And Dora Robertson, Those who think the police can do a better job should become a police officer to show others how to do a better job. When you’re out there, not knowing what a suspect is going to do and knowing that someone else might take shots at you & not knowing if you will not be going home to your family, you see things differently.
Unfortunately, there are thousands of dangerous narcissists out there. The covert narcissists are the most dangerous, because most people don’t realize they are narcissists. Covert narcissists😢 pretend to care & love. The only reason most narcissists don’t do more damage to others, including kill them, is 😮because they are afraid of being caught. It is very hard to get away with crime nowadays, especially murder… And one is always looking over their shoulder throughout the rest of their life, until they are caught. They actually feel relieved when they finally get caught, because looking over their shoulder keeps them drained way too much.
That's part of it but they also have it on their screens. The street names show up now, much like they do on google maps. You'll notice that they wait till it shows up on occasion. However, most of the time they do know there. Here in Michigan where I live they try their best to have the Michigan State Police(MSP) and local sheriffs officers work in their home towns whenever possible. There's a video of a chase in Kalamazoo here on You-Tube starting at a gas station. The cop whose dash camp we see for most of the video runs off the streets like no-bodies business. What bothers me most about these videos is how people do Monday morning QB'ing. At the start too many people complain about how they didn't nail him right away. I've been in that station numerous times and it's one of the busiest in all of the county. Always people coming and going, including people going in and out of the party store.
I'm so glad I didn't watch the full hour. The title led me to believe there would be a shooting in the video, but there wasn't. You might say the video has a misleading title.
Know this was 2 years ago but it just popped up in my feed. That someone could careless about others on the road is just horrendous. If they don’t care about their life then why put others in danger!?

@Merica First You're using military speak with your acronyms. Is that what you are referring to? What does driving a truck have to do with this? Police pursuits are highly regulated in many departments because of previous accidents, lawsuits etc.. Different departments have different rules and some do not allow pursuits except under all but the most grievous of circumstances. Since you are an expert, what is the SOP in regards to pursuits with the Columbus Police Department? They could have rammed him and caused a significant accident involving the fleeing driver, the innocent public and themselves very early on. That's not normally how things work except on TV or in the minds of novices.
Numerous videos show police being too restrained at points they should have been aggressive, and later on, innocent people getting killed, seriously injured (as what happened here), and victimized (again, what happened here when he was trying to carjack the people in that car before he was shot). Way at the beginning, when he took that interchange, the police pursuit SUV was RIGHT BEHIND him and could/should have used the PIT maneuver. No one was around greatly minimizing innocent people being involved. I am a big supporter of the police, but some of the restrained tactics police use in these 'woke' times seem to directly end up involving completely innocent people later on. There are NUMEROUS videos showing this.
I believe they cut off the ending of the video on purpose. If you go to the link on the full news story you'll find out that he was shot in the back six times and killed by a law enforcement officer. That might not look good for that cop. The story says that the guy started shooting at the cops from behind a car and that a gun was found near him. I believe he was shot by the cop that came from the other side of the freeway and got behind him as he was shooting at the other cops.
They never purposely show an officer (or anyone else) in an exchange of gunfire. That’s why it cut away so abruptly. As others have said, there was a shootout with law enforcement and he was finally killed by an officer. Apparently a really bad guy!!!
WELL , IF HE WANTED TO LIVE HE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIMSELF UP. ..THE OFFICERS HAD TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST A BAD GUY... THANKS 😊 🙏 TO THE 👏 PEOPLE WHO KNEW WHAT HAPPENED AT THE END!!
Being a retired cop, I'm glad to see that various governments haven't lost the ability to waste more time with various new procedures. I like the new requirement to get permission to do a pursuit. Wonders never cease!!
Pursuits put people in danger. If someone runs, nine times out of ten you know who they are and where they will go. If you don't, you can publish descriptions through local news agencies. If you let someone run and wait to collect them later, they'll likely stop, slow down, and otherwise not become a danger to the general public. The *only* time that a pursuit can be justified without prior authorization is when the person being chased is known for homicide and is likely to kill again.
@@Wolfsbane1100Agreed, they had an hour to catch the micro car. The police let him endanger lives. They needed that stopped in the first 10 minutes by the primary marked vehicle.
Also as a retired Cop I get what 3251941 is saying. For those who care, pursuits are amongst the most dangerous things an Officer does. It requires skill and all the best driving you could ever attempt to do in life. Most of the time Supervisors call off these things because they are so dangerous. As far as stopping him, some departments train Officers to do a "pit maneuver" This id pretty dangerous but the trained Officers usually do it without any major injuries. They hit a vital part of the vehicle and it causes the vehicle to spin out and stop.
@@Wolfsbane1100 😆 That's hilariously asinine on so many levels. Another TH-cam goofball LARPing as an expert who in reality doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.
Funny part is that was only about 1/4 of the city at most, as well as hugging their jurisdictional end. I would say good thing he didn't end up going into Westerville or they'd have wrecked his car and shot him to hell...but...he managed to find that on his own. Also I call BS on county saying they saw a gun, or 10-33 unless he waved it at them. I've been pursuits and that's just something too small to see while your all flying down the road, watch obstacles, accounting for brake fade, listen to the radio, and keep track of everyone's locations as your setting up a rolling parameter.
Sadly, there are numerous videos showing restrained tactics in chases, and later on innocent people injured or killed. There was one a few years back where a bunch of kids were being pursued. They made a U-turn on a wide boulevard and the police car was right beside them, and could have easily PITted them. But no. Later on, they ran into oncoming traffic and hit a guy crossing the street unaware he would be struck from behind. In this chase, the time that one police pursuit SUV was RIGHT behind the suspect on the interchange with NO ONE around was the perfect PIT opportunity.
His hands was up the helicopter guy even said it watch it again and the very end he bend down right before video ended. And in the other video the police shootong he is running and got his back to them
When will the cops learn , you take them out asap. Looks like he tried to take over another car with a weapon when video cuts away. Wasted an hour without learning what happened.
What the frack! Don’t post this stuff if it doesn’t have an ending. What the hell is that, over a one hour video only to cut out right at the end. Pissed!
Absolutely incredible the helicopter had enough fuel to endure this chase!! And whoever is handling the camera on board is excellent. Pretty nice not to see 25% of the bottom of screen eaten up by network banner replete with stock ticker, breaking news, weather, and oh yeah station ID and advertising obscuring the action in full opacity :)
It was only an hour, how long do you think helicopters can fly? It could easily have went 3x longer while still having fuel reserved to get it back to the landing pad. Should it have went that long, they would have sent another one so that this one would be dismissed.
Duh, so helicopters don't usually fly for more than an hour, yeah that sounds about right. I think Jet only fly for 10 minutes but prop jets can go 18 minutes. Dang news banners!!!
@@jonny6702 well, considering right about the one hour mark they started discussing getting cars engaged and another chopper in the air because they only had enough fuel to push it maybe another 45 mins, O.P.’s comment wasn’t that far off 🤷🏻♀️
What’s the point of watching this, to not see the end of it? And the pursuit was almost over before there was any mention of stop sticks. Can anyone explain this? I totally understand the liability involved with police pursuits and the safety of the public, but where were the stop sticks way earlier in the chase?
No. Columbus handled the pursuit properly. They had their units back off and was monitoring the suspect via helicopter with a second helicopter prepared to take over when the first one got too low on fuel. When Columbus backed off the chopper pilots reported that the perp was - for the most part - moving at normal speeds. It wasn't until the Franklin County Sheriff's Dept. units approached the vehicle near the end (despite Columbus telling its CPD units to back off) that the perp panicked and began going the wrong direction on the freeway. The crash was the result of the Sheriff Deputies' unwise actions. At the request of dispatch, the chopper had climbed to 2000 feet at about halfway through the chase - well out of view of a motorist concentrating on driving/fleeing. With (I believe 4) police choppers in their fleet, they could have followed this guy all day until he bailed or ran out of gas. He wasn't going to get away. When the chase was on Cleveland Avenue (the Linden area of Columbus) and there were no police cars in sight, believe me, that was intentional. I live in that area and you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a cop car. Since the city acquired helicopters about 20 years ago, they adopted a "no hot pursuit" policy once the aircraft are involved. As you saw, it is just too dangerous for innocent people.
Every one of those cops should be fired for letting him go when they had five!!!! Five !!¡ Cars around him and let him escape!!!! Like they were afraid he would scuff their cruiser!!? Dumasses!!!
Fascinating listening to the great teamwork between the spotter & pilot but so, so frustrating to not see it through to the end …. WTF happened to him???
They had a chance to PIT him when he made a U turn but they didn't. And now he's allowed to drive the wrong way risking a head on. It just baffles my mind why cops do that.
I really should have read a few comments before wasting an hour for this ending. I just want to say great job by all officers involved. Now all of you are fired. Blame the person who shut off this video🤣🤣🤣.
We can watch graphically violent movies, play video games where you can make kill shots to the head, etc, but they won't show a scumbag who put lot's of people's lives in danger and possibly actually injured some, get riddled with bullets. What the h?
Well, u tube cut off my post before so I’ll use niceynice language this time. If you zoom in on the last 10 frames of this video, you can plainly see the perpetrator clearly takes out his gun and points it at the folks in the blue colored car at the very end. Trying to carjack them to get away? Who knows.
With the crosshairs projected on the screen I was waiting for a "whoosh" from a Sidewinder and then a nice, big explosion. This vid could have used that kind of action.
Yes they didnt handle it propley. If they wouldve been on. His ass and lights on the other cars wouldve moved out the way. But they just let him go through traffic and people didnt know until he past them
What happens there. An idiot drives around for more than an hour at an inappropriate speed, endangering people and the police do nothing, every now and then comes into view of the helicopter and disappears again.Even the Dutch or Swedish police would have gone after 10 minutes, this shitty car rammed into the street.
How does anyone expect they would get away from the Police with a Police helicopter following them? They must know they are being pursued by a Police helicopter; all they have to do is look up and they'd see the Police helicopter.
If you didn't piss about with these clowns for over an hour, this wouldn't have happened. Because of police incompetence, there's been a nasty head on crash and someone else is probably injured and their vehicle wrecked. Get your act together (cops) and apprehend the crooks quickly by any means at your disposal, instead of stringing it out into a soap opera.
Such pursuit could endanger the lives of the police themselves and the lives of other road users. I think the police are too weak and their actions are not appropriate. the criminal should be killed immediately before causing other victims.

This driver should be locked up and never let out again. Just by driving in oncoming traffic, he put the lives of dozens of people in danger.
I guess they could lock up his corpse but that seems like a waste of a jail cell...lol.

The most amazing thing about this video is cops are actually doing their jobs for a change Honestly though I must take my hat off to them they did a great job saving lives
The law enforcement always does a great job with making their decisions in real time compared to those watching this video who think they are more intelligent because they watch, reverse, watch again and again then render their opinion which is exciting and admirable. Not. But always good for a laugh.
We love cops. ❤ Thank you.
And Dora Robertson,
Those who think the police can do a better job should become a police officer to show others how to do a better job.
When you’re out there, not knowing what a suspect is going to do and knowing that someone else might take shots at you & not knowing if you will not be going home to your family, you see things differently.
Showing a shooting will get the poster demonotised by U tube.
Follow from behind chopper, and NEVER on the suspects drivers side, always passenger side in his blind spot!
If you're not going to show this til the very end, why bother showing it at all?
darn it, watched this for an hour and 12 minutes and they cut it short with him not getting shot
The world breathed a little better when he took his last. Wow, what a misfit!
Did he die?
Do what your told when getting pulled over so you don’t die.
Those people who disobey police are better off dead. Let them die. I don't care.
All these cops must know the layout of the entire city. If a street is called out they know where to go from where they are at, impressive to me.
Qà
But THEY DONT SEEM TO KNOW THE ROADS NAMES OR THE PROPER DIRECTIONS THEY ARE FLOWING.

There are NUMEROUS videos showing this.
gross clownish incompetence by; how many involved??
I believe they cut off the ending of the video on purpose. If you go to the link on the full news story you'll find out that he was shot in the back six times and killed by a law enforcement officer. That might not look good for that cop. The story says that the guy started shooting at the cops from behind a car and that a gun was found near him. I believe he was shot by the cop that came from the other side of the freeway and got behind him as he was shooting at the other cops.
Yeah, at the end you can see him pointing the gun towards the oncoming far lane across the hood of the car.
After what this loser did to get to this overpass I have no problem at all with him getting shot in the back.
Well six times. Was no reason for 6 times. He couldve tazed him
What news was that on

Waste of time, thankfully I fast forwarded to the end and did not waste an hour.
They never purposely show an officer (or anyone else) in an exchange of gunfire. That’s why it cut away so abruptly. As others have said, there was a shootout with law enforcement and he was finally killed by an officer. Apparently a really bad guy!!!
I hope your right!
WELL , IF HE WANTED TO LIVE HE SHOULD HAVE GIVEN HIMSELF UP.
..THE OFFICERS HAD TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST A BAD GUY...

God will show the ending. What ever in the dark will come to light
The supervisor was the problem. He should have let his men Pitt him out, instead of allowing ppl to be endangered.
@Harley Rider 07 That seems to be how the supervisors miss-call these chases--sitting behind the computer.

There are two or more helicopters in the sky, I think.

What’s the point of watching this, to not see the end of it? And the pursuit was almost over before there was any mention of stop sticks. Can anyone explain this? I totally understand the liability involved with police pursuits and the safety of the public, but where were the stop sticks way earlier in the chase?
What makes these people think that they can get away from a hilicopter with using a just a vehicle???
It can be done, there's a couple of vids of people getting away. Look up the Dodge charger vid. It's a trip
Almost did in the tunnel.
The sucks when you watch that much video and they don't show the takedown.
Good analysis. It's kind of messed up how they have to make decisions based on keeping the criminal calm and not making a speedy arrest.
Columbus Police have had helicopters since the 1970's
I'm in in😢
All cities and states should aprove a law that fines the runaway vehicle for the time the chase is in place.
