  • This is the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon-it is an off-road legend in many minds. For some, a Jeep is the gateway vehicle to seeking epic adventures. There are a few Jeep traditions that most folks DON’T Know. And, today I want to find out first hand what it’s all about. While we’re out here, I also want to experience the extreme limits of the Rubicon’s true boundaries at “Lake of the Ozark Off-Road Park - The Loop!” So strap in and buckle up!
    Thank you @JackMonkeyJeep for sharing the FUN!

    Well guys, I bought a Gladiator Rubicon and have begun setting it up for overland camping. Here’s the first part of the build:

    Well done! I didn’t know this culture existed for the first 41 years of my life, until a buddy bought a Gladiator and I fell in love with it. Bought mine two weeks later and we’ve been having sick adventures ever since!

      I’m in the same boat. I’ve been overland camping in my minivan for several years and am surprised at the sense of community in the Jeep culture. So, I’m sold on it.

    That high center could’ve been avoided by a better approach. Not trying to be a jerk or know it all, but straight on is the hardest way to hit a hard break over obstacle.

      Worse in Gladdys. Unlimited are a close second, I'm sure. The grey Jeep might have had a better chance of clearing that obstacle due to shorter wheel base, but maybe not since it didn't look like it had lockers.

      My first car was a jeep and the high center was the first thing I learned. It was an 89 wrangler and I spent more time working on it than I did driving it. That being said, I loved every minute of it. Had to trade it when I got out of school and into real life. Needed something more reliable for work, but now that Im older and lifes a bit more comfortable, I may have to get another.

      We drive Jeeps (Wrangler) because they are cool and fun. It's a lifestyle that supersedes gas milage.
      There are Wranglers that are better on gas; diesel Gladdys get 22 city and 28 highway. There's 4xe's if you prefer hybrids. Dunno what the milage is on those because frankly, I don't care.

      Interesting. Is the gear ratio too tall in reverse?

    • @kernalclink77
      @kernalclink77 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OffGridAdventure The ratio isn't the problem. The transmission gearing is taller in reverse but the ring and pinion gears are the issue. They are spiral cut and are weaker on the coast side because of the way they mesh. They are designed to have the torque applied to the drive side.
