new subscriber! I'm looking forward to hearing more of your reviews! I'm like you I feel that as I am reviewing I'm giving less 5 stars as I'm reading. And probably a lot of my top 5 would go down now...... A lot of your top books are part of my TBR but found a few new ones. Looking forward to reading them!
The Pomegranate Gate was one of my favorite releases of 2023! I read the ARC and loved it so much I ordered the Waterstones edition. I cannot wait for book 2, Republic of Salt, which is set to release this year!
I love love love Red Rising too! I’ve only read the first two books so far but this year I’m starting over and reading it all in preparation for Red God’s eventual release. So many of these others are on my TBR and now I’m even more excited to get to them.
No one was surprised at your fave book 😂😂 I've heard the synopsis of Red rising so often now, I think that I too can recite it on command 😂 Love your faves ❤ they're mostly on my goodreads tbr ❤
I am SO DESPERATELY HOPING that Saara El-Arifi sticks the landing with The Ending Fire later this year... aahhhh!!! Because yeah book one and two were both a SOLID five stars (which is quite rare for me lol). I gave Faebound 4 stars so I wasn't quite as obsessed with it, but still really solid and fun.
I f*cking KNEW that a Pierce Brown book HAD to be your top book of the year!! ⛏️ 🐦🔥 My top book of 2023 was Terms & Conditions by Lauren Asher & I Found Puppets Living In My Apartment Walls!! ❤❤❤
I wish I had felt rejuvenated and like I had a good reading year at the end of my best books list but sadly no. Fingers crossed for 2023 though! Oh and my best book of 2023 was The Blade Itself, which I picked up because of you so thanks!
Have you ever watched The Discovery of Witches” series??? I watched that first, and then it got me interested in the books Teresa Palmer is the perfect Diana IMO 💜🙏
A Discovery Of Witches is my favourite book of ALL TIME!!! I must have read it and the rest of the series 20+ times, no joke! There’s the 5th book, The Blackbird Oracle publishing in July 2024! I cannot WAIT! Matthew is my favourite bookish male, though! Otherwise my favourite book of 2023 is Barbarian Alien by Ruby Dixon! I just love Raahosh and Liz!
I'd love to know your thoughts on the second Discovery Of Witches book because I loved the first and hated the second! It took me months to finish and nearly DNF'd several times 😂
I used to swear that I would never read red rising, and was frankly quite annoyed by the amount people recommended me it 'cause i was not bloody interested, but i think you might have won me over in 2023... i kinda now really wanna read it and i used to say that is one hyped book i would not touch... also, great to see that ali hazelwood love! i really should continue with her past the love hypothesis.
I am exactly the same!! I don’t see Adam as hot and I didn’t understand the connection to reylo at all but I LOVE the love hypothesis 😄 the year I read it it was one of my favourite romance reads
My favourite books / series of '23: To Bleed a Crystal Bloom Spark of the Everflame - Kindred's Curse Lady of Darkness Rain of Shadows and Endings Daughter of no Worlds A Crown of Oaths and Curses Throne in the Dark The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
Adam Driver exposure therapy 😂😂😂 Dead. I read the first paragraph of Red Riding for the first time a couple days ago & my jaw literally dropped. I was so sad I had to put it down to finish the books I’m currently reading 😅 Did I tell myself I’m only going to buy the next book in a series after finishing the previous one? Yes. Did I buy Lightbringer at Barnes & Noble because it’s signed? Yes I did. I won’t be taking any questions or comments 😂 It’s just how it is 😂
Discovery of Witches is one of my all time favourites. I reread it every year, the second book is my favourite of the whole series. I hope you continue reading the series because I think you'll love a lot of the other characters that make an appearance in the other books. Also the fifth book is coming out this year, summer cannot come soon enough so I can buy it.
I wish you luck with the rest of the All Souls Trilogy. I absolutely loved "A Discovery of Witches," but personally the final two books just got progressively more disappointing. Not terrible; the writing remains the same, the scope remains the same, the historical inserts are great; but how plot points are handled made me rate them lower than the first.
I loved Gideon the Ninth! Harrow was meh but Nona redeemed the series for me. I'm so excited for Alecto coming out this year. 😍 Great list of beloved reads! 📚 💖 My favorite of 2023 was Wolfsong by T.J. Klune!
Here's my list Spare by prince harry The mind series by s.t abby Tell me everything by minka Kelly memoir Delilah green doesn't care The fiancee farce Any man by amber tamblyn Reminders of him by colleen hoover Someday maybe Blood sugar by sacha Rothschild
I buy books I know I'm gonna love and then convince myself that I shouldn't read them because what if they don't live up to the hype but they usually do lmao
The Fourth Wing hype frustrates me beyond belief. The premise felt a little too similar to one of my all time favorite trilogies - The Aurelian Cycle. Which is SO well written, great political world building, morally gray storylines, LGBTQ rep, amazing character dynamics & delves into the exploration of trauma that is soul crushing. It’s YA BUT reads leaps and bounds more maturely than Fourth Wing.. it does everything Fourth Wing tried to do & the fact that Rosaria Munda doesn’t get the Hype she deserves for it makes me so sad.
I love that A Discovery of Witches also made it to your favorites of 2023 is also a favorite of 2023 for me :)
YES!!! The Final Strife is SO underrated and needs so much more hype!!

I bought the illustrated Mythos book for my son, for Christmas. He loves it!
The Pomegranate Gate was one of my favorite releases of 2023! I read the ARC and loved it so much I ordered the Waterstones edition. I cannot wait for book 2, Republic of Salt, which is set to release this year!
as an AVID becca watcher i’m so positive lightbringer is #1!!!
I love love love Red Rising too! I’ve only read the first two books so far but this year I’m starting over and reading it all in preparation for Red God’s eventual release.
So many of these others are on my TBR and now I’m even more excited to get to them.
Someone I know shared your channel with me! I love how you break down books! You have made me pick up red rising again! Thank you!
No one was surprised at your fave book 😂😂 I've heard the synopsis of Red rising so often now, I think that I too can recite it on command 😂

Yaasssss!!! Red Rising! I've been telling everyone to read it for years.
Listening to you talking about A Discovery of Witches makes me wanna try and re read it because it sounds completely different than my experience 😂
I felt the same way about The Last House on Needless Street. I also went in knowing nothing, and I thought it was brilliantly executed.
I just put all the ones I haven’t read yet on hold at the library 😂 you are so good at explaining books, jt makes me want to read everything!
I f*cking KNEW that a Pierce Brown book HAD to be your top book of the year!! ⛏️ 🐦🔥
My top book of 2023 was Terms & Conditions by Lauren Asher & I Found Puppets Living In My Apartment Walls!! ❤❤❤
i just put The Last House on Needless Street on hold at the library bc of this video!

Ok. I put The Final Strife and The Pomegranate Gate on my list!😂❤

So glad you loved Needless street. So good! I need to get to battle drum asap
yessss, all the final strife love!!
This is why I have introduced a 6th star. The bar raised and I needed the rating system to raise too!
Light Bringer was also my best book of 2023 🥰
I'd love to know your thoughts on the second Discovery Of Witches book because I loved the first and hated the second! It took me months to finish and nearly DNF'd several times 😂
My fav book of 2023 was The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss ❤
ok i need to read the pomegranate gate like now
Think you should do a whole series recap for red rising for when the last book is released. Like you do for Crescent City.
It's super good. I told my coworker about it last year and he caught up with the series before end of the year, lol.
You make me wanna read the Red Rising series
I am exactly the same!! I don’t see Adam as hot and I didn’t understand the connection to reylo at all but I LOVE the love hypothesis 😄 the year I read it it was one of my favourite romance reads
I've owned gideon the night for around 2 years now 😭 I need to get to it!
When you described Gideon of the Ninth and you couldn’t read it, it was like woah this is therapy and it is looking into my soul 😅
My favorite book of 2023 was Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam.
Curious - have you read The Black Witch Chronicles by Laurie Forest?
My favourite books / series of '23:
To Bleed a Crystal Bloom
Spark of the Everflame - Kindred's Curse
Lady of Darkness
Rain of Shadows and Endings
Daughter of no Worlds
A Crown of Oaths and Curses
Throne in the Dark
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
I still need to start the red rising series 🥲
i’m guessing your favourite is light bringer!🖤
Adam Driver exposure therapy 😂😂😂 Dead.

I agree completely and totally with everything you said. LOL. I can’t wait for July 16, 2024.
I wish you luck with the rest of the All Souls Trilogy. I absolutely loved "A Discovery of Witches," but personally the final two books just got progressively more disappointing. Not terrible; the writing remains the same, the scope remains the same, the historical inserts are great; but how plot points are handled made me rate them lower than the first.
me: should i try red rising after all?
Becca comments on Shakespeare and drama --> nope nope nope
I loved Gideon the Ninth! Harrow was meh but Nona redeemed the series for me. I'm so excited for Alecto coming out this year. 😍
Great list of beloved reads! 📚 💖
My favorite of 2023 was Wolfsong by T.J. Klune!
Has to be Lightbringer right? 😏😊 Yay A Discovery of Witches made it on the list!
I'm guessing Lightbringer was your 2023 favorite.
Definitely Fourth Wing and Iron Flame 😊 and all of Ali Hazelwood’s adult books were equal favourites

New red rising book
The Fourth Wing hype frustrates me beyond belief. The premise felt a little too similar to one of my all time favorite trilogies - The Aurelian Cycle.

There is no way the top book in not Lightbringer!!! 🤣😂🤣
I'm sorry, but that pic over your shoulder is making it hard to focus on what you're saying :P
that.... Rhysand..??? pic art behind you is very distracting.
