I went to a Thailand vs. Korea football match and sat close to Rodtang. When I got a chance, I asked him if he would have a rematch with Hagerty and he said “bring him on” (in Thai). Then I asked about Mighty Mouse, and Rodtang just said “เก่งไปครับ“ which is translated to “he is too good 😂”

I'm not trying to be that guy, but since we are all learning here, the kick to his chin would be considered a "head kick to the chin", not a "leg kick to the chin". The placement of the kick is the name of the kick. I think you said leg to emphasize that a chin held up to leg, which really is badass, but if you talk with your buddies about it, I don't want them to give you a hard time because of that little detail. I agree with what you said, though. Mighty Mouse defeated a true warrior by being the ultimate warrior

I would have loved to hear you break down Rodtang more in this fight, seeing your thoughts on how to actually defend from yourself in his position, especially in the MMA round.
It was so interesting to see his stance change and how much more defensive he became in the MMA round. It was almost a karate stance. It's wild to see Rodtang in such a wide and light stance compared to the typical heavy Muay Thai stance. Goes to show you that even the threat of a takedown changes everything.
But it was a fun fight and I think both you and Rodtang came out looking better.
Edit: Also I'm glad you got the choke on Rodtang to finish him because I don't think he would have tapped to any submission. Guy is a monster.

I stopped watching UFC for a few years for several reasons, but Mighty Mouse was always one of the guys I'd go out of my way to watch (in part because of the nickname and watching Mighty Mouse as a kid). Been loving how eloquent he is, doesn't pause the video a hundred times for quips or to hear himself talk, and is both a fan of what he's watching and incredibly knowledgeable, being able to explain something complicated or not obvious to a layman like myself. Simply incredible to get the narrative, color commentary and some very eye opening classroom time from the Mighty Professor himself. Mr Johnson..

DJ you literally are my favorite fighter of all time, I admire not only your skills in mma but also your incredible intelligence in the ring and your ability to adapt and overcome deficits you run into. The fact you enjoy anime and gaming is awesome, I watched all your elden ring play through while i was playing my run also just to see the contrast in our play style but also the similarities. The cherry on top is that you are not only a washington native like i am but also live like a little over an hour from where i live so that makes you a pureblood PNW resident 😂. I wish you all yhe best in all your endeavors and maybe one day if you are playing some type of mp game i can get the chance to run into ya and enjoy some nice competitive gaming brotha!

One thing I've noticed about the all time greats in Muay Thai is their unreal sense of balance and stability. Rodtang seems so grounded, whereas Saenchai is so fluid you never know what will happen when that man raises his knee. You the absolute man for holding your own against Rodtang, keep up the up the good work my friend and stay the goat. Learning alot from these breakdowns, and looking forward to Superlek v Rodtang breakdown.

If I were to fight Rodtang I would just bum rush and throw bombs. Screw all the technical stuff, you just need to make it a fight. I'm not trying to come off as a tough guy but I'm the type of guy that has no sense of fear and will never quit so I think I might have a different perspective compared to your average Joe lol.

DJ seems to be the one who does everything perfectly - switching, shifting, outfighting, counter takedown, clinchwork, striking defense, cage wrestling, ground escapes. I want to be like him the most in this sport and he is my teacher. Honestly I'm so jealous of his skills that I've found out where he trained at the gym and I've also looked around the gym Instagram account. Even if I want to pay attention to other players, I realize that there are no players as diverse as DJs technically and strategically, and I look for videos of his fight. He really has all the skills and strategies needed for mma.

I was very impressed by this fight and the skill of both fighters and the respect you both had for each other's art. Rodtang knew in round 2 he was going to get smacked down to the mat as shown by the distance he kept from you. Cheers to you and your sportsmanship. I am so sick of the a-hole fighters out there - love your style! Cheers
