  • HOW TO MAKE EASY & SUPER SOFT HOMEMADE WHOLE-WHEAT TORTILLA
    INGREDIENTS
    2 cup whole wheat flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    2 tbsp olive oil
    3/4 cup hot water
    INSTRUCTIONS
1- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix briefly to combine, then add olive oil. Stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2- Pour in warm water and stir to combine. Knead briefly until the mixture comes together into a craggy dough.
3- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured work surface. Divide into 6 roughly equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball. Cover balls of dough with a plastic wrap, and allow to rest for at least 15 minutes.
4- Roll each dough ball into a pretty thin circle (Thick tortillas won’t be tender).
5- Transfer tortillas into medium size hot skillet. Cook for about 1 minute, until small bubbles form on the top and brown spots form on the bottom surface. (If it takes much longer than a minute, increase the heat slightly.) Flip and cook the other side for about 30 seconds.
6- Remove from the pan and wrap the tortillas in a clean kitchen towel. (This will keep them soft, and warm.)

You know, in india, this is what most people eat! Except they use any kind of oil and they don’t add baking soda.
    Really well explained!

@@labourerplop5034 Yes. It is something that most Indians eat on a daily basis. Of course without the addition of baking soda. If boiling hot water is added to the flour while making the dough, it softens the chapattis even more, denaturing the gluten

Thank you for this video. About how many inches do you roll them out to? You tonly need to cook it on each side once? How long will they stay fresh on the kitchen counter in a towel for an after a period of days is it better to wrap them in tinfoil and or a Ziploc bag? Thank you

Can I make these for meal preps? Just cook them and store to make each day a fresh egg wrap? Like if they were store bought?
