I’ve been driving the same truck model, a Volvo, which comes with a 10-speed Automatic. With full, or near full fuel tanks this truck can cover at least 1,200 to1,500 miles befor it runs out of diesel. Also, I don’t think he’s worried about his maximum legal driving hours.
I think it’s the adrenaline rush for him but we’ll never see him driving 18 wheelers anytime during his life time after spending time in prison for theft and refusing to pull over for CHP.

You don’t understand how many other helicopters there are, especially the police helicopters, and they all have to coordinate with each other, with the police getting the lowest air space. These pilots are flying up to 2500 feet above the event, and when near an airport, there are no fly zones, so a tree is the least of their worries.

I’m a truck driver. That semi has 2 150 gallon tanks for a total of 300 possible on board. Also, the “ACT” doesn’t tell what is in the trailer. If it were carrying anything corrosive it would be labeled with triangular placards.

He probably drove for swift because he couldn't afford his own rig, and when he thought he saved enough to get a loan the bank was like, "no way in hell we are financing for a former swift driver." This is still the most unique police chase I've ever seen. This man loves trucking, and he knew that once he stopped, his opportunity to drive another big rig is over. Handled that truck like a pro!
One thing I take from this he has to be schooled well at driving a large big rig. When or if he's paid for the crime. He would make for a great long hauler for companies who support second chance programs.

Hi Eddie, it is Susan with an apology for my mistake... I was thinking that when the semi was going slow up the hills that a spike could slow him down. I always wanted a safe ending so was really surprised to see him pull into a parking lot. I love watching all the pursuits on TH-cam, and this time to see all the scenery too. Hope you'll forgive me. This is still the most unique police chase I've ever seen. This man loves trucking, and he knew that once

One thing I take from this he has to be schooled well at driving a large big rig.

He has driven a semi before by how smooth the uturn was. You just don’t learn that naturally in a semi
Really sucks that Fox never posts an update on the charges and resulting sentence.
Years later after the incident, I keep watching this video three times every week, its still fresh in our memory, despite many police chase that have been reported, this one is unique, a real movie without field editors, music composers, screen designers, and all the film characters we know.

If those tanks are full of fuel he's got a long drive ahead of him and he seems to know what he's doing he seems to be driving that rig pretty doggone good so he must be a really good truck driver even though he's committed a crime by stealing the truck he seems to know what he's doing he doesn't seem to be drunk or on drugs or anything he's staying in the lane he's pretty good drunk driver don't you think and if those tanks are full this could be a long story

Super cool to see how respectfully the cops treated the suspect. They weren't rough or use extreme force. After 3 frustrating hours those cops were awesome!
