Robert, again this video was awesome! Literally, I skimmed the instructions and watched your video the night prior to instal. Installed by myself in around an hour, never used the instructions, AND never had to cuss!!!

21:21 Nyloc nut Knobs !!! Just installed this cover... those Knobs are HORRIBLE, damn near impossible to tightening by hand, had to take pliers to them. BAK if you are listening, change this!!! Instead Lose those Knobs!! and include thicker washers and 9/16" Nyloc Nuts to wrench tighten.
I thought i had cross threaded them, then I realized I had at least 3 full threads engaged, so I turned them the rest of the way with 2 hands.
Supposedly Bak covers are made to order, at least that’s what the website says. However buying from the parent company it ships literally the day of order. So I think from other vendors they are made to order then shipped to vendor who in turns ships to you.
Your price was $148.00 better than mine. I ordered it 2 days ago. And waiting for the email saying it shipped. Im looking forward to putting it on. Your you tube video will help. Mines going on a 2019 Ford Ranger.
Tightening the rails is 8-10 ft Lbs which isn't all that tight.

Is there much "waving" that happens when driving down the highway? I got mine installed yesterday and it seems the vinyl still flaps pretty good which isn't what I expected with this x4s.

When you slide back towards tailgate you just move the rail or cover I have the same issue on my cover not butting against the tailgate can explain pls

Manjit I only slide the cover. The rails stay firmly against the cab wall of your truck bed. The seal on the cab side of the cover sits in top of the bed rail and there is enough overlap in the front of the cover that you can allow some small backwards movements and the cover still makes contact with the front seal strip. Hope that helps.

What I don’t like about these cable release locks is that it seems like it would be so easy to fashion a jimmy bar to slip under the edge and open the lock with no damage. All the manufacturers use them and I think it needs a redesign..

Most of the major brands are all made by the same company and put their brand on them. If you buy Truxedo, it's from the same manufacturer.

I'm buying for looks only. That's the biggest "need" for spending money on a vehicle.
Yeah, keeping stuff dry and secure in your pickup bed is a real gimmick…🙄
