I think a lot of the problem with the wheel of time is that there are literally 2,787 named characters in the series and a lot of them are similar. (Theres literally two horses, one named daishar and one named tai'daishar, a character called telsyn and a character called tylin) and its a lot to keep track of. When I read them for the first time last year I also kept getting confused. It took me so long to get through books 8-10 but I remember that I read a gathering storm in a day and a half. I think you'll be satisfied with how sanderson quickens the pace and starts tying off loose storylines. Its about to go by a lot faster and I think you'll be satisfied with it by the end.
My last book was percy jackson and the olympians #3 and it was pretty nice. It was a 180 from the book before it, Quicksilver 😂 not bad, I enjoyed it well enough. And my first book of the year is once upona broken heart which I'm loving actually. Hope this year is an amazing reading year for you, unlike 2024
Becca when I tell you I started WoT last year because of you 😂 I finished book 3 and loved it, but now I'm so apprehensive towards the later half of this series. I do hope the final 3 books will turn it arounf for you ❤ Also 2024 was a year full of frustrating main characters 😔😔
Never say never with Wheel of Time. The Gathering Storm, book 12, is greatly loved by the fans. I would rank it in my Top 3 WOT books. The other 2 books are also loved.
My last book of 2024 was Cardcaptor Sakura omnibus 4, which I recommend for any manga fan or anyone wanting to specifically get into magical girl manga! It’s soooooo easy to read. Obviously go with omnibus 1 first.
My last book was The day of the triffids by John Wyndam. Mainly because I was in Spotify jail and wanted to listen to something while I was gardening. It's summer in NZ although not always as I live in Dunedin. Also Jen Campell keeps talking about him as an author and I was intrigued. It is very dated but funny. There are sequels to it written by other people which is also interesting. Happy New Year. Love ya content🎉🎉🎉🎉
The last book I finished was The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix, and I was in the middle of bingeing Fourth Wing for the first time as the clock hit midnight.
I just finished book 8 of WoT but haven’t experienced any slog yet. I guess we’ll see as I continue but I’ve been enjoying this series a lot more than when I read those books first as a young teenager when it was unfinished. Last book of 2024 was the Stephen Fry narration of the first Harry Potter book - loved it!
My last book of 2024 was Edge of Valor by Kyla Stone - that series was a good page-turning palate cleanser in between other books, but honestly, I'm glad I was done with it before 2025 started! 📘💙
The last book I finished was Jane Austen at Home by Lucy Worsley, which I really enjoyed, but it came after a little slump leading up to Christmas and I decided I couldn't risk anything else, lol. I was in the middle of a few other things, but decided to end my 2024 reading on a good note.
Lovely Runner definitely had me in a chokehold this year too 😂 I recommend Twinkling Watermelon if you have access! It’s time travel as well but more found family mystery! A son goes back in time to when his father was a teen (and prior to an incident that takes his hearing).
Omg I adore Lovely Runner, my fav kdrama of 2024 by far! I rewatched it over Christmas as well and one of my friends got me a Byeon Woo Seok tshirt as an Xmas gift lol Loved your wrap up, I haven't gotten around to any of these books myself yet but Lady of Darkness is definitely on my 2025 TBR and my last book of 2024 was Lights Out by Navessa Allen 😊
My last book of 2024 was The Ending Fire, I gave it 5 stars lol I loved it! It almost got 4 stars because of how much Anoor pissed me off throughout the entirety of the book (and the whole series tbh). But that last 20% was so good I had to keep it at 5!
My last book was "Lovelight Farms" by BK Borison, which I had bought on a whim to see what the hype was about. And, honestly, it was right what I needed at that time. I can also see why so many people like the author.
My last book was Evocation by S. T. Gibson. I was determined to like it because I love polyamory and the occult, and it certainly delivered on those fronts, but it ended up as a 3.75 because the story structure was not good. A disappointing last book of the year, but so far I've started 2025 with bangers (Make Room for Love, and Natural Beauty) so things are looking up
I really feel you on the 'reading lots of mid books' issue. My reading slowed down so much in the second half of 2024 partly because I was just reading so much that was mid for me. Hoping to do better in 2025 🤣 Last book I read was Self-Made Boys. Which was, on theme, a fine book 🤣 I also started The Brightness Between Us around xmas and finished it today and that was very meh. So im gonna say that counts toward 2024 and hope my next book I will enjoy more (next up is Malice, for Catch-up Bookclub 😄 highly doubt I will be done in time for the livestream, but im gonna do my best!)
My last read of '24 was debut author Nicolle May - What Lies Within Masks & Shadows, which is an intriguing enough read to finish, although it needs better world-building and over-emphasises some points. I'm not into trauma corn (an aspect of Throne of Glass I didn't like either). I would certainly be interested in seeing what else this author writes as she may improve with experience, more resources.
My last book of 2024 was actually Five Broken Blades. I predicted it was going to be a four-star read but the last 100 pages made it a five-star for me.
😂 I read the exact same Christmas romance plot too, but mine was called The Christmas Swap by Talia Samuels. It's the same premise as the two you read, the main girl, who is a lesbian, gets asks by a client/friend to go home with him and pretend to be his girlfriend for Christmas, and she will basically get a vacation in a big villa with lots of good food etc. So she agrees, and when they get there, she meets his sister, who is also a lesbian and the story basically follows the same plot as the books you read! I wonder how many other people also read the same books but different this Christmas? Lol
Lady of darkness did not impress me too much but the second book really hooked me into the series. My last book of the year was Lovelight Farms by B. K. Borison 💙
I liked Lady of Darkness pretty well but I didn't love book two so I decided to DNF. The repetitive aspects continue in different ways and I was kind of done lol. But most people seem to enjoy the series more as it goes so hope that's the same for you haha
I’m so impressed you’re still going with wheel of time! I would’ve DNFed many books ago haha
I’m being held hostage by the read along 😂

I hope January is better for you! I finished the year rereading Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell 😊
The last book I started in 2024 was The Priory of the Orange Tree and I'm enjoying it a lot 😊
House of Hunger was my last read of 2024 and I loved it. It’s the standout book from her.
My last book was percy jackson and the olympians #3 and it was pretty nice. It was a 180 from the book before it, Quicksilver 😂 not bad, I enjoyed it well enough. And my first book of the year is once upona broken heart which I'm loving actually.

The Ribbon Skirt by Cameron Mukwa was my last read of 2024. It’s a middle grade graphic novel
My last book of 2024 was City of Ashes. I decided to restart the Mortal Instruments since I never finished the series
I just finished book 8 of WoT but haven’t experienced any slog yet. Last book of 2024 was the Stephen Fry narration of the first Harry Potter book - loved it!
My last read / listen was Such Sharp Teeth. Solid 4 star read for me and I wanna check out more of her books.
My last book was Malice by John Gwynne, for the book club and I had a lot of fun with it 😊💙
The guy from make you mine this christmas actually has his own book and it's a mm romance~
So does the guy from kiss her once for me 😂
My last book of 2024 was The Bog Wife. 💙
My last book of 2024 was Edge of Valor by Kyla Stone - that series was a good page-turning palate cleanser in between other books, but honestly, I'm glad I was done with it before 2025 started! 📘💙
My last book was Addie LaRue. 💙💙

The last book I read in 2024 was The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. It was a reread, but I still loved every page of it.
My last book of 2024 was The Haar. I was thrown off that there was humor but enjoyed it a lot after I readjusted my expectations.
I love this ravenous dark 🥹
I am at 42% in Lady of Darkness and was debating a DNF. But I’ll give it more of a chance based on your feelings by the end! 🦋
Lovely Runner definitely had me in a chokehold this year too 😂 I recommend Twinkling Watermelon if you have access! It’s time travel as well but more found family mystery! A son goes back in time to when his father was a teen (and prior to an incident that takes his hearing).
I looked at that one! I think I’m going to try Doom at your service next but Twinkling Watermelon is also on my list
Omg I adore Lovely Runner, my fav kdrama of 2024 by far! I rewatched it over Christmas as well and one of my friends got me a Byeon Woo Seok tshirt as an Xmas gift lol

So jealous of your T-shirt 🫶
My last book of 2024 was Dating and Dragons and it was a 5 star book!

My last read of 2024 was Poison Song by Jen Williams. The final book in the Winnowing Flame trilogy and it absolutely crushed me. ❤😂
Great video 🥰🩵
Lady of Darkness was my final read of 2024 too! 💙
My last book was "Lovelight Farms" by BK Borison, which I had bought on a whim to see what the hype was about. And, honestly, it was right what I needed at that time. I can also see why so many people like the author.

My last read of 2024 was The Girl from the Other Side Vol 1 and I enjoyed it.
Red Rising was my last book. It felt like a solid end to the year
I was so nervous when you reading Five Broken Blades. It was my favorite read of 2025 and I was afraid you weren't going to like it.
The Twelve Dates of Christmas!
😂 I read the exact same Christmas romance plot too, but mine was called The Christmas Swap by Talia Samuels. Nice!🩵🦋💙
My last book was Mr Norris Changes Trains by Christopher Isherwood (I'm on a modern classics binge at the moment). It was hilariously witty.
My last book of 2024 was a spontaneous reread of Smoky the Cowhorse.
Lady of darkness did not impress me too much but the second book really hooked me into the series. My last book of the year was Lovelight Farms by B. K. Borison 💙
🦋
Montress: Awakening was my last 2024 read
I liked Lady of Darkness pretty well but I didn't love book two so I decided to DNF. The repetitive aspects continue in different ways and I was kind of done lol. But most people seem to enjoy the series more as it goes so hope that's the same for you haha
My last read for 2024, was If You Tell a Lie - Lucinda Berry
Don’t talk to me…🤚
I’m STILL pissed with that ending 😠
My last real book was Quicksilver, it was exactly what I expected it to be lol

My last book of 2024 was Shanghai Immortal by AY Chao. It was... Okay?
How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Megan Quinn
I listened to Lady of Darkness and was so annoyed with the main character so I won't continue with the series unfortunately.
She’s a nightmare quite honestly
🩵
