    That study technique, the use of layers to reveal the answer, is an incredible idea. Clever girl (dinosaur emoji).

      Likewise. Great work, thinking about a new pen since my standard pen has the phantom writing issue. How do you find the LAMY pen and nib?

    • @pixelleaves
      @pixelleaves  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AndrewMelder The feel is definitely different from the ceramic (aside from the modded pen above, I have the standard pen). It digs in a bit less and it's not quite as fine. But I find myself reaching for it daily now despite that because the button is really convenient, and I find the shape and weight of the pen body more comfortable for writing over long periods of time. If you opt to buy a LAMY pen not from the Supernote website, just make sure you get the POM nib version since they're harder. It's really down to personal preference, but you could always try out the rollerball regular pen version first to see if you like the shape of it! (If you don't, at least you've got a solid pen for regular paper)

      @AndrewMelder 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pixelleaves Thanks. As much as I like the ceramic nib, an eraser button would be an awfully nice addition.

    Your videos are great! And thank you for showing the usefulness of the 6x. Most want to show the 5x, and I personally like smaller notebooks so the 6x is what I would want. Love seeing some good tutorials with the 6x!!

      I agree, I think this size is pretty underappreciated online, it’s a really natural fit if you’re coming from similarly-sized notebooks (like I did)!

    Your videos on the Supernote are so helpful and I am strongly considering getting one now. Your 'tip for proofreaders' is something I haven't seen discussed elsewhere and makes a massive difference for the type of work I do. What I wasn't clear on is if I can handwrite comments on a word doc in the Supernote and then have them show up as text in a comment bubble on the word doc when I open it back up on my PC?
    The reason I ask is that I am an academmic and a key part of my job is reading and commenting on draft chapters from my PhD students. I prefer to do this on paper and handwrite proofreading marks and comments, rather than having to stare at a computer screen for long periods. But it's a pain for me printing all that paper (chapters are usually 30-40 A4 pages) and it's clunkier for my students who then have to transfer the handwritten notes back to their word doc, and for one of my students who is blind I have to make my comments digitally as handwritten notes are not accessible. If the Supernote can combine the feel of reading and writing on paper at my end, with the useability of digital track changes and comments for my students, that sounds ideal. Thanks for any thoughts you have on this!

    Thank you for all the many tips. Question - the uni style gel pen, does the 0.28 mm fit the Supernote diy since I see in the video you used the 0.38 mm. I'm assuming that the body of the 0.28 and the 0.38 are the same. I ask because Amazon is out of stock of the 0.38 and I really like the diy pen you have.

    I just got the supernote yesterday and I am extremely disappointed with the writing experience. It seems like to get a consistency you have to use more pressure then I would like to for long sessions. Second the 'screen' is inconsistent in terms of feel, so you will find the friction is slightly different in different areas and the hardness/softness when you push in is different towards the edges vs the center. I got the HOM 2 pen and it also doesn't feel great in the hand, the input lag even with the update is definitely not perfect for me, I do notice it. I was hoping to be able to write extremely fast with light strokes and get a consistent feel and output throughout the screen but unfortunately this is not the case for me.
    They say it's a matter of taste, I didn't particularly want tonnes of scratchiness slowing me down, I didn't mind it being somewhat 'slider' feel but it's not just that it's slide, the killer is that is not consistently or slide so it feels like you haven't got optimal control.
    I may give it a day or two more but I will probably be sending it back.
    Curious if anyone else was disappointed on first trying it.

    Great video - very helpful! I was looking at the Supernote and struggling with which pen to get, are there other third party pen bodies that you know would fit the Supernote refill? Thank you!

    • @pixelleaves
      @pixelleaves  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With the same lack of modification needed, nothing comes to mind… If you don’t mind a little more DIY/potential risk, any pen body as long as you don’t get metal near the coil should work. :) For instance someone on the subreddit recently modded a Safari, and just had to get something to add length to the end: www.reddit.com/r/Supernote/comments/s12ah0/lamy_safari_rollerball_pen_diy/

      It would be nice to have, but I prefer e-ink to regular screens for note taking since I find it less tiring so I don’t really miss it! I’ve looked into color e-ink as well, but the black and white reading experience still isn’t as good as b&w e-ink.
