I think there are two take-aways from this: 1. Be thankful - or disappointed - that this chip does not work with Omniscience. That would end up being beyond busted. 2. Because of its versatility, expect it to be banned in Commander because someone will complain that this card is too much for Mono-Blue and they don't want to waste removal spells on it. A funny thought, though, is to mutate another creature onto it, then attach it to another. Or, use said mutated microchip to crew a vehicle, then attach the microchip to the vehicle. True, it may do nothing, but the thought is freaking hilarious.
@@aidanquiett668 - Throw in Walking Atlas and Retreat To Coralhelm, plus Orvar The All-Form and any Instants and sorceries that can target anything then you can play your deck several times in one turn.

Built a deck with this guy that I call "Knowledge is Power" basically tries to know as much usually hidden information as possible (top of library, other player's hands, other player's top cards, etc.) and then convert that into card advantage. It's actually a lot of fun.
I'll be making this commander. I love topdeck info. My kumena deck runs lantern of insight and a bunch of other. Knowing if it's worth digging or not is so good
Strange include but interesting would be shared fate, could slow down other opponents massively due to not having the right colour lands. You'd still get to play your own stuff as well.
This could go into almost any deck that has blue ... call it 5 mana, play and attach, now you can play lands and spells from top of library, that is a huge advantage.
This will work great in my Vega deck, I can already imagine playing 3 cards off the top of my deck and setting up my 7-cards-deep-Approach as my next draw the same turn I cast it the first time.
They had creatures that turned into Auras ages ago its about time equipment got the same treatment. One of my favorite cards is Dominating Licid which is a 1/1 creature that turns into a Control Magic and can turn itself back into a creature. Its going to be a fun card.
Should I run Reality Chip as the commander or Jin Gitaxias Progress Tyrant? Whichever you choose, the other will be in the 99 for an absolute control deck
My take on this, eventhough i am a few month late: galazeth. Galazeth wants his cheap artifacts, that allow him to create mana. and then he wants abilitys on that artifacts that are either etbs or passive abilitys that do not require tapping. This card allows for both, and in a galazeth deck you usually have enough mana, to decide "ok, i really wanna cast this spell from the top of my libary right now, lets play 3 mana extra so i just can."
interesting card, wonder if i have something i'd cut from my Spirit Disturb/Flashback to put it in. I do run Sage of the Beyond, Vega and Cemetery Illuminator as is another top deck player wouldn't be bad, especially since it can get mana easier than illuminator.
That along with the new creature Shrine, means Equipments and Shrines are now Creatures subtypes? So Changelings are now also equipment and shrines? So cards that care about number of either of those things count the changelings too?
I’m no rules expert, but I don’t think so. The reality chip can be an equipment only because it’s an artifact and that’s an artifact subtype. Same for the shrine (enchantment subtype). Neither are creature types, it’s just that subtypes go after the dash. Which means the shrine has no creature type.
Reconfigure is exactly the kind of mechanic I was expecting from a cyberpunk set, and I'd be excited for it, except that it doesn't seem to be the mechanical focus. The rest of the mechanics in the set spoiled so far have been rather unoriginal, either straight reprints (ninjutsu) or new keywords that do nothing except specify a subset of existing things (modified). Tamiyo's "Compleated" is a little more interesting, but still basically just kicker (cf. "Everything is Kicker" video 😂 ). Overall I'm pretty disappointed in the first cyberpunk set feeling like a standard rehash of existing fantasy-themed sets, but at least there's a little hope with Reconfigure that *some* cyberpunk originality exists.
@@WobblezTheWeird Sure, but I think that's my problem with it. Their first set in a totally different style should fully embrace that style and not be bound by existing settings. If they wanted to do a Kamigawa set that has cyberpunk elements, I think that should have come *after* their first full cyberpunk set.
Any voltron commander that likes equipment would love to throw this in the 99. It's a source of card advantage that if need be after a boardwipe can be suited up in an emergency.
does this card allow you to play as many lands as you want, or are you still limited to the default one-land-per-turn? if the former, think of what you could do with the All Cards Are Lands deck
It may not be competitive, but I was thinking about using my reality chip to make a "supercomputer" deck. Thought it would be a cool theme! Comment here if you have card suggestions for it.
This card is very fun.... I also noticed that they spoiled today a new Creature that is also a Shrine.. so I expect one for each of the colors.. so at least 5 more new Shrines for my shrines matter deck.
future sight in the command zone. i like it, i think its powerful af right now, im calling it. not op, but will see a lot of play across power lvls. inb4
Would Reconfigure get commander taxed or is it considered an alternate cost kind of thing? I suppose I'm sort of assuming you can Reconfigure from the command zone but maybe its not THAT cool.
The only thing I don’t like about this card (not even the card itself) is that we didn’t get a similar one in red or green/gruul for chisero. Otherwise it’s a solid card. Definitely a staple in my orvar build. It would have fit the lore better to have 5 different coloured versions of this. The wondering empress uses the reality chip to control her planeswalking ability because her spark is damaged causing her to randomly jump between planes uncontrollably, if she’s a mono white card then why is there only a copy of it in blue?
Not that weird. All equipment are artifacts so you could just as easily say legendary creature - equipment jellyfish Or legendary artifact creature - jellyfish. Otherwise it’s peek that you can play from deck, with some flare
This is awesome! It's great land fixing for blue. And I love the Reconfigure ability because it can activate as a instant. Pair with Sylvan Library or Senseis Divining Top for next level shenanigans
Time for a Voltron deck that's a bunch of robot animals put together.
That exists, it's called Zabaz Modular
through in mutate and you got some crazy shit going on.
It’s a legendary usb jellyfish that’s also Future Sight. I couldn’t love this card more.
Jhoira. Jhoira is getting more absurd exactly now. Also, Melek likes it.
Yea, this and the artifact goblin make Jhoira very happy.

what do you mean this will finally break omniscience?
@@achillefraisse4335 it doesn't work with omniscience because it only allows you to cast cards from your hand for free, not anywhere else

The fact this can be your commander is nutty, I love it.

Brewing a partner deck for the new Hidetsugu with Vilesmasher and Siani at the helm. This is a definitely a new include to throw in there.
This fun and funky new jellyfish equipment commander allows me to also play Knowledge Pool? YES!
I'm excited to run this
A cost reducer and sensei’s divining top draws your whole deck with Reality Chip.
Etherium Sculptor, Jhoira's Familiar, Foundry Inspector... this all provide both the cost reduction and a creature to attach the chip :D

this of coarse also goes infinite with Sensei's top and anything that makes it one cheaper for the ability to draw your library

Interesting card but i'll need to give though on how i might best use it.
letting elsha play lands of the top of their library? damn

Any card that says "play lands" instead of "put a land onto the battlefield" is affected by the one land per turn rule.

I have a weird idea. What if you turn a The reality chip deck into a control deck, then have a win condition like Triskaidekaphile in it?
sensei's diving top would also be a mint card too but it's an expensive card
If you play The Reality Chip as your commander, if a creature you control is equipped with it does it deal commander damage?
What if you attach it to a creature land?
This is a perfect tool for my Elisha commander deck. I want it now.

Krark and Sakashima will love this card
I'm just glad it's not also a wall with defender. Voltron would be hilarious.
This card is so far the best one I have seen from Kamigawa. Easy wall in the early turns, Bolas Citadel in the endgame
I love this card. I wish it was multi color for commander purposes, but that looks like a fun card to use.

I suppose I'm sort of assuming you can Reconfigure from the command zone but maybe its not THAT cool.
Reconfigure is not an alternate way to cast it merely an activated ability while in play.
Last I checked, you can't pay an equip cost from your hand...Reconfigure is just an equip cost that can be payed to turn it back into a creature
Screw it! Reality potato chip commander deck lets gooo
The Reality Chip is a callback to original Kamigawa flip cards. Creatures that eventually turn into value adding non-creature permanents.
