  • Can this be for real? With your help, yes indeed!
I animate with DragonFrame software and the USB controller.
The slider unit is by Edelkrone, and I'll cover using that in a separate video.

Here's the deal: we love YOU. We love what you do, we love your content, most importantly we're here for YOU, no matter what you do. Whatever makes YOU happy, makes US happy! For example, everyone loves Bob Ross and watching him paint, but I can guarantee that if he had a show of him building something or even reading a book, as long as he talked to us and it still felt like Bob Ross, everyone would still love it. They're there for Bob much more than just the painting.
My point is: You do you and the rest will come :)

Jus my two cents, I love your instructional videos and often go back and rewatch them, I hope there will be more of them, but if there was only one or two a year and the rest of your videos were your own animations I'd still be a patron and a regular viewer. Your work stands for itself and I'm always delighted to see it.
Just be careful with the pastoral work on the back end, I know that being of service to others is the reason we were put here, but make sure that you have time to refresh and gladden your spirit too.

Awesome. Love dragonframe. Btw if you paint the stands you are using to hold the ‘puppet’ up for stop motion, a chroma green or blue, that would give you another option for removing it from the background.

    • @TheCrafsMan
      @TheCrafsMan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +63

That is an excellent idea! The closest thing I had was some translucent green Bionicle parts, but I never once considered I could straight PAINT the parts chroma green. :D Thank you for suggesting this!

@@TheCrafsMan sometimes I use chroma green gaffers tape - if the stand doesn't need to move a lot. I don't wrap the tape around.Instead I just lightly tack the tape on the visible side of the stand, makes it easier to remove and move if needed. not sure what kind of paint you'd need to use on your stand...spraypaint?

SNAP! Thank you all for the additional feedback! I've experienced green spill on larger backdrops (like my green construction paper "screen" used in the Lord of the Rings video - LOL) and generally combat that using distance, so I'll definitely pay attention to how much spill we get from the rig itself. One of my favorite channels is DoubleBoost from John Mills. After watching him for many years, rarely does he do something particularly new or unusual, but I like spending time with him. I can watch him cutting threads or brazing a broken casting all day long. He is delightful. Same goes for you, CrafsMan. It's spending time with someone whose company I enjoy, while they do something they love. That is time well spent. Yes I love the content, the voice is fantastically calming, but mostly it feels like we grew up together (although I don’t know you at all) but this is the channel myself or my friends would have tried to make either then or today, same interests, same ideas on creativity, especially the era of toys you use in the videos, but how you use them is so nostalgic of my life with my friends when we were kids it’s like we were friends as kids. It amazes me while watching your videos how comfortable I am with what your content is. I consider myself extremely observant (and a bit of a perfectionist) so I really think anything you endeavor to do will come out great because I notice you put a LOT of thought and expertise into everything you do. You seem to be obsessive about learning how to make everything look and sound as perfect as possible. Camera settings, framing, color, audio, light, you seem to like having tight control over these things. You remind me a lot of myself. I jump from thing to thing a lot, and I'm obsessed with learning how to grapple with these things at a high level of proficiency. The quality shines through. Seriously dude, take my word for it.

I do enjoy trying out the crafts you show, though I do usually just watch your craftin videos to enjoy the video. Watching you do any sort of your "how to" videos helps me think about the ways I can jump on my personal projects. So I hope you keep showing us how you pursue your passions! I especially like your sound design video, the font making video, and the cut-mold figure videos. Those are things I would never even think I could do, but your videos show I could have some fun with it if I just try and play around with it. I'm lookin for some little figures that I want to make copies of so I can try the cut mold figures. Whatever you do, know that your videos bring me (and a lot of people) positivity. I know you're not talking about quitting youtube here, but I hope you don't feel forced to make content. I've already shown your channel to several friends and created a network of Brazilian fans, when a new video comes out we spent the night watching it together! Brazilians love your channel. If any American fan can make the subtitles in English because some words we don't understand, it would help us a lot. Congratulations and success always! 😍

Thank you so much for this wonderful comment!
I apologize for the lack of subtitles on most of the videos. We recently had someone volunteer to go through (starting with most recent and working backwards) making subtitles, which turned out great. But they've had to move on due to work changes, so the ball is back in my court. I will look into the subtitle services and see how that works - it might be economical enough to do for videos going forward (but hopefully the people at the subtitle place will understand what I'm saying. LOL!)
Thank you for the honest and constructive feedback! And thank you (and friends in Brazil) for watching! :D

I have watched your videos for the past year or two, and while your figure making techniques are what hooked me, it's been the quality, the humor, the personality and your creativity that set you apart. There are several techniques of yours that I have adopted in my own making projects, but there are also many that I do not see myself attempting any time soon, for a myriad of reasons. But, I enjoy your posts, regardless, and look forward to them each week, just to see what you're up to and to see the creative process unfold in new ways. You just keep on doing your thing crafsman, you will have support, one way or another. Thank you, sir and God bless.

I love you, Crafsman! You've given me so much wholesome enjoyment, man. You deserve to be happy, no matter what you wanna do.
We're here to watch you. You're the one we love. Whatever you make as a byproduct of being you is just icing on the cake!
You're infinitely precious, already. God loves you, no matter what. And so do all your friends, out here.
We all just want you to be happy, man! 😊
    God bless.

The old tub of Legos really is something that everyone has, huh? Glad to see I'm not the only one!
On a more serious note, I am very excited to see what you will do next, Crafsman - animation, toy manufacturing, restoration, heck, even shoe shining - as long as it's Crafsman Certified™, it's gonna be a great watch!
Even if it has nothing to do with wristwatches!

That intro had me dying! 😁😁😁😂😂
I love watching your evolution regardless of where it takes you. It has truly been one of the best things about TH-cam the past few years. Seriously…. no exaggeration.
    Stress can kill,
It’s been a rough few years, don’t want to make this about my own problems but I spent the last two years living at the hospital….
Hardest years ever,…I would retreat to my truck and keep a playlist going until I could rest my mind. before going back in hospital. Two years straight. And your videos gave me a bit of relief on a lot of days where I really had wished I was dead.
watching your enjoyment of projects helped me a lot, you and your whole community are so positive, and it helped me care for my mom in her last days
Regardless of good times or bad…..Watching you evolve and grow your experience has been a real treat! And it will be a blast watching you no matter what you choose
Crafsman, AvE, big Clive….be my top 3.
I don’t remember another creator who brought me as much joy and entertainment.
You do you crafsman! That’s what we are here for.

      I love that colorful outfit.
      Very 1991 David Ike style.
You could call it “Godhead chic”
      😂😁
      sorry couldn’t help myself

I was a traditional 2D animator for a number of years and recognise all your reference books. Preston Blair etc.
I thought you might have been an animator, judging from some of the work you have shown on your channel. Your art style, drawing and sculpting tells me that too.
Do what makes you happy and at a pace that you can healthily sustain. You are living the dream and a lot of us are vicariously along for the ride.
I'm certain your audience will stick with you. I'll be watching for sure.

    Crafsman,
My favorite videos of yours are the toy making videos. I actually do use them to learn from them, as I want to make toys as a hobby. I recently started molding my piece and well I did mess up, but that's because I didn't seal my container all the way. Regardless I want to thank you for your videos, as they have shown me the ways that I can make toys. I am also glad you are finally pursuing animation.
    Take care,
    Noah

Crafsman, I've been one of your subscribers for the longest time (I still remember your channel when you had less than 10k subscribers). I still love your earliest content where your microphone and sound quality wasn't quite as polished. YOU as a creator have remained the same amazing individual all this time and your content you create as a result has remained so relaxing and enjoyable.
I've even dabbled in some of the simpler crafts projects you've done and I've NEVER been a crafty person! I'm gonna become a direct supporter this month, I pray for yours and your family's wellbeing and continued success going forward. I hope you find more happiness and fulfilment being able to flex your creativity in new and fun ways!

Its just a nice brain break to watch people do things theyre excited about and share that in a fun, casual and knowledgeable way.
Thanks for what you do, Crafsman, and I hope you continue to strive to do the things you love doing. I'll be here for the ride :)

Crafsman, you have helped me on many projects that had me stumped because you were working on something that was very similar to what I was doing and I was able to apply your knowledge to my situation. I don't think I have ever thanked you for that, nor for the many hours of videos that I enjoyed watching, even if they had nothing to do with any of my own work in progress. So, for that I apologize, and I want to thank you for all of the great ideas and entertaining content you have shared with all of us.
I hope this year is kind to you and the whole Crafsfamily, and that you find happiness in all of your pursuits. Stay well, my friend.

so back in 2020 I found out about and was treated for brain cancer. not long after that, my fiance introduced me to your channel. I'm disabled now and don't work but I always watch your videos. they've brought me so much happiness even when I feel down (like I did today). your skill and dedication? the production quality? your comedic timing???? BIG chef's kiss. I don't have any personal interest in doing the kinds of things that you do (my fiance does though) but I love your videos. why? because you're AMAZING. both you as a person and what you do. you could put out a video once a year and I would be grateful that you wanted us to join you in a discussion about whatever topic you went over. I hope you know that you're great and that you deserve good things. we don't want you to feel pressured or stressed in any way. I can't imagine how it has been with such a following. just know that whatever you do, and however often you choose to do it, we'll be right here supporting you!
