EAC Mobile Laboratories Training on Antimicrobial Resistance and Monkeypox Diagnosis

The EAC Regional Network of Public Health Reference Laboratories for Communicable Diseases (Mobile Laboratories) Project aims to strengthen the EAC Partner States’ capacity to rapidly diagnose and respond to pathogens of biosafety level 3 and 4.
One key intervention under Phase II of the EAC Mobile Laboratories project is the training of laboratory experts to the required level of competency to operate the container-based mobile laboratories for Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) surveillance and to analyse pathogen whole genome sequence data for AMR Surveillance.
This training exposed the laboratory experts to technical requirement for AMR surveillance as well as Monkeypox diagnosis.
