I just appreciate how well these Calafoina highways were planned layout and built, as far as I can see I didn't see any major traffic jams, traffic just flows along. I wish other cities would build theirs in the same way.
I think you have not lived here, the traffic is terrible and the 118 is on the outskirts of the city by the hills headed to Simi Valley area but still the turn back onto the 405 heads back into the city and LAX. It does work well when nobody is on it but rush hours suck. I drove from thousand oaks for 18 years into the LAX area and it was 53 miles one way and sometimes took over 5 hours to get to work when the Pacific coast highway was blocked by falling boulders or fire or accidents or roadwork.

Gas mileage on those SUVs is actually better on a highway even if those higher speeds than in city traffic and stop-and-go traffic I know that because I own one

It is dangerous but its also really enjoyable to watch them catch someone who's decided to flee as though laws don't apply to them. If it wasn't, they wouldn't show it on air. but of course no one enjoys when there are crashes, major incidents or someone dies. We just want to see justice and success in apprehension for someone willing to put other drivers in danger with their reckless driving, someone who's participated in armed robbery, car jacking, etc. Nothing cringy about enjoying high speed pursuits while being acutely aware of the fact that police officers are putting their lives on the line while making an attempt of apprehending an individual who clearly has no care about anyone elses safety and only their freedom despite the actions they took that lead to the pursuit in the first place. Would be more concerning if it was a shoot out or watching a firefight in excitement as those are more likely to be a terrible outcome than a pit maneuver or boxing them in, ive rarely seen these things end in the death of someone. Some have and its devastating and no one is cheering when it happens. If their excitement was about a fireball crash, someone being shot on camera, or a major collision, resulting in the death of an innocent bystander then yes, it would be very problematic.
@@Sltydg27 It is enjoyable to watch, up to a point however the reason these people run from the police is because they want the notoriety and will get a hero's welcome from inmates when they arrive at the gaol they've just been sent to.
