    Your spot on bro. my bro bought one because I have one, tricked it out with after market (lift/tires etc etc) then got rid of it becasue of "not enough space" and "too loud". dont buy these vehicles as an impulse buy. My 2021 EcoD Overland is at 43K with no issues. Maintenance.

    I just bought a 2023 Gladiator Rubicon for one reason and one reason only. So that I can take my grandkids for rides in the summer with the roof off to get ice cream. People may think I’m an idiot who wasted money, but at the end of the day it’s my money and I don’t care.

      You bought a very awesome ride, just traded my 23 Tacoma Pro for a 24 Gladiator Rub X in Hydro Blue.
      Very happy with the trade.

    You really nailed the truth, if you never take a Jeep gladiator or wrangler off-road, with few other exceptions……..don’t buy a Jeep! The popularity of Jeep for showboating has destroyed the brand pricing for those of us who are off-road middle class! They stay in hotels, we stay off grid!

      The funny thing is, the more Jeeps they sell, the more the brand grows. You want only people who take these off trail only...well you're probably at 10% of those who buy it that do take these offroad fully. So do you think that those small hardcore offeoadera..like yourself, you think if it's only them buying it, the Jeep brand will survive, you think that all those companies who make all that add one you so love, you think they'll survive, not likely. So ultimately, people can buy what they like and other people can stop caring about what other people but.

    Life is short. So it should be about smiles per mile. It doesn't look like every other midsize truck out there. To me it gives a big middle finger to the competition. Really like my low option 2023 hardtop Mojave. It's a great hunting truck. I don't have an issue with wind and tire noise (all-terrain tires) and the ride is acceptable. Minimal wandering for a solid axle truck. This is my 8th truck and it's unparalleled off-road. I wouldn't buy it for travel but it might be the best Gladiator trim for doing that. I'd prefer an integral steel roof if I had the choice. There's no other truck quite like it. Mine pretty much stays dirty ha ha

    Road noise and solid front axle(at least in last couple years or gladiator) are completely blown out of proportion on the internet. You're completely right on don't bother if you have no intention of going off-road. That being said, quite a few of the competition might have offroad capability, but weren't really built to come back the same truck after going offroad.

    • @OdysseyOffroad
      @OdysseyOffroad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment. The front solid axle makes for totally different drive characteristics that people don't understand that never owned one or know any better and then complain about the ride. People need to know going in what they are buying and not complain it's the truck fault after the fact.

      @@leobjelanovic4655jeep doesnt even know why jeep is made. After WW2 it carried longer than it should have. Some farmers started buying them. People coming home from military service would buy them. They were cheap. Where "cheap jeep" came from. They started being marketed for utility and work. .
      Over the years they lost the military contracts and the ranches and farms used them less. Even more so as the early ATVs came out.
      Jeep needed a new market, no buyers. So they started marketing then as fun hobby type vehicles. If you look at the advertisements from early Honda ATVs they are similar to jeep advertisements. Basically jeep needed to find some new customer base. No one was buying. Best thing that could have happened to jeep might have been being used in the "dukes of hazard" TV show. It was near forgotten. I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure they actually paid the show to put a jeep in it. They needed to keep sales going.
      Moving on we get to the off-road crowd. This became jeeps new money train. 4 Wheeler magazine advertisements. Jc Whitney catalogs. They were desperate to push toward a new clientele or the brand was going to be lost. The military moved on. The farmers and ranchers moved on. Jeep needed a new buyer. So then came the huge marketing to the off-road crowd. But even that became limited. So the more pavement princesses out there the happier jeep is. They dont care if you ever take it off road. Long as you buy one. The jeep clubs, all that crap was genius marketing.
      The benefit of the new marketing was they could charge more. They were selling now as a "lifestyle" vehicle. Lot better then trying to justify it to farmers. The prices went up. And now instead of farm implements they could sell off road crap and personalization items. A little subsection grew up of suppliers that also had a financial interest in this move.
      But they dont really care if you actually take it off road. And as a lifestyle vehicle they dont have to justify its practicality.
      The original jeep was meant to be light weight, cheap, easily mass produced, good at going around obstacles (not through them), and able to be transported easily (,, small size) while being able to fix out in the field with simple parts. Basically military throw away vehicles but genuinely genius.
      Now they are lifestyle mall crawlers 🤣

    Something I NEVER see on reviews of Gladiators or Wranglers are on the hardtops you most definitely will have moments where water will get through the freedom panels. I live in Florida and those freak heavy rainstorms will push water through the seals. I have 15k on my Mojave and it happens from time to time. Also, if you remove the tops it will also inevitably happen. Maybe a bit of sand or leaf got in between the seals. Maybe you didn't put them back on exactly like you're supposed to. One way or another you will get water in the cab at some point. Welcome to owning a Jeep lol

      @OdysseyOffroad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your right my jk leaked like a siv. Whatt I do with the two Mojaves that I have owned is anytime I take the freedom panel off I wipe the seals clean with mother's vlr before I put the tops back on. it also preserves the seals as it has conditioning agents in it for the rubber and uv blockers. I take mine to the car wash periodically and also wash with a pressure washer. So far this is my second mojave with no leaks. I think not taking the rear hard top off helps and cleaning the seals regularly . Thanks for watching!

Feels amazing being back home in Jeep. Mojave suspension is so much fun on daily driving roads. 10K off sticker price and nearly even trade on 2024 RAM 1500 Limited Black Night Edition had. Couldn't pass this up. Lowered my payments too from those high-priced luxury 1500's by $200. Granted RAM's HEMI V8 is very nice on highway cruising, passing power. I do have one touch top soft top so that makes it worse. You have to always drive the Jeep, constantly giving some input. My 2015 king ranch is much more comfortable on long hauls. People really should rent one if possible before they buy because you just can't compare the ride characteristics to any other vehicle. The glass only insurance for window is a great tip! I bought a used Mojave last October because my wife wouldn't let me buy a new one. I was building an Overlander with quite a bit more weight and wanted 37s so ended up replacing most of the suspension to handle the 37s, that extra weight (SmartCap, Steel bumpers, winch, roof rack, rock sliders, recovery gear, aux lights etc) and trails we have here in Colorado a bit better. So used was the better option which means my wife was correct again 😛.

I have taken my.stock Crosstrek "off roading" a few times (with good AT tires), and my kids loved it. I think they would have a blast doing it for real, and more often. While the Subi is my daily driver that the Gladi would replace, I drive an F-550 every day (and sometimes a giant ass line truck- CDL) for work. Solid front axle may not be the best for daily driving, but I can live with it without issue for the benefits. I'm not interested in all of the damn turbo 4s in most midsized trucks no days. Dude. I could not get through the whole video.
    Stop telling people they can't complain. You say you are not a fan boy but you do sound annoyed like one.
    The fact of the matter is that with a jeep you should know what to expect, you are right about that. However only the market's complaints drive Jeep to improve. Trying getting into a 1990s jeep and you will think the new one is a Cadillac.

    If anybody is going to pay over $60,000 for a truck like this and they do not have the conference they have no business selling this truck for over 60,000 it should be in the 40,000 then it will not be a problem that’s why people complain

    • @OdysseyOffroad
      @OdysseyOffroad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure what you were saying about a conference? But the reason for this video are the people that complain after they buy it if you've already purchased it paid the money and didn't do your research as to what you were buying and you're complaining that's on you.

    Yeah i really can't stand jeeps. I've had a lot of vehicles. Jeep is like the worst. .
    Why people buy awd suvs. Plenty of room. Put down the seats. Still good awd they do astoundingly well. Great on road manners (where 99.9 percent of vehicles spend there time).
    Really even if you want a convertible you can find a cheaper convertible. For a truck you can get a hd actual truck. Most people like nice interiors and the good road trip, awd, space of a suv. They are just convenient and still can go offroad (a little which is what most people would do if any).
    I was actually shocked to find out people were paying so much for these things. It's not even like a real vehicle. I'd say it's belongs on a farm or something. But you can get a regular truck to do that too.
    And jeeps actually suck in snow and ice. I had to go yank my kid back in the road in the winter.
    Wide off-road tires and a light rear doesnt make it a great winter vehicle. The same road my kid went off i could drive up in my awd station wagon no problem.

      Jeeps are great vehicles but they're for a certain crowd somebody like you shouldn't buy one and that's the point of this video.

    • @itsallminor6133
      @itsallminor6133 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't even know why people buy them. I guess if I lived on a farm where I'm driving around acres and acres of land I could potentially see a purpose. Jeeps did originally come with a lot of utility add ons. You could almost sort of plow a field with one. Now it's become a rediculious fad. But for that much money? Geez buy a small tractor. @@OdysseyOffroad
