SUSPECTS CAUGHT: Following lengthy police chase through streets of Downtown Los Angeles

- Police were in pursuit of an SUV traveling at high speeds carrying at least one robbery suspect that started in Glendale on Tuesday afternoon.
The pursuit began around 3:30 p.m.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirms the driver of the SUV being chased by officers is wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in Highland Park.
The vehicle traveled on the wrong side of the road, ran stop lights and was throwing items out of a rear passenger-side window.

The driver of the SUV in that pursuit has crashed and tried to flee on foot, but was chased down by officers.
One other suspect involved in that pursuit has also been taken into custody in Echo Park.

Safe way to stop criminals in 2018: follow them around at high speeds for 2 hours until they crash into a bus stop.
The guy's hopelessly blocked in by traffic (31:30), but instead of rushing the car the police obligingly wait until the street clears to allow the chase to continue. This is sitcom stuff.

When I drove 18 wheelers there was a police chase coming from behind. I heard on the CB about it coming my way. I pulled up next to a driver motioned for him to get on the cb. I said cops chasing car our way numerous miles. Want to play squeeze play on him. So we did.
Afterwords the police said " A Huge thank YOU we were chasing him for an hour. Thank you.
I asked what did he do.
He replied "YOU do NOT want to know. But it was pretty BAD!"

I liked watching the whole chase here on YT, it's entertaining. I'am from Northern Germany and never been to US at all. As Pilar Arias is not located at LA at all, she did a good job. Spontaneous and a bit funny too.

The people in the background when the spike strips were no good at 46:25 really flipped my lid. Like I'm sorry it's hard for police officers to be PERFECT at their spoke strip placement. But for the woman in the back to say how embarrassing when they were not working is very disrespectful. Let's see you do a better job lady considering you are just watching and not actually in the police shoes stopping this person.

FINALLY after years of watching LA pursuits, I now know the entire area from the air. It's fairly obvious these guys stayed off the highways and went straight for downtown, because (a) there are parking structures, (b) you have better chance of gaining a lead by jumping red lights, (c) it limits the CHP / Sheriff's choppers field of view and (d) provides crowded public areas or stores to improve getaway chances at foot pursuit. What they did wrong was (a) choose a SUV. Slow Useless vehicle.
