What an honour! Cobra Cky here. Thank you so much for the breakdown DJ. As an amateur fighter, insight like yours is insanely appreciated. This was my first full contact fight, and the goal was to find out more about my game, mental toughness, and areas in which I can improve. Would love to come out and train with the GOAT one day, I’m based out of Portland! Huge fan, can’t thank you enough. Oss
Yooo this is so sick, I learned a ton from this fight with my man Cobra CKY, and there’s so much to learn from this video, thanks for the feedback DJ all of us in the Scrapyard appreciate it a ton, can’t wait to watch more of these 🥊
I hope all these fighters that get a breakdown from Mighty Mouse watch these videos. Pro-tips from the World Champion himself. Pretty much a free lesson on how to improve your own fight game!!
Still waiting to see a Mighty Mouse in person guest appearance at one of these street beef fights! (how cool would it be to see DJ as a special guest referee also lol!!!)
Hey Dj you probably might not answer but I just want to say that I’ve learned so much from you, whether that is from your fights or breaking down fights videos. These have helped me learn as a beginner in combat sports learn and improve.
I love cutting around the lead leg of an opponent. Not side stepping, but going around toward the opponent at about 45 deg angle. I also forces them to correct their position if you get far enough and many times they drop their hands or leave something open. Great breakdown DJ! Keep 'em coming brother, and congrats again on your total domination at IBJJF.
I definitely don't know what I'm talking about but props to white dude because he was getting hit with harder gloves. I think those specific rival gloves are marketed for bag&mitt work only because of the denser foam.
Thanks for your analysis! Now I understand what my coach has been trying to teach us for the longest. It's hard to see it when you're super tired from warmups and light sparring. But now I see what he meant by angling. Currently taking Muay Thai and I'm a total noob. I plan on sticking with it and getting in some BJJ as my schedule opens up more.
10:36 DJ, bro you can use the left and right arrows to jog through videos on TH-cam as well. You don't have to use the mouse. I mean, I know you're Mighty Mouse, but the mouse is not always the mightiest.
That’s the bases for the peek a boo style is to be in those exact angles that’s another reason why the peek a boo style can translate well in Thai or Dutch kickboxing
You were my first ufc fighter that I watched and your name was similar to mine being demetrio and since then loved watching you in the ufc and still my favourite alongside Izzy and Charles oliveira
hey dj, can you go into more detail about the angle changing also what are some combos to utalise and change the angle please, as a smaller man its a part where im lacking for sure, been tryna figure it out for ages
Considering the weight and size difference very well executed by Cobra. As mentioned, when he finally does utilize the angle to the right he gets a number of power shot opportunities. Most of the match I was watching him exiting to the left which IMO is not the superior option, especially exiting to the power side of your opponent, you better have a plan or a good defense at least. He was eating shots that he did not have to if he moved to the other side, or chose a different exit angle. Would have loved to see a bit of karate from Gandalf. Being the larger guy, he should have been using his reach, long jab, teeps (not sure if I saw any). And once in clinch range should have been able to dominate with weight and height difference. Good to see some artificial turf for the ring.
Why is there so much emphasis in leg kicks in American Muay Thai? Dutch style influence? Or maybe MMA striking influence? As far as my own experience, although it probably depends on each teacher's style, Muay Thay is way more middle kick heavy/spam with the occasional low and high kicks.
@@Mighty15x happy you make content man! as an novice your analysis gives me tons of stuff to have in my mind during training, thanks for sharing the knowledge 🙏🏻
Man, you have to become a coach. With your knowledge, experience, personality and talent you would be incredibly You explain stuff so clearly and its easy to take in
I’ve noticed that beginners pick up so many bad habits from sparring to real fighting. I’m sparring you get a good hit on your partner. You back away, don’t want to hurt your partner. But in a real fight. Keep going tag him up, if enemies slip up, take full advantage don’t give him time to recover
Bro Muay Thai is brutal, one of those kicks shin to shin would end my career and i've played soccer competitively for years got my shins bashed in lol but Muay Thai is something else man
If Allycia Hellen Rodrigues beats Smilla Sundell... (i think smilla sundell is undefeated) Allycia should be a more promoted fighter. how many belts would that make for her? lmao
When I was growing up in the 70s if you got into a fight the other guy might have boxed at best. But now you don’t know what the hell your going to be up against.
Yo D, you ought to do a video on the recent streetbeefs title fight between Winged C and Sensation. Wild fight I’d love to hear your thoughts on man. Much love to you and yours bro

pretty much lol
0:44 guy on the left has the height, age, reach and age advantage 😂
Great fight I love how composed they are for amateurs and throw everything with control and not at 100% power so they don’t over commit
0:53 guy in the back staring deep into the camera
This was a highly entertaining fight pro or not. Better than some I’ve paid for 😂. Rematch!!!
