Y’all forget that Jay Jay (20) and Micheal (17) shares a pull out bed. That’s too old to share a bed with anyone!! It’s a miracle no one ever woke up bricked up with the other ready to throw hands.
@DaisyAppleJuice lol you said bricked up that's true though Micheal should've been able to move out but Florida blocked so many opportunities for the family
What about thelma and her man? Should they be gone too?
lol lol!
JJ is 20? JJ is probably 30 by this time.
LOL @ 'bricked up'!!!
Ain't no way this girl going all the way to Cabrini-Green to drop off some folder from school! 😅
You got that right! lol
@@crowsandravens8998 Like the other time when that sorority girl from the prep school that Thelma got a scholarship to also showed up at the Evans household! Come on!
Michael got himself a nice little snow bunny!!! That’s the best part about college 😋😇
She is always holding that family back by trying to keep them together
I have always said that, too 😂. I mean, I understood why, but... Damn, Damn, Damn - sometimes you have to do things differently 😂
This toxicity still exist in some families.
@@miami-blac do you mean Florida or thinking that keeping the family together was holding them back? I'm just curious 😊.
well seeing what happed after they met Cindy's parents, it turned out Florida was right.
Florida got on my nerves. She was ALWAYS DTM.
If your child wanna move out; let them.
IDC what her children wanted to do she disagreed.
Michael's afro was flawless.
Michael looks like he’s part of the Jackson 5 young Michael Jackson from the beginning good Times classic
That's true
Well, Penny was their neighbor at some point, so ya never know, lol
So did Janet Jackson
Michael ain't no fool. He knows a good deal when he sees one. Bright young man with a promising future. Bye Mom!
He definitely a fool if he messing with a snow bunny during the early 70s 😂
Awesome. Why cant sitcoms today be so simple?
He said on the breakfast club they wanted him to have his first kiss with her and he told him no he would look like a hypocrite for kissing a white girl and he was pro black.
yeah no matter how bad things got, Michael would never live with a white girl.
To be fair, Michael was just two shades from being white himself.
@@dariog36th To be even more fair, those are the ones who helped advance civil rights and blacks the most
Nah he gey
@@LaCream973 LOL, I always thought he acted a little that way.
Florida didn't want anybody to leave the Projects. She was probably still living there when they knocked Cabrini-Green down.
Remember when she made James return the money he found? Also when he she kept him from taking the high paying job at his friend’s church because it was a phony church.
🤣🤣🤣😅
I'm dying 😂.
She did try and buy a house
⚰️😂⚰️
One of the funniest post-James episodes lol. Cindy's parents were hilariously cringe!
I agree, and JJ was actually very funny in this episode.
I wish they never got rid of James. It just threw the whole show off balance.

You could hardly blame Micheal though.
Seriously, it's fn Chicago
Why? Cause he got himself a White chick? 😂

Yeah, that’s how he ends up like Emmett Till,
This is the 70s Micheal shouldn’t be near a young white woman, it’s survival.

😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was told that when I turned 18 that I didn't live there anymore. I was welcomed back for holidays though. I still lived there for parts of several summers though until I graduated school and got a real job.
And People wonder why black families aren’t close and the “community” is in the shapes it’s in. This comment shows it
Same. I moved out at 17 my mom wanted me to
That IS too many people in that apartment though!
And they still struggle to pay the rent.😂
@@timbrown5576 Bruh! Im crying😭🤣🤣🤣
Man, things were definitely different back then! Nowadays, the parents would help them pack...AND contribute!
She probably would if it wasn't a girl and if he wasn't living with people who would maybe try to tempt him for drugs etc.
Ralph Carter recent interview said he originally was supposed to kiss her but the script was changed because it would ruin his character.
Nancy Morgan, "aka" Cindy in real life was 12 years older than Michael! She was older than Thelma and Keith! She is the first wife of the late John Ritter, and she had three children by him, Carly, Jason, and Tyler. She is now 75 years old.
Wow, she looked so young in this episode.
HE GOTTA GROW AND ENJOY LIFE 🤷🏾♂️
Mom has the final say in the life of her un-adult son.
PLEASE post the scene with Cindy’s parents😂😂😂😂
Great show along with Sanford and Son
You skipped the best part when her parents was there and keith did that dance😂😂😂😂😂
Wow, it just got real!
This one scene is funnier than most Tyler Perry sitcoms and shows on the CW.

I moved out on my own when I was 17.
Yeah, sometimes you just gotta go and do something different.
No way Becky walked through projects by herself to drop off a folder, lol
Great show! Casting was perfect.
This episode makes no sense. Not just because of Michael's history of being so pro-black, but economically how does Michael have the $ to split rent with one other person? Did he have a job in season 6?
NO which is why it made no sense
He doesnt
The average freshman doesn't have a job when they start college and aren't homeless. With financial aid you can either live at home, in a dorm, or your own apartment.
Maybe Michael saved up money over the years but not enough to rent an apartment on his own.
@@aph1976 there's an episode in that same season where everyone in the family put their money together in hopes of buying a house. I believe it aired after this one. I don't remember where Michael's share was coming from or how much it was but in season 6 I don't recall any other references to him having any source of income. Maybe he had a part time job to afford him some walking around money for dates clothes and small stuff but not rent too with only one other person. The writing was the worst part of this show- all over the place
Wilona😍😍😍
Yesssssss!

@@1talldaddywas the relationship a bad one
@@ashleyseay2871 no they met Cindy's parents and realized the only reason they liked Micheal was because he was from the ghetto and thought he could protect her robbers.

I never knew Sigourney Weaver was in Good Times!
1:56 Now you know that’s a real live studio audience and not a laugh track lol
I love me some JJ . I just saw him at the la county fair
It should of been a full episode
Florida needed all that water! One shock after another. Michael moving out at only 17. Moving in with a girl. Moving in with a white girl. Only one bedroom and only one bed! Oh but he's gonna sleep on the sofa. They're not romantically involved but they will be if they live together. I have no issue at all with the interracial thing though at this time it was still a bit of a shock for most people. How long will Michael be sleeping on that sofa?
It doesn't matter the color of her skin. Men and women should not live together unless they're married
When Ralph Carter was on the Breakfast Club, he said that in the original script he was supposed to make out with Cindy but he was against because of Michael's pro-black stance.
@@bhokelumumba5139 Yeah, I saw that, too. That was interesting to hear Ralph's perspective on the episode's alternative relationship between Michael & Cindy.
That doesn't mean that eventually it would've become some kind of relationship @@bhokelumumba5139
Michael wanted to hit!
What killed me about this show was when people like her visited them, no way would a young white girl or pretty much any white person go into Cabrini Green in the 70s and especially the high rises, even cops didn't like going there.
yeah James.Florida and Willona laughed at the FBI when they expected a cab to come the projects at night.
Also the fact we didn’t get along with each other in general 😂
For good reasons…it’s starts with the letter D
I truly thank God my grandmother was nothing like Florida
Florida was the real enemy all along 😂
Man this;would have been a great spinoff show!! Michael and the snow bunny!

Florida was a wonderful Mother. My mother thought just like her. My mother was about 15 years younger than her.
Your mother wasn't shyt just like Florida wasn't
@@angelminaj617
Why do you think florida was bad?
Explain
Florida did'nt want no one to move outta the ghetto, she would have been happy there with her family even today
actually, she did but every time they got one foot out the door something bad would always happen and they ended staying.
Florida had her morals first and foremost. And would never support her children doing something she wouldn't approve but she definitely wanted a better life for them out the ghetto.
Facts she tried to keep everyone in the ghetto even when James was alive. It was annoying
Micheal was sleeping on the couch @ home so what was gonna change...???
Independence, Less people, a study buddy, and some in-house catnip, lol.
Thelma's face at 4:15-4:20 🤣🤣🤣
Michael himself decided AGAINST this when he got a load of Cindy's parents and their attitudes.

I am shocked by these comments about Florida not wanting anybody to move out. She wanted her family to get their education, find jobs and move out. James left for a better paying job and we know what happened there. JJ, Thelma and Keith should have been gone, especially JJ. Those who watched the show know what happened with Thelma and Keith and we know how the show ended. The point of Good Times was to give audiences who weren’t familiar a glimpse at the struggle and to give audiences who were familiar some hope. You can have a loving, healthy family, be poor, but not stay poor.
Now, we also know about show business and how dirty that can be, but we won’t discuss that here…
you're right and the funny thing is they always had a habit of counting their chickens before they hatched and at the last-minute and things would always go wrong.
You must have never saw this show before. Everytime someone found a way to get them out, she had a problem with it.
@@angelminaj617 she had a problem with it because the way out usually involved sacrificing their integrity. Sweet Daddy, shady Alderman Davis, JJ’s criminal roommates, Thelma’s disrespectful roommates, Thelma’s African fiancé who wanted her to be one of many wives…all of these ways out of the ghetto would have caused the characters more pain and heartache than sharing an apartment.
I love good times my favorite TV show of all time ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤📺📡📡📡📡📡📡📡📺📺📺📺📺📺📡📡📡📡❣️📡❣️📡📺❣️📺❣️📺❣️📡📺❣️

This Norman Lear was before his time. Great man! He wanted Michael to kiss this girl but the cast said that Michael was a militant black boy and it wouldn't play well in the black community. I think the cast won out.

Is 17 old enough to sign a lease without a cosigner? If I was the landlord, I wouldn't go for it.🤷
James Evans Senior would've been ok with Michael moving out but not like that.
Florida should mind her own business 😮😮😮😮😮
Tell Em Florida! I'm surprised at Michael with his revolutionary spirit and his knowledge of Black History. Common sense should kick in here where he could conceive what could happen between a man and woman in such close quarters; regardless of their belief in preservation and disbelief in Miscegenation.
It’s just a sitcom but let an intelligent character leave the ghetto on his own will.

He would 100 percent side with Florida,
He of all people would know how dangerous it is for a black boy to be with a white woman during these times

she wasn't holding him back, Michael thought he knew what he was doing until he met Cindy's parent and realized he was better off staying at home.
All mothers are like that
Not mine. All toxic moms are like that
I don't understand. going to college was a big step. Children move out every day at that age going to college. Why couldn't Michael move out. The writer didn't want them to do better they wanted them to stay in the project. Look at The oldest daughter she got married and still got stuck in the project. The show is depressing. People are supposed to do better not stay in the same place. If you keep watching this you will never leave the projects.
I don’t know what’s wrong with that girl how is she asking for a roommate for them to sleep on her couch? What kind of business is that? I am not paying anybody just to sleep on their couch. He obviously liked this woman.
