I'm glad I saw in your description that this is the easiest bargello EVER. It certainly is a brilliant idea! Normally I skip any bargello tutorial because they seem overwhelming to me as a beginner.

Thanks Donna for the new tutorial on this easy beautiful pattern, I've always been daunted by the bargello pattern, well I'll definitely give this a go. Thanks to you and your team. You've made it look easy.

Have been looking at many "how to" bargello quilts and i REALLY REALLY love this one. Problem is I would like to make a lap quilt and do not feel confident expanding this. You briefly discussed it at the end of the video and wouldn't it be great if you could expand that? :D :D :D You are my go to as I "learn" how to quilt!!!!! Much appreciation for you and Matt.......

I love the fabrics , looks like the ombré colors, and this pattern is so easy and fast....I do have to say tho, ironing is the key to successful piecing, makes a big difference. Thanks Donna

Wow! Amazing technique you have explored. I am looking forward to trying one of your methods that is step by step. As at present do not have the confidence to cut freely strips when matching the pattern , which has been demonstrated. Your grey design will eventually give me the confidence to gain a better insight to cutting fabrics after watching a few times. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise in bargello style. Peace and kindness with prayers. 👌☕

I wanted to make a bigger quilt using this pattern. I bought 4 yards of a purple ombre, cut it in half and sewed the 2 yards side by side. I now had a peice that is 72×88. I ended up with a quilt that measured 51×88.

I have done a quilt about 3 years ago with some (Australian) fabric specifically designed to make a bargello this way. The effect is great and even though I had some 'quilting police' tell me it is a 'cheaters bargello' I loved the effect and the easy way it is made. I have done bargello both ways and think both are as stunning as each other. Thank you for sharing this technique with us!

    • @Dottie237

quilting police? Something may be done an easier way but that doesn't make it any the less beautiful. I guess Thanksgiving dinner isn't authentic because we didn't go out and shoot the bird! As for me, I luv easy because it gives me more time to do more things.

Also, I've searched your website and can't find any of the Anthology ombre except stormy grey- blue, desert sunset, and Amazon green. Where are the other colors on the stack? Been looking for some ombre in the yellows and browns like the one you are using. I really like earth tones as well as jewel tones. Your fabric site doesn't show any of he earth tones. Went to Anthology official sit and left a message twice. They never returned my call. Finally found a site where I can find some different ombre colors. I've got a very strong feeling that I'm going to quickly become addicted to bargello!! Can't wait!! Can't wait!! Can't wait!! Woo Hoo!!!

At the end of the video you said that the finished purple was "one width of the fabric." I'm not sure how many yards to order because I'm not sure what that means. You can cut more strips from the same 2 yard piece of fabric to make a small quilt like my purple/pink quilt. It turned out about 69 x 30 inches. To make the quilt wider you will need to get a second 2 yard piece of fabric and just keep cutting strips and stitching on.
