Her character really grew on me over the years. She may not have changed but the understanding of the dynamic Susie brings did. From the voice of 'no fun allowed' to 'you boys are all idiots and here's why'. They really made her character a part of the group rather than a stick in the mud. And factor in the bullshit the boys pull you really start to empathize and see how she moves the narrative along with her criticisms rather than blocks it.
I was feeling the same disappointment as Susie when she said “that’s it?” Love the personality, reminds me of my family that grew up in Brooklyn :) Would love to see her as a special guest for an entire show!
Why can't we have a show like the UK's Graham Norton Show? Every interview on Colbert feels like a "speed round" of questions. And it's the same for the other late night talk shows, must cram in as many ads as the audience will tolerate.

As a dad of 5 to 10 yr olds, ive moved away from colorful language on tv but there's something therapeutic and genuine about Susie's outbursts. Like a pressure cooker whistle letting out steam, shrill yet oddly satisfying.

Yes yes yes she needs to be a regular guest! Her spunk is so energizing, gets your creative juices flowing!!! I've never even seen her before and I'm going to start watching Curb Your Enthusiasm because of this interview. She was fun.
Given the unusual way Larry runs the show, with outlines rather than dialogue, what makes this woman SO SPECIAL is that she verbalises and acts through that outline better than any other performer. So great.

Susie & Joy Bahar are longtime friends. Imagine the two of them in "Curb" as something like sisters or old friends that fought, parted ways years before, & never buried the hatchet. Now one of them feels like it's time to broker peace between each other so they can be friends again.

Finally, an actual REAL person on a talk show. No bullshit with what she says, no bullshit with her appearance. Just a normal person. Curb is my all time favourite US comedy show and I'm so glad it's returned. That whole season with the fatwa on Larry was the best season ever.

I put an apple, a small snack pack of Doritos, and a little puzzle book in the closest thing I could make to an old hobo bindle and then sat in an alley around the corner from my house until i got bored (probably 20 minutes). The next time, I packed more to do, lasted about 40 minutes, but it felt like an eternity.
I love Susie Essman, I have been a fan for decades. She has strong ties in my community, and appears here often. Imagine my surprise when comedian Amy Schumer used a joke that Susie Essman wrote when Schumer was still in high school. No attribution, no credit, just a right-in-your-face, bold as brass, STOLEN joke. Susie was surprised that Schumer just stole her joke and used it in her special, I was NOT surprised. Schumer is no Susie Essman!
First time I’m seeing Susie out of character. Started Curb years ago but kinda half watched it while doing other stuff. This year I started it properly and when Susie shows up on screen I get so excited, she’s great. Seeing her out of character for the first time is so strange; she’s not screaming swear words at Colbert hahaha
