I liked the honesty in this review and the fact that you didn’t bash people who may buy this trim level challenger! I’m looking to get the 5.7 hemi in a cpl years who knows maybe consider the gt to deal with Ohio winters I liked your unbiased review so much you just got another sub!!
Some ppl just like myself would love to have the SXT just for the simple fact it's a 2 door coupe. You really don't need the top shelf high performance version. There is plenty of power from the V6.
True... SXT is the cheapest out of the Dodge Challenger line but it stills has its outside and inside looks and comfort... Who cares about how fast it is anyway you gotta follow the speed limit on any car even the fastest one in the world.
I appreciate this review because a lot of people shit on the v6s but man, you don't have to keep clarifying the fact that it is a 6. It's a 305hp daily driver with more than enough power and it looks great on the road. Many people can't even tell which engine it is which honestly is the most annoying part of having one of these because people are always asking if its an RT. I've had mine for 2 years now and I love it. With a few bolt ons, this thing can be a lot of fun. I've gotten 5.5-5.8 0-60s which isn't that far off from an RT before. So yeah, it's not a v8 but it's still a fun, affordable ride.
Agree - happy silly European with GT AWD🙂Great daily+ cruiser, as you wrote and the review showed. I would love to have a V8, but I won't give the GT AWD away...
Jeff Webb I agree. I have a 2016 SXT Bullet Grey. Fun to drive. I keep it clean and get compliments all the time. Goal is a TA. That's what I'm working on.
Montster That I know what you mean on the compliments. Got a nice thumbs up from a guy while I was driving through a parking lot a few days ago. Mine is Maximum Steel color and it looks so good when all clean and shined up. Been hard to do with all the rain I've had in my part of the country though. :)
From owning the R/T and now going down to the SXT. The ride difference is key. The six with 18”s rides way better than the stiffer suspension Hemi with 20”s. But my neck and back suck so that’s why it matters to me. We got 33mpg out of the Hemi and the Pentastar is right there as well. Fun car all around.
For me at this time in my life, I'm retired and experienced the hayday of muscle cars with several big block chevys. This car gives the look without the cost. The gt would be my preference with AWD because it would be my daily driver.
It’s hard to get a real honest view of the car if you constantly compare it to the V8. Review it for what it is and point out it’s best and not so best attributes.
My first new car was a 1973 Dodge Challenger with a 225 slant six... It was a dog and my friends ragged on me about but the women loved it LMAO! And I do actually miss it.
what I don’t understand for hater of v6 is : are they going to drive all day to everywhere at 120mph? So, if you like this car, v6 is a good option, have enough power to bring you whatever you go. I like this car if I buy one is going to be a v6
Great review I here very soon I’ll have two kids in college I earn two incomes I’m a retired cop and now I work as as security guard so I have enough to buy my challenger in fact I’ve wanted one of these forever but unfortunately I can’t afford the hemi but the v6 could be enough to satisfy me for now lol
At the end of the day a Mopar is a Mopar. I have a 2021 Dodge Charger GT AWD. And that thing is a beast. I’m over 40 years of age and I don’t need to go fast but I want it to be capable and a great highway cruiser. 300hp with 8 speed transmission is a perfect combo in my opinion. Mopars that our parents and grandparents grew up with didn’t have all V8s. If they all had the same engine then they would be boring. Plus the Pentestar is a very reliable motor.
Anyone that thinks this doesn’t have enough power needs to test drive one. I’m going for the V8 but damn the V6 has 305 horsepower and it is a fantastic car for the money. In fact, it’s a lot of car for the money. I agree the wheels are the worst part of this base package.
I definitely liked how u was honest on your opinion and that when u talked about everyone else’s preferences u kept it at a respectful level. I’m getting a V6 SXT tomorrow so this helped a lot...I loved the video and keep making more bro.... ima new subscriber so definitely looking forward to more of your videos
Don't worry about driving the v6, im getting one, most guys on here saying (get the hemi v8) are probably honda owners , I have 03 dodge ram hemi, so I don't need another hemi, just a stylish car to get to work, this was my top choice
My dad was part of the Ford motor company race team that worked at Indy 64 through 67. When I wanted to buy fast cars he always said where in the hell do you plan on driving it? The speed limit is 45 in the city
I got the 2018 Challenger sxt plus with a couple mods and its hella fast it will bet most cars on the road and it is the v6 model for those who don’t know what sxt means
Yes sir thank you. I have a 2018 sxt plus and am in love with it. And no shit 30 plus m.p.g. not in sort mode on a road trip because of the 8 speed tourqe flight auto.
Props to you guys who appreciate the V6. I only had 22k to spend and test drove the Challenger 3.6 and the Ram RCSB 5.7. I had to go with the truck. It broke the wheels lose and layed wheel for like 20 feet! But to each their own.
The only problem I have with SXT model. Dodge dropped the ball with the exhaust. Should have had better exhaust note. It's a muscle car. It should be heard driving down the street. 305 hp. Job well done @Dodge.
If you’re doing a review, you really have to sell or create appeal to those that might potentially buy this vehicle. Keep personal preferences out of it unless it’s positive to the sale. Show the car for what it is and magnify it’s features, this is a great vehicle for those who don’t want the v8. Show the higher trims in a different video and let them choose. What good is it to show it if you bash it during the review. Good visual showing of the car though.
Yeah you right I don't care about most of the stuff ur talking about I just like the car I like the way it looks, and I'm not trying to be a rookie race car driver! And as far as your review I like your honesty.
One more thing if you please. What is exact difference in feeling between this one and 5.7? I mean there is not a big difference in hp, not very big difference in 0-60 times but there is significant difference in torque. I assume that this transfers into low end torque sensations. I'm only guessing so please confirm or contradict my thoughts but I get the feeling that in 5.7 you touch the pedal slightly and you feel (and hear) that the power is there. You don't have to step on it to feel that. So when you drive in town and you can't really attack the gas pedal 3.6 must seem slow and heavy because he needs rpms to show his potential whereas 5.7 is like a sleeping beast all the time. Am I right?
Yup you are right on man. V6 takes time and heavy throttle to be very responsive whereas the 5.7 is ready to rip a lot quicker. If you are anything of a performance enthusiast like myself you won't bother with an SXT or GT and go straight for one of the V8 options (5.7, 6.4, 6.2 supercharged)
The one bad thing about the gt awd is the tires are very small and I’m not sure if you can go aftermarket and get bigger but my understanding is you have to keep small tires again not sure if that true
I'm on the verge of getting a 2010 challenger SE as my daily driver and it'll probably stay as my daily even after I buy my 69 charger. And when I build my charger, I might put a 6 cylinder in it just because of the numbers that I've found that would net better mpgs. I will say, I am putting a backup camera on my challenger just because it's mandatory for me and I'm gonna see what I can do for torque because that's what puts you back in your seat on takeoff. They get all the bugs and bs out of the new hurricane engines they're coming out with, I may get one if they can get it tuned to 30+ mpgs.
I like those wheels! They will ride a lot more smooth won't curb scuff the rim as easy and will be cheaper tires to replace. But I am 60 and think with some practicality. I remember when Corvettes had only 245 HP. I think it will be plenty fast enough for me!
My problem with the GT vs SXT is up here in Canada the GT starts at 39k where the SXT starts at 33k, and the RT starts at 41k don't get me wrong I'd love AWD but for the price difference of 2 grand the GT just doesn't make sense to me personally as Toronto doesn't really get horrible amounts of snow anyways so i feel like it wouldn't be a huge deal but I've also never driven an AWD or 4x4 vehicle only ever driven a RWD Tundra and mustang ecoboost.
Heck493 The GT is a badass ride that gives you a great combo of punch, power, looks, and all weather performance. It’s definitely a super capable and fun car
Yeah the pillar behind the quarter window is pretty substantial and does block rear visibility some. It’s not half as bad as the competitors tho such as the Camaro. Rear visibility in those is a joke haha. Gotta try it out for yourself, go on a test drive sometime to see if it will work for you.
I just need decent hr power in a everday commuter! I have a 2007 lifted titan that i want to fix up and use for towing a trailer or even put on a small camper on? Right now im looking at a 2017 challenger sxt . At 55 yrs of age and don't need extra hr power!305 at 55 sounds good to me👍✌
Just bought one with a credit score of 666 with a monthly payment of $500 a month and it only has 2,654 miles on it also its baby blue with black racing stripes
You say like for me I would get a hellcat or dodge demon because I prefer performance. You think we don't? Hellcat is $70,000. It's because you want a nice looking car but can't afford more.
As in with any performance car, you want to make money from your car. It can be drag racing, car shows, and other competition. You would want to invest good money in a car like a Hellcat. But it's mad funny seeing assholes (spoiled suburban kids, drug dealers, or 65-year-old man who dumped his retirement on a hellcat) drive their $70,000 car in the middle of winter in Ohio., simply because they use that car as a daily driver. I feel good with the SXT for daily driving.
It will say on the window sticker of the vehicle if it’s apple carplay capable. Only the 4th generation Uconnect systems are capable, so it depends on which infotainment system it has. Great question!
Just bought a 2021 challenger sxt. 23k for the car. I'll take the sxt over the rt anyday. Of course I'm a little older and couldn't care less about the horsepower. I love the mpg, and affordable price. The mpg savings plus the monthly payment savings and insurance over the rt would average out to about a 350 a month savings. I think it's an outstanding vehicle
Depends on your taste in vehicles. Personally I would say go for the v8 if you can afford it. Would be a lot more fun to drive and sounds awesome. The v6 is more practical if you are on a tighter budget or need good mpg from a daily driver. What will you be using it for?
I want to import one to Europe. I now drive E90 320 diesel with reprogrammed ECU to make ~150 kW and it looks fast enough for me, engine sounds like a tractor though... I can do doughnuts and burnouts even in dry conditions with a bit of a refs with it, but I think it weights a lot less than a challenger. 305 hp is similar to E36 M3 power, which felt like a rocket for me back in a day. Poor handling and small rear seats kind a scares me, but the looks of the vehicle and great interior is very impressive. I consider this or F32 coupe/cabrio, but I think it will be the challenger. Do you think I will not be disapointed moving to this from BMW? does it really handles so badly? I like to drift my cars more than drag racing with them :(
its a nice car, just don't try to race ppl with that V6, u only make challenger seems slow on the road... then ppl look at my 2018 TA, they are surprised LOL haha oh my, its a joy to drive a challenger regardless as long as u love it
I like my sxt. I've done mods to it and I love the gas mileage. I've been thinking of going with the ripp or sprintex supercharger. I'd get power greater then the 5.7 and dare I say the 6.4 with gas mileage of a v6. U can always get an older model rt or srt8 for like $12-20k if u wanna get performance without breaking the bank
@@AndrewsCarReviews ok, great. Thanks so much! I believe the 2018 and 2019 all come with the 7 inch standard, correct? Meaning all 18 and 19 models have carplay/AA out of the gate on every trim.
I just looked at one of our new 2019 SXT Challenger window stickers and the 7 inch is standard on that one so it has CarPlay and AA. Not 100% about the 2018, although I believe that you are correct. I think I briefly walk by the window sticker in this video. If the UConnect 4 with 7 inch display is on the left side of the window sticker, it’s standard equipment.
@@AndrewsCarReviews just confirmed that and you are correct, the window sticker does say uconnect 4 with 7 inch screen and also specifically "apple CarPlay and android auto compatible". Good job walking by the window sticker lol. Every car in 2019 should come with carplay/AA standard.
LMAO AT THIS REVIEW..... HAD MY HEART SET ON AN ENTRY LEVEL CHALLENGER.... LEFT HERE FEELING LIKE A PATHETIC LOSER! (please don't let this kid speak at anyone's funeral) "I would've chosen the titanium casket with the carbon-fiber hardware.... But hey, that's just me" ;)
Yes!! I have leather seats in my current daily and they are a fucking pain both during the summer AND winter. Leather looks better and is easier to clean but my ass is freezing in the winter and burning in the summer. I miss cloth seats so much. You CAN NOT get in the car and just drive in the summer in shorts if it was out in the sun for a few hours, no way. In the winter they get warm pretty fast, but not as fast as cloth. From a practical point of view cloth > leather, especially in a 25k dd where you won't have the best materials or tech. That's just my 2 cents on the matter.
I liked the honesty in this review and the fact that you didn’t bash people who may buy this trim level challenger! I’m looking to get the 5.7 hemi in a cpl years who knows maybe consider the gt to deal with Ohio winters I liked your unbiased review so much you just got another sub!!

Yes it would be good in the winter... Can't beat AWD
Some ppl just like myself would love to have the SXT just for the simple fact it's a 2 door coupe. You really don't need the top shelf high performance version. There is plenty of power from the V6.
I agree.
But with the weight it feels like nothing

I LOVE my SXT + , she holds well in the road at over a 100 mph, shes fast enough for me , I can keep up with my Hubby ram 1500 Hemi
Let’s be honest I would love to drive a 2018 dodge hellcat but I’m ok with my 2018 Dodge Challenger Sxt. Good car for sure.
"I personally wouldn't get one" if I could get a dime for how many times you said that I'd be rich.
Love my 2017 SXT blacktop. 305 hp is all I need.

I love the mpg, and affordable price. The mpg savings plus the monthly payment savings and insurance over the rt would average out to about a 350 a month savings. I think it's an outstanding vehicle
I've got the same color 2019👍
Do you recommend buying a v6 or going all in and buy a v8 since you're buying something anyways.
I like to drift my cars more than drag racing with them :(
its a nice car, just don't try to race ppl with that V6, u only make challenger seems slow on the road...
then ppl look at my 2018 TA, they are surprised LOL haha
oh my, its a joy to drive a challenger regardless as long as u love it
I like my sxt.
What mods
Is this same height as rt?
Anybody know what the lowest year of the Dodge Challenger that has stock reverse camera
Is the gas mileage good on this car with the v6???
Yeah it’s pretty good! Says 19 city 30 highway
Literally just beat this car with my mustang ecoboost 4cylinder turbo. The challenger is deff louder though.
Does the 2018 SXT(base model) have apple carplay/android auto? Someone please let me know. Thanks!
As long as it has the 4th generation UConnect system it does. Either the 7 inch screen or 8.4 screen UConnect 4 has CarPlay and android auto.
Display?
No XM radio?
In India it costs nearly 100000$
LMAO AT THIS REVIEW..... HAD MY HEART SET ON AN ENTRY LEVEL CHALLENGER.... LEFT HERE FEELING LIKE A PATHETIC LOSER! (please don't let this kid speak at anyone's funeral) "I would've chosen the titanium casket with the carbon-fiber hardware.... But hey, that's just me" ;)
And i havent even had one? Cheese corndogs? Colts?
Nice color
Hopefully I’ll get myself into one of these today and out of this pos Sentra
Ain't nothin to it but to do it!!!
Tenina Davenport I did it! Took about 3 days of dealerships bidding against each other and I walked away very happy today.
@@JP-wo7yb congrats!!!! You're gonna it...
I hate when reviewers sit down in the vehicle before showing the rest of the interior details
That's nice
Mine!!!!!
I wish we could post pix of our babies
Aha, that's why some brand new cars have 100+ miles on it.
Yes it will hit 160
Wow, watching that was a serious waste of time. Should have expected that with the mentality of someone his age doing a V6 Challenger test.
QUE SON ESOSSS!!!!
I really hate when they don’t go to the backseat and review it for us…
Batman, Knight Rider?
heated cloth seats?🤔
