all similar to a phone with the exception of the thickness of the device being more like 1 inch.

      Yeah. I think the Zumo would be too thick. Maybe this would work? th-cam.com/video/NZjeUzAgssM/w-d-xo.html

    I like it, but I have the BMW GPS already. Any other options that you're aware of?

      I’ve used Quadlock on other bikes. They’re not as cheap considering you have to buy their phone case, but they have many mounting options to choose from.

      That’s no good. I’d send it back to Amazon.

    Hello, never had problems with your phones camera after using this? Because I’m afraid the vibration from the bike destroys the camera stabilisation of the phone.

      I have not, but I also use a an iPhone SE. I believe that it has a less sophisticated camera that is not as sensitive to vibrations. I'd might worry though if it was a new phone.

      @@jrobrides1340 yes that is my concern too.. maybe it’s best if I get an older phone second hand just for that purpose. Just need it to have a big screen

    How secure do you think it holds the phone? Do you still use it?

    • @jrobrides1340
      @jrobrides1340  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still use it. It holds it in very tightly. The spring that holds it is strong enough that getting it out is a deliberate action. I have a small phone, but it’s does fine. I usually switch to a tougher case when on the bike as the clamp actually digs in to my leather case. I’ve also heard that it can press the buttons on bigger phones.

    Hi! What is the maximum size phone that fits in? I have a Galaxy S23 Ultra (16.5cm by 8.3cm). Would that fit in?

    • @jrobrides1340
      @jrobrides1340  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe, but I think that might be too tight. The clamp only extends out to about 8.8cm. I have an iPhone SE which is a relatively small phone, and it's a tight fit.

    I have an IPhone 13 Pro. Do you or anyone here know if there’s any issues mounting that in it?

    • @jrobrides1340
      @jrobrides1340  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That should fit. I’d worry if it was a Plus though.

    Iphone 11?

    • @jrobrides1340
      @jrobrides1340  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that would probably fit. My phone is an SE, so it’s on the small side.
