It’s hard to say which model highlander is better between these two packages. I think it strongly depends on what your looking to get out of your Toyota Highlander SUV. Each Highlander has its own distinctive features that make it unique.

I drove both,am getting my XLE with captain seats and black on black when I get back in town. I enjoyed both,but I like the lux of the XLE and smooth ride. I was undecided about the 2nd row until I sat in the chairs and my daughters did too. My daughter LOVES the 3rd row. I love it that it reclines and has ventilation. I did sit,it wasn't bad and I am 5'6 and leggy!!!
Hey Kelly, did you pull the trigger on the XLE? If so, how do you like it? I’m thinking about the same because of the bench seating in the middle row.
I love the XSE's exterior design , it just looks better. I wish they offered bench seating for this trim. My plan is to buy one by the fall with the black interior when the market is hopefully doing better

Would prefer the XLE, with the same wheels but make them 20" and then incorporate classy dual exhaust outlets into the rear lower valance.
Whatever your choice is, you can't lose. Toyota vehicles are the best in my opinion.

Hey Marcelo- Great comparison review. I actually prefer the XLE with the beige/brown interior. I think it looks really classy! Also really like the alloys better. And what's with all the new 2022 vehicles in the showroom!! I thought everything was pre sold?? Lol! What is the year of the green Corolla that we got a glimpse of?? What a gem!!!!!

Navigation is a subscription, they have other cool features offered in a subscription also. The car has a hot spot feature also. I can lock the doors or start it remotely even if it’s not close.

Bought 2023 XSE few month ago and I love it ..
I am not usually into the highlander, because it was based more for families. But the new one has an incredible drive and awd system. I think it is much more refined than last generation. Drove it in 10cm of snow with ease. The 3 drive modes are very cool, and very adaptive to each terrain.
It’s great in the snow. I have the Platinum. Put some Blizzack’s on it and it’s really outstanding

Very informative, but I decided the Platinum was the best fit for me with the Opulent Amber exterior and the Glazed Caramel interior.

Great video, I am a new subscriber and found your video very informative. I have been considering a Highlander for some time as my next vehicle however I couldn't make up my mind between the XSE and XLE. I like the XSE exterior much better but do not like the red interior. LOVE the 2022 XSE. Being a sport model I feel like I'm driving a sports car. It handles corners very well and the safety features are a big plus. I love the sleek look under the grill and 20' wheels. The black interior is very nice! Wish this model came with heated steering wheel. Fun to drive.

Toyota has undermined the Highlander's value with using a small screen on an SUV when the plastic center housing on the dash is so prominent. The cost is already above $40k so it really gimps the models and looks cheap for that console design. Also, I think Toyota should not count the 3rd row as 3 seats when it is so cramped. These are 6 and 7 seaters, not 7 and 8.

Actually 3rd row seat has more room than others. We rented several 3rd row seat suvs and highlander was the clear winner.
@@Xtri0s The Palisade has better 3rd row actually. Also 2023 Highlander will lose the V6 so that’s no bueno.
And no heated seats on a $45K vehicle.

Have you been told what engine options are changing for highlander platinum edition i want to stay with the v6 in 2023.
The cup holders between the 2nd row seats are really hindrance for children sitting on the 3rd row or one who wants to switch over to 2nd row and vice versa, also the cup holders prevent the 3rd row passengers from extending legs.

Don't you have an XSE AWD with Dynamic Torque Vectoring model in Canada? If so you forgot to mention. This is an importation spec available only in XSE and higher caategories.

Hi Marcelo, I’ll be happy if you can reply me, I’m stuck between waiting for the new redesign Toyota Sequoia or to go with the Toyota Highlander XSE, however my question is do you have an idea of how much the sequoia will be selling for and when it will start selling if not Is there a possibility that the 2023 Highlander Xse will come with a panoramic roof, the XSE is a beautiful SUV that I’m so much in love with but the features are so limited, is there a possibility of hybrid or panoramic on the Xse, atleast one of the feature. Hey. Don’t know sequoia pricing just yet. I don’t see xse having a panoramic roof ever. Hybrid is dependent on how bronze edition does. Maybe in future yes.

We purchased a Limited, because this model has the birds eye view option. As the XLE does not.
I use Costco Auto Program got my 2022 XLE AWD with few upgraded option for $45,000 USD. some option were discounted by -20%. XLE does comes with navigation , if you upgrade to premium audio sound ( I believe it was about $1100 more, but was definitely worth it ), I got with silver metallic with black interior and love it.
How the program works? They order the car for you?
I was ripped off they stole my trade in , I got mine for 48,800
So $45,000 with all the fees and taxes included.

Marcello - what about the Limited model? For about $2360 more, you seem to get good value. What is your opinion? Right now I can't decide between the XSE and Limited and will be ordering exactly what I want since everything is MSRP. Thanks.

Xse is the clear winner, better looking all around. XLE might as well be the entry level highlander.
I just bought a 2022 L-trim. We love it but didn’t want a ton of features
I think the one major drawback on the XSE is it’s not truly sport yeah the suspension is tuned a little bit bigger wheel and the good appearance package. That’s why the XSE doesn’t sell well people are not justifying the price difference between the XLE and XSE. My opinion is Toyota should kinda ditch the whole XSE basically appearance package and actually make this into a sport suv that would definitely fill in a niche into a lot of people problems. They have family’s but want a sporty car but obviously that’s not responsible that’s what ford did with the Explorer ST v6 twin turbo. I would love for a twin turbo option on the XSE and maybe a actual awd system instead of the rear wheel kicking on only when the front wheels slip.
We bought the XSE today. They are hard to come by maybe they didn’t make as many? All I know is we got lucky to get one and can’t wait. We love the 4 bucket seats and appearance.
I own a 2019 XLE and I love it. Just wished they put the button back on the lift gate instead of opening the whole back door. I like to just push the button to open my glass window. The new Highlanders do no have this function. Please bring that back in 2023.
Agreed 100%. My 2017 XLE is still in the garage because the de-contenting Toyota did on the new generation Highlander.

If you are in the market for either of these cars and you like the xse, you might want to consider a 2021 Highlander Hybrid Limited which is roughly the same price as the 2022 xse and you can probably find a brand new 2021 limited model. I don't know any significant features that were changed between the two years except for the steering wheel heater
Towing capabilities is what sold us on the non bybrid
@@pennyw201 if Towing is your focus, 4 Runner, Sequoia are better options. Sequoia-Hybrid has the most bang for the buck, Towing and decent gas mileage. Factor in price, then you made a great pick 👍

In your video you say that a heated steering wheel is standard on the XSE and XLE. Are you absolutely sure about that? I have a 2022 XSE that I ordered from the factory and heated steering wheel was not even an option on the build site. I'm just trying to find out if they owe me one. Took possession around 12.10.2.
You are prob in the USA. Canada has a lot more “heated” standard features
Because us Canadians get cold we get the heated steering wheel just ordered our XSE yay but you Americans get a nicer stereo

The fact that the facelift is offered only on the XSE and not on every trim especially Platinum is idiotic. Also, that red interior has to go. It doesn’t look good at all
