Surpassing both the XLE and the limited in sales. In this video I touch on a few key features specific to the platinum model.

Toyota should provide a bench seat for Limited and above as an option. Also, the side mirrors should come with auto dimming and power folding capabilities too.

I bought my first Toyota and first highlander last summer. 2021. With Covid it was hard to find the platinum but I did and I love it.
I think it's beefy, roomy, reliable, comfortable, loaded with technology and beautiful.

I am ordering the 2022 Highlander Platinum AWD Hybrid with a red exterior and the caramel interior. 35 mpg in town, 35 mpg on the highway. The Platinum also has the puddle lights on the mirrors the curve angling headlamps and the lit door sills. The extra $2300 is well worth it for the added features. Nice review on your part especially the attention to the wheels. My order goes in next week and am told it could take 3-4 months to arrive. Well worth the wait. My 2013 GMC Acadia with 98,000 miles is still running excellent and should easily last the 3-4 months.
I just ordered the Hybrid Platinum too. My 2018 Honda Accord has 200K miles and I"ve no major issues with it but I didn"t want to continue to stack up the miles.
Can't wait to get my Highlander.

This is so true. I recently ordered a Platinum Hybrid Highlander for the sole reason of the caramel interior color. It's such a beautiful color. I can't wait for it to arrive.
How long did they estimate for it to show up? Are you price locked ?

The only thing I don’t like of the Highlander 2022 is the front grille.

Yes the interior light on the door is there it's on my 2021 toyota highlander limited hybrid.. My limited has the 12.3 inch screen as well. It came with bucket seats as well but I wanted the bench for my daughter. On my channel I display the screen.also i have the 360 degree system as well. Only thing my 21 limited hybrid doesn't have it panoramic sunroof & auto leveling headlights & rain sensing wipers. Great video BTW.
My 2022 Highlander AWD Platinum Hybrid has arrived. Note: I reported 2 months ago that I had just ordered mine. I found out that the Platinum package has another feature that you can’t get with any other trim level. Platinum package also gives you adaptive headlights which turn to the side to help you see around curves and corners at intersections. They also automatically self adjust up or down depending on how your car is loaded so you don’t blind other drivers with those super bright dual projector LED headlights. Again my thanks to you for helping me to choose the Platinum package. Well worth the price difference.
Did you platinum highlander come with the Digital Rear View Mirror?
Actually that headlights system blinds other drivers in roads with hills. It happens quite offen other drivers "demonstrate" how unhappy they are with my smart Toyota lights.

I still have my 2016 platinum and I love it!!! One feature that I would like is Apple CarPlay. Not upgrading but in about 4 or 5 years from now I’ll be getting a new one but for now I’ll keep mine as I still love it.

Mark I enjoyed your video. I have a 2022 Highlander Platinum AWD. The vehicle is wonderful! It is White exterior with black leather interior. I literally took it from the rail car. I have all you spoke about except the digital display on the review mirror.
What are your thoughts?

I'm an absolute fan of Toyota. And I just love the fact that they are the leader of hybrid cars BUT they don't have any Hybrid Sport car, they stick with good recipes like we love. Toyota knows that Hybrids are good, but they don't want this in
their sport cars because it's killing the passion of a sport car. I just admire this brand

We have the 2021 Platinum Hybrid and yes, those lights on the front door (interior) are there.

Great Review. The problem with the Big screen is that you cannot make the map go full screen. Even worse, the projection with Android Auto only goes to 8 inches of the screen which is then made less useful with the AA navigation bar that runs across the bottom and can't be removed. Basically Toyota only gives you full screen in Lexus. It's a great vehicle that looks awesome with caramel interior. My only other complaint is that i heard it requires more frequent brake disk replacement and frequent resurfacing or replacement of brake rotors. Thanks for the great review.
did you mean break replacement in toyota or lexus ? I do own 2018 highlander hybrid and had to replace breaks more often. never knew this issue for highlander. Now i am considering on trading in for 22 platinum hybrid or lexus 450hl . what is your suggestion for 2022 ?
i also hear 4 year warrenty in lexus vs toyota 3years. the highlander platinum that i located is 55k with caramel interior.
@@gurus3694 correct, brake and rotors, often need replacing. I have the Highlander Platinum and I am very happy with it.

@@silverbankruptcy black shows scratches , so i am going for pearl white with caramel . I had black lexus 2012 and it showed scratches very easy. So started opting for pearl white in my vehicles that i bought after that . i am confused between lexus and highlander. but its hard to locate lexus with good color choices now.
Question for you, how is the Highlander hybrid platinum gas millage issue. I got my 2022 platinum hybrid.
When I fill up full tank, it's only says 650 km before next fill even tough in my dash board it's say 7.0,
I was expecting at least 850 km or more .
Any reason
Also it's funny that even in the suv what ever it say 7.0 or 11.0 the distance to empty don't changes at all.

Not sure if this is a Canada vs USA thing, but we can get Limited w 7 seater. And in Limited you can also add option of the 360 camera.

The light on the door was there idk if for the 2021 platinum’s but i have a 2020 highlander limited & it has very soft ambient lighting through the whole vehicle
Mine also has the 360° camera view & 12.5 screen & harvest beige interior, I might have just gotten one of the rare ones because Toyota has tried buying it back every month in the last almost 2 years I’ve owned it.

Curious as, why Sienna Platinum is not available in Canada?
I have a 2021 and am looking to trade again to a 2022. One thing I am hoping re: the 2022 screen is that the climate control does not appear on the screen. There is already an entire row of buttons on the dash for climate control. To put it on the screen as well is painfully redundant.
You also get the laminated front windows that ducts the wind noise down.
I bought 2021 Hybrid Limited. It also has door lights. I wish Toyota give option to have Bench seat in Platinum. If that would be the case I would have gone for Platinium.

Bought a Highlander Platinum yesterday. Went in not even looking at the Highlander, we were looking at a RAV4. Glad I let the salesperson talk me and my wife into it though. The ride home was very nice. Good job Toyota!
RAV is horrible. When I had it as a rental while Highlander was serviced I almost cried. Truly disaster and I don't know why people do that to themselves buying it.

Absolutely HATE the shin getting running boards. Whats the purpose of these anyway other than being in the way of getting in and out of the vehicle?
Get the Caramel interior and the Blizzard Pearl exterior. It’s beautiful, you will thank me later. Get compliments all the time! Great car!
The Limited also offers the big screen for $1k, given that... what differences are remaining? Does the limited have that electronic rear view mirror?
I believe the Limited does have the elect RVM
Platinum or not, Toyota needs to restore the back window opening, just like in the previous generation to make it "special". And the center console has to be bigger as well, just like in the previous generations. Don't screw something up that was working before....
How do you have all these vehicles at your dealership, down here in states it's impossible to find any Platinums and XSE's in stock
Most of our inventory comes in pre sold. We don’t have much more than 2-5 vehicles in stock at any given time.

Get the windows tinted yourself with ceramic. Don’t let the dealer do it cheaply and markup the price.

I think you should upgrade your videos to 4K because everyone is doing it to make their videos look great. I like your videos but when I put TH-cam and watch it on my tv it looks ok. Since you are showing details of the cars and paint job. The better video quality will make your videos pop. Everyone has 4K TVs now.

Platinum all the way. Limited to me is a stuck in the middle model

My two months old 2022 platinum hybrid highlander is making noise when I put on my reverse gear, it sounds like airplane engine, not very loud, but loud enough to hear with my windows closed, is that normal??

The Limited wheels are better-looking than the Platinum ones, easier to clean. The Platinum has way too many spokes, tedious to clean! Less features are better, less money for repairs, my personal opinion.
Better for less repairs and less cleaning arguably but I already went with the Highlander as a smart value proposition (resale, quality, regular grade gas) compared to both its direct competitors and the luxury segment. Ultimately, I really value the panoramic sunroof, caramel interior, HUD, heated backseats, and adaptive headlights. I also appreciate the much larger screen, rearview camera screen, auto wipers/hibeams. I’ll be ok with the rims, I think there’s a lot uglier ones out there on the street. The tech and features were must haves for me, YMMV.

@@micah6811 4Runner’s never a wrong answer 😊I had to balance having youngins and not ever truly hitting the trails so the Highlander was a good compromise. Love the engine, and though it has a tame reputation, it’s actually about as capable as you can get outside of a true truck frame. That extra refinement makes a difference in daily life . I would love a Land Cruiser or LX570 someday though…

It suck with the gas mileage. Only hybird make sense these day. I regret buying my 2021 highlander xse. Getting 18mpg. Should have went with the hybird. Even trucks are get better mpg. Stuiped how toyota don't make highlander xse into hybird too

You will be better with a Toyota Sienna than a SUV
It's nice but for that price you're better off getting a Lexus RX.
Lexus will option down grade most features that are standard fully loaded on this Highlander platinum. A loaded 2022 RX350 is $65k
makes no sense that platinium doesnt have the option to look like the XSE
