Lewis, thank you for having Gabby for this podcast. I have stopped, and replayed so many segments of this podcast. Currently at 26:53 where I am that mom having suicidal thoughts. I am that mom on PPD medication. I am that mom who has struggled in her finances to afford my medication. I had to be that mom to go cold turkey because I simply couldn't afford my medication. I am currently waiting for my medicaid to kick in and cover my prescriptions at no cost so I can get back to that space, to help another like you have helped me. Thank you so much.

This was great thank you both. I experienced a major trauma last October and am eight months sober. I have been in some dark places before but nothing compared to the last 11 months. After Lewis named his sign of an eagle. I picked mine then asked "am I safe to stay" a few moments later Gabby said "my friend said she saw a cardinal"....I asked for a cardinal as a sign. What a relief! Definitely buying her books!

Hey, Lewis! Gabby recommended EMDR. Neuroemotional technique (NET) is a similar experience that uses muscle testing (i.e. your body's communication) to identify and release trauma. It has been the biggest catalyst for change in my life, and it is what initially pulled me out of a downward spiral. I've healed from many types of trauma using this technique.
Your podcast also helped keep me afloat at that time, which I consider one of my dark nights of the soul. Your podcast is where I first heard about Emotional Freedom Technique from Nick Ortner, which saved me. Tapping started me down a path of daily practice for emotional healing that went beyond meditation; it helped me identify emotions more clearly. In my very first tapping session, which I did along with Nick in the podcast, what I identified was that I was feeling depressed because I felt so alone. By the end of my tapping, I realized I had this amazing community online through your show, and that even though "my" people weren't physically surrounding me, they were energetically holding me.
That was the beginning of Greatness for me.

these are the type of conversations people need to be having more of... talking about emotions, trauma, love, addiction, depression, spiritual growth (without focusing on religion)
I feel so much more connected after hearing this interview. I too have personally struggled with addiction, mental health and being a highly sensitive male. I used to associate my struggles with negativity (always trying to control everything) but now I realize every experience has a lesson, and this adversity has made me into the more complete and true version of myself. It is the beginning of a new spiritual transition on the way to aligning my ideal self with my true self, so I can continue living in peace and authenticity.
Thank you Lewis and Gabby! I love how genuine this interview was keep being amazing :)

@Kate B Please clarify what you are referring to when you say "all foolish lies."
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Think about this people: Gabby with all her new age information, techniques and woo woo couldn't help herself shortly after having a baby! After getting all these additional immediately apparent reasons to live from the baby: experiencing all that unconditional love from the baby could not help her. Notice how sure she was recalling on multiple instances that she would have taken her own life. What do this truly show? Why invest time and money on stuff that seems to only cover up or make yourself numb to symtoms? More informative information on Doreen Virtue's and Steven Bancarz' TH-cam channels.

When y'all were talking about signs, and you chose your eagle, I had the thought "I want a sign about whether I should stop participating in a certain self destructive behavior I do" (obviously yes, but that's not the point!) and I chose a Cardinal as the sign I wanted to see. Thirty seconds later (around 37:40 ) Gabby starts TALKING ABOUT A CARDINAL AS A SIGN!!! I love playing these games with the universe, and that was PERFECT! ^_^

Thank you Gabby for your human honesty. It has helped me. Yes we are all traumatised. PTSD is rampant. But it also confirmed what l have come to know " those who speak do not know, those that know do not speak" l learned this from attending workshops, listening to so called spirtual teachers, self help authors. Ex: Tony Robbins who admitted he was not a happy man - he has made billions preaching motivation crap. They sound good, but their is no true substance. Working on my stuff has rendered me speechless. You cant talk or explain - cause your humbled, bewildered, and you discover you know nothing, nothing. All else is just noise. I now stay at home, alone, cause people are exhausting. I am super careful what l listen too on utube, cause l know BS when l hear it. So stop reading self help books, attending workshops - cause they dont how either - but it will be gradually be revealed, guided, when you sit in solitude and ask the right questions to yourself, journal to investigate. An intimacy will happen. Start with self care, clean your space, soul food and you will meet you. I promise.

Hina SJehan In what way may I ask? I know she has been honest about her depression and here she has been honest about being on medication. She seems still her self but I wonder about why have another child when it caused her so much pain? But I respect her decision and she is great Mom. We all have to remember that Gaby is just human with a flawed fearful ego as we all have.

    • @hsj7131

@@beholden1663 For example, if someone is suicidal, they may need a lot more support then a self help book and monitoring by friends and family. Sometimes, life can throw you serious existential crisis. I was watching gab's energy and intuitively I just felt, she is still dealing with a lot. I am sure, she is a great mom. I would not have a second child or first if I felt I had mental and emotional work to do and not go through that much physical pain. I believe in adoption as an option too and personally haven't had children yet bec of all the work I had to do on me. I am a fan of Gabby's. The universe has your back is one of her best works.

Hina SJehan thank you for your prompt informative reply. Yes I’ve watched her videos and what I like is that she puts a lot of spiritual concepts of A Course in Miracles in very practical simple words.
But I hear your perspective in that she is going through a lot especially since having a child. I wonder she should works to much on her life coaching business and should take time off to rest and heal and be with her family?
Also it surprises me that an awakened conscious woman such as Gabby would bring another child into this tough world just to give her current child a buddy? Also she is going through a lot like you said and having another child at 40 does not seem like a prudent decision coming from a conscious person?
But who knows perhaps it’s her karma and what seems strange to us may be the right decision for her.
I may get that book “ The Universe has your back”.

    • @hsj7131
      @hsj7131 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@beholden1663 Yes, agreed she should have taken a break after having kids. That would be much needed. Work can always wait. In united states, women don't have that luxury but depends on peoples financial circumstances too. I suppose the greatest fear a parent could have is if something happened to them, their child would be left alone in this world. My aunt did that for her daughter as well, brought a baby boy into the world. Fortunately, for all of us due to medical science couples can fulfill their desire to have children well into their mid forties at least in the united states. Age is just a no, people need to be alive on the inside. Sometimes young people can be dead on the inside due to their spirit. I might get the course in miracles.

After a life time reading Carl Jung, Rollo May, Viktor Frankel, etc etc this is quite tedious, and I failed see any point to a smarmy public confessional. I have no problem with your reaction. I spent 1968 in Vietnam and I have been a musician all my life and for years did volunteer work through the Church helping people with severe mental illness. I am comfortable around troubled people owing to my war experiences. I care very much about the struggles of young people, and the struggle for meaning in the face of a popular "culture" that is antithetical to everything that is human. My formulaic message was to place all human suffering into the divine perspective. The God of scripture has revealed himself to be loving and merciful. This is the message upon which western civilization was built. You can deny it, but the message is eternal. I would encourage young people to read about the passion of Christ from his abandonment by his sleeping disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane to his torture and murder. So much of our inner turmoil can be relieved when we come to understand often unbearable mental pain as our own personal Gethsemane. I learned this from an old Irish nun. Peace.

Lewis is gorgeous 🤗❤ I so get u & agree Gabby absolutely depending on the depth of the trauma/issue/situation, propper help/therapy/medication, these things are essential for healing, i have been on a similar journey, people that have not or have not witnessed this aweful journey have no idea of the depth!! The pain is indescribable, losing yrself...Feeling unsafe/lonely can also be just as traumatic, every individual has their individual situation ....No judgement!! It CAN be very daunting if u are not aware also....
    Brilliant Discussion!!
    Thankyou both so much 🙏❤

Anti-depressents is a very pusher solution, though one that works. In our world, people don't allow themselves to leave society and just focus on healing. I think it's so important that we recognize how off our hormones are and that we need to change how we live if we want to have balance. This is a conversation we can't even have in our society but we need to begin acknowledging how out of balance chasing success and power and freedom can be.

Great interview Lewis. I am always intrigued by people in their environment and the focus of "confidence" in action. Seeing celebrity influencers that lead large communities... reminds me of various times when in the field "Afghanistan... and other locations" when leaders would deliver from different places of emotional states.

Gabby... Love you so much! Thank you for being so authentic and real.. from there, the beauty of your spirit shines so brightly! I have many self-help books gathering dust in the basement. Judgment Detox is one of only a few books that reside in a main drawer, upstairs.. I see it there almost every day. You are right, it was too hard (at the time) to finish the book (the work). After watching your talk with Lewis, I am now newly encouraged and inspired to continue the journey. Thank you both!

Can I say why I started liking Gabrielle so much? It's a petty reason. Reading her book at first I thought her problems were so small - making a drama out of not being invited to a party? Oh come on! My problems are so much serious than that! But in a strange way, I could relate, because my "more serious" problems - money, relationship with a person that treated me poorly, chronic self esteem issues - felt just as ridiculous and small as staying in a mansion and being angry for not being invited to a social gathering (or so I imagined).
My "problems" are actually as small as the pettiest problem, and when I sit still and look at them, I can sense the change of perception that crawls into me and makes me a new person that will change everything effortlessly and escape the riddles I have before me now. I have done it before. One, two, three years ago I had "issues" that at times felt like the end of the world, but now I see them in a whole different light and count them as blessings. Time and time again the only way to solve an obstacle was to see it with a light heart and joy. Health, relationship, money issues included.
So her books are just what I need. A gentle reminder to see love instead of fear and a get a different point of view. It is much needed. Thank you, Gabby.
