Nice recipe. Can you suggest the weight of chilies to be used instead of numbers and the weight of dals instead of a cup measure? I wish to make one cup measure of each item so how much chilies I need to put for this quantity. And which type of chilies to be used. Can I use chily powder instead of chilies, if yes then powder also needs to be dry roasted?
Yes, sure .. I have used Guntur spicy red chillies and have given in number.. .. it will not taste good with chilli powder
Wonderful recipe. But my amma never used oil to roast the daals. Can i roast without oil?
Yes, you can
I prepare this chutney powder.thxs amma.

Not required

So the ratio of chana Dal, urad Dal and sesame is 1:1:1 ?
yes
Do you wash the dals n chillies before roasting? Please reply :)
not necessary
Can we add mustered seeds and curry leaves while making the powder
Yes you can add curry leaves. But better not to grind mustard seeds
Gita Ma'am, can i use this powder in other recipes? If so, in which dishes can i use this?
Generally this is used only as side dish or as pods idli or dosa. When short of time you can add to curd ad make a raita
