One-Year Owner's Review - Jeep Gladiator Mojave

  • After owning my 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave for a little over a year now, it was time to do my one-year review. Unfortunately, it has been in the shop quite a bit, which is why I didn't make this video closer to my one year anniversary of owning it.
    In this video I discuss why I chose the Mojave over the other trims, what came with my truck from the factory, what I like about daily driving my Mojave, off-road capability, what are some of the issues I've had with it, and my overall thoughts.
    Thank you for watching :)

    I owned a 2021 Rubicon and beat it hard off-road. I now have a 2024 Rubicon and it’s been flawless as well. Several of my friends have Jeep JL and JT’s without a single problem. It really is an amazing vehicle!

    I have a ‘21 Mojave that I purchased brand new, I now have 27,000 miles on it. The only issue I’ve had with it is the small aux battery went dead in just over a year. I replaced the whole battery system with a Genesis dual battery system, which has been amazing. I have replaced my oil filter with the Baxter oil filter adapter as a preventative maintenance thing.
    The Gladiator, for me, has been a workhorse and a pleasure to daily drive!

    Yeah I have a 2021 Mojave, and that truck is great. Best riding truck I have owned. I have a 392 Wrangler and it rides rough, as it doesn't have as log wheelbase as the Gladiator. The Gladiator Mojave version I think enhances the on road characteristics. More heavy duty springs on a Mojave and stiffer Fox shocks and this thing does not lean into a curve,! It takes them nice and flat. I have Nitto road terrains on it which are 10 ply which cuts down on lean also and they are super quiet.(I still have my Falcons and they are great for winter) They are quiet ! If it's a road trip we take the Gladiator! The 392 stays at home. I have had ours 3years paid off, and it's great. I have the Mopar headliner and its quiet. The bluetooth speaker is cool also! The Gladiator would be super perfect if it had a 5.7 Hemi. Thats the only think Jeep missed on this thing. Other than that it's great. It's easy to service, oil changes are super easy and quick. I am Keeping mine ! Great video! best regards, chuck

    With regards to the engine dry start issue - I've used Lucas Oil Stabilizer with great results in other cars. Especially saved an engine rebuild when the head gasket in our '87 LandCruiser blew its head gasket (dad overheated it). All it needed was a new gasket but everything else checked out and was otherwise undamaged. Currently using the one for synthetic oil in my ES350 that wifey would idle for 30 minutes daily with the a/c on in the midday south florida sun (also with no noticeable wear or additional coolant usage or oil burning). Yes, I'm thankful she currently works from home (she's amazing but not the best when it comes to taking care of the car).

    I’ve owned 14 jeeps and recently a jeep 392, but I purchased a gladiator Rubicon because they had them on sale almost $15,000 off sticker price, I am mediately built the jeep lift kit tires wheels and all the high-end goodies etc. and I must say I really like the gladiator, it is so useful it tows an off-road trailer excellent and handles much better than the on winding roads, the bed is so useful I do a lot of off roading I go somewhere deep in the back country more than a few times a month, the vehicle is totally affordable super easy to work on and I do feel pretty reliable as I felt that way with all my jeeps I’ve had a little issues but nothing major, it’s just a good very useful off-road capable fun to drive vehicle and when you put a lift on the gladiator there’s nothing on the market that looks like them they are so cool looking👍

    What do you think about the "dual battery" set up? Would you ever think about (or recommend?) changing it out for one of the after market conversion kits that uses 2 'regular' sized batteries??

    • @PlanItSendIt
      @PlanItSendIt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. I think if you're overlanding or running lots of accessories, probably a good idea after your warranty expires. I've been fortunate that I haven't had any battery issues yet, so nothing pushing me towards the dual battery. However, I do feel like I will when my new engine warranty expires.

    • @371kenny

      Watch the aux battery delete videos. Not just the ones where they pull a fuse and move one wire. The ones where they actually remove the aux battery, tape up the negative and move the aux positive wire to the positive main. Costs nothing, and should take less than an hour to do.

    • @series9193
      @series9193 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I got the genesis dual battery they’re two smaller marine batteries much better than regular batteries. One battery controls the crank the other powers everything else if for instance you run a battery down there’s a red button between the battery press it and one battery jumps the other but you can also add a switch to your A pillar and jump yourself without getting out the jeep no need looking for someone to get a jump.

    • @PlanItSendIt
      @PlanItSendIt  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mine is a 2021 and the engine problems are specific to the 3.6L. As far as ones to avoid, personally I think they're all great options.... again, I'm a Jeep enthusiast. If you're going to mod-it out quickly, then a Sport is probably the best way to go because you'll replace most items. However, if you want to keep it stock for a while, then select the trim level you feel best suites your driving style. I'm not too much of a fan of having the antenna in the windshield on the new ones because the windows will catch rocks and crack. All my windshield hits were on the freeway. Otherwise, I'm a big fan of the platform. If I were to do it again, I would get the extended warranty straight from Jeep.

    2022 Mojave owner and no issues yet. Jeep and Mopar quality in general, imho, has been dragged down by Fiat. I've heard the pentastar v-6 cannibalizes the camshaft at about 150,000 mi but I'm not sure how true that is. I am just over two years of ownership and have just over 50,000 miles on my Gladiator and so far I love it.

      @@PlanItSendIt Hey just wondering about your power loss going uphill in the sand you mentioned in the vid. were you switched over to manual with traction control off? off road plus will change shift points but, WILL still shift. I'm thinking you might be losing power due to up- shifting by the transmission. in the sand, I pretty much stay in manual unless on a flat straight-away. I had that happen at Pismo once in my Wrangler but realized I still had traction control on. turned it off and walah!, no issues after that.
