    I'm with you about sleeper trains. I took one from Innsbruck Austria to Amsterdam Netherlands and it was probably the worst night sleep of the entire 3 month trip we were on.

    "Some years ago, some things happened" pretty much sums up the entirety of history 😂

      @BeccaandTheBooks 40% of my translated horror book was consumed via the Kindle! But yes. Mostly phone reading 😂

    I feel you about business class; my husband and I just came back from the UK (Canada) and we did business class both ways and it was 1000% worth the investment

    I noticed in the bookstore in Luxor all the Elizabeth Peters books. I have read all of those!! And yes they are murder mysteries, but that is not the draw. They take place late 1890-1910's, the FMC is a spunky, smart women (the main female character in The Mummy movie must have been inspired by these books) and they are in Egypt every season on an archeological dig. And the characters, relationships (which continue to develop over the series) and the history makes it a lot of sassy fun. But its the banter and chemistry between Amelia and Emerson that make the books so enjoyable!

    Already said this on Gav' vlog, but I'm soooo jealous you all got to go on this trip!
    A friend and I nearly chickened out of camel riding some years ago on a holiday in Tunisia, but in the end we went for it and I'm so glad we did - definitely an experience!

    I had stomach issues when I was in China. It was awful. My gut just wasn't used to the bacteria. I was on a tour bus with a bunch of old Chinese folks and they were fine, every time we had to stop for me to go to the bathroom they were so kind. I had to use road side toilets with no doors and someone would always block off the doorway for me so I had privacy. But super embarrassing and not fun.

    the synopsys of "what the river knows" reminds me so much of this paperback historical romance i secretly read as a child xD
    but seriously, it's eerily similar. like me, suspiciously narrowing my eyes, level of similar. i think it was called desert song or smth

      @@BeccaandTheBooksi guess technically you can say you've seen all of the ancient world's wonders now!
      Also sorry for the stomach issues as someone who suffers stomach issues and anxiety I know how it can become a vicious circle of one causing the other especially when lack of sleep is thrown into the mix.

    How does riding a camel compare to riding a horse?

    • @BeccaandTheBooks
      @BeccaandTheBooks  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In my experience the camels are quite a bit taller and they feel narrower although I suppose it depends on the breed of horse and camel. The rhythm feels similar though
