This was a treat to watch! I’m a guide in the US and spend about a month a year in Scotland and rarely fish…. This video makes me want to change that….
Well done Rob, what a great day's fishing. Red letter day's like that don't come along too often. Good to see you in the right place at the right time. Brilliant 👏
What a fantastic day Rob. A day you’ll never forget. Days like that make up for the poor days, missed and lost fish and the long drives. I’ve actually watched this video twice I enjoyed it so much. Tight lines.
Well done, you caught it right and fished it very well. Enjoy, those kind of days don’t come along often as you know! Thank you for taking us along for the ride 👍
Outstanding fishing well done Rob, Findhorn is my favourite river and days like this are very rare. Really well done on the catches and great footage very enjoyable to watch :)
Many thanks, I must admit that after a 6 hour drive to land and find the river so low was devastating but I suppose you never know how things are going to go. I'm saving watching your last couple of videos for the winter when the cabin fever really sets in.
@@abakerslife Aye thats a long drive it almost never works out like this so fantastic you got it all on camera. My wife calls the winter the season of depression 🤣😆
Awesome! Great to share your red letter day. Just fantastic. I've been wanting to fish the Findhorn. Really inspired now. Well done. Looking forward to part two, Rob.
@abakerslife Might have an excuse to get close as #1 child is starting a masters in Aberdeen.... Mrs P is never pleased when holiday packing involves fishing kit (or golf clubs)! Looks like a nice little lift on the Coquet this week, but alas I'm in Milwaukee!
Well done lad and all a very short distance from my property, The findhorn has always been a good river and then there is the Nairn which was excellent after a spate. The day you had was commonplace in the 70's as the fish were plentiful. My Dad used to joke that in the 40's and 50's when the water was low you could walk across the river on the salmons backs. Superb day for you and very well fished mate.👍🏴
Cheers Phil, it's certainly a long shank to get up there but I have a suspicion I will be making that trip a few more times in the years to come. It's hard not to have an affinity with the river where you caught your first salmon.
Brilliant day's fishing Rob, well done You!!. The river seemed to be full of fish, hope the numbers this year will show an improvement for salmon and sea trout by the seasons end!!Cheers Peter.
@abakerslife I lost another fish unfortunately that's 5 in a row I've lost now. Dad got one. Saw an absolute monster jump hoping I've got footage of it. Video will be out on the 12th. Got another video from my week at Tomatin house coming out this Saturday.
That's got to be tough to take though I do know someone who lost 17 in a row and he is a good hand as well. It happens to the best of us. Next year it will even out I'm sure.
Well done! That was a great bit of fishing Rob ,lovely pools even in low - water .Definitely a river I would like to fish what beat or pools where you fishing ?
Brilliant you got that many Rod, this took me back to when I had a day to remember on the findhorn, what a river( that was only 2 months ago😂) where was it you were fishing that you could fish on Sundays?
Hi friend, is there a way of contacting you? I am trying to help a friend who is a lifelong fisherman and very keen to make a connection with you. He shares your passion for the river...
Well done Rob, what a great day's fishing. Red letter day's like that don't come along too often. Good to see you in the right place at the right time. Brilliant
Nicely done, no background music. Just the sound of the water, you talking to yourself and the line going out. Perfect.
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing, as previously said, no background music etc just someone enjoying the day and at peace with the world.
Glad you enjoyed the video

Well done indeed. Bullied them in so they went back easily. Love the clips of the takes, it’s just like it is. Nice one.
Many thanks, yes I'm playing my fish a lot harder these days for just that reason
Brilliant stuff, well done .....still canny see me using that zelda fly though 😂
Looks like a dogs dinner but if it works why not? I think it was just something they hadn't seen before.

Epic battle on one of the most magic rivers
It's certainly a special water, can't wait to get back up there next year.
Halcyon day! Fantastic really enjoyed the video 👍👍

Cracking day in very difficult conditions Rob. Well done
Thanks, when I got up there and saw how low it was I was gutted but I suppose you never can tell how things are going to go.
Class video as always pal 🎣👌

What a day and what a season you are having. Im hoping for some of your luck for tomorrow for the last day of the season on the Findhorn.
Cheers, yes I've had plenty of good luck this year. Hope you got a last day pull or two.
@abakerslife I lost another fish unfortunately that's 5 in a row I've lost now. Dad got one. Saw an absolute monster jump hoping I've got footage of it. Video will be out on the 12th. Got another video from my week at Tomatin house coming out this Saturday.

@@abakerslife I hope so. Still got a couple of days planned. I'm about to put a short up of the monster jumping.
Will keep an eye out for the leviathan
I'm loving your videos, must have put a smile on your face time and time again with all those hookups, has this been your best outing so far? 😃
Absolutely never had more than 2 in a day before.
Amazing day's fishing Rob

Wow what a days fishing mate well done!! A video on that fly would be very cool and of the bacon!! 🐟🎣🔥👍👌
Many thanks, me tying flies is painful to watch but the bacon one I could manage!
Hi m8 great video can i ask did you have a tip on or was it a straight leader
Cheers, I was fishing a 15' intermediate tip
The Good Life 🌼no doubting that 👍
Yep, luckily not all fishing days are that successful otherwise where would be the fun?
What a day mate well done 👏
Many thanks
Well done what a day you had
Mary thanks, definitely a day to think back upon during the long winter nights
Amazing day fishing 🎣 what line do you pair with the Oracle rod? Casts a dream
I use a Barrio switch 6/7 on it and it's a pleasure to cast.
Thank you I have just got an Oracle and looking to pair a line up 🎣
Hi Rob
Is that a Oracle 7/8 switch
Many thanks. Great video
What a day, the salmon Gods were certainly shining on you. Makes all those days we blank almost worth it, well almost.
Cheers, every dog has his day eventually I suppose.
Well done Rob! Great video. When you’ve come back down to earth do your bacon curing vid. Jill R
Many thanks, will.do
Well done! That was a great bit of fishing Rob ,lovely pools even in low - water .Definitely a river I would like to fish what beat or pools where you fishing ?
Thanks, pure luck though. I was fishing Drynachan, I don't remember the names of the pools though I'm afraid.
Some job fair play lovely fish

Stunning river. Is that the Rio trout spey line you're using?
I was using a Barrio switch line. I have a friend who raves about the rio trout spey line though
Great work Sir
Many thanks
Well done amazing river
It sure is and seems to have had a good year.
@@abakerslife on tomatin house today upstream. Fish around fingers crossed.
Well done Rob that's a days fishing to remember 🎣 What setup were you using ?
Hi, Shakespeare Oracle switch with a Barrio switch line #6/7- was perfect for the job
lovely fish mate what fly are you using to catch those beauties
?😁
Cheers, mostly I was fishing a zelda fly (a bit like a black frances).
@@abakerslife ok thank you
Great videos
Many thanks
Well done 👌🎣🎣
Thanks 👍
Days like that are very rare these days. Landing salmon single handed is hard work.
Well at least I had my day in the sun even if it never happens again.
Hi Rob we’re on the Findorn what beat looks good wading
Hi, it was Drynachan.
Brilliant you got that many Rod, this took me back to when I had a day to remember on the findhorn, what a river( that was only 2 months ago😂) where was it you were fishing that you could fish on Sundays?
You're not the guy who had 14 on Glenferness?! The Findhorn seems to have had a good year.
I travelled upon Sunday and fished Monday
@@abakerslife no I had missed a few and my dad landed a 16 1/2 cock fish the landscape was incredible
WELL DONE!!!!
Cheers 🍻
Brilliant Fishing
Many thanks
Great day fishing mate had a 18 to 20 the other day have the video up on channel
Looks like you've had a really good year
@@abakerslife yeah mate have 28 and lost 19 so far this year
P.S. don’t forget the bacon curing video 🤙
Sore arm that evening I bet, great to watch
Cheers 🍻
what size /colour of zelda were you using ,cheers
It was a black one tied on a 1/2" plastic tube
@@abakerslife thanks for the reply
hey.... what is that line and stick you're using? regards
I was using a Shakespeare Oracle switch rod with a Barrio switch line
@@abakerslife request to provide the stick class and link class and whether it is skagit or scandi. 🙃
7/8 wt rod, 6/7 wt line. It's a switch line so closer in taper to a scandi than a skagit
@@abakerslifehey... What length of line leader do you use?
👍
WOW!
Cheers, rigjt place right time.
Hi friend, is there a way of contacting you? I am trying to help a friend who is a lifelong fisherman and very keen to make a connection with you. He shares your passion for the river...
Braw 👍
Many thanks 👍
Well as a very critical Salmon angler I'm disgusted... no sauce on ya sandwich...who's Jealous? 😬
I know...my range of condiments in the van needs improving!
Well done Rob, what a great day's fishing. Red letter day's like that don't come along too often. Good to see you in the right place at the right time. Brilliant
