Just bought one of these last week, moving from desk mounted wheel and monitors to the ART rig and separate triple monitor stand. The difference is night and day, already knocking 1 sec + off all my best laps and also helps with much better feel and control without everything shaking as you try to save a tail slide. Fantastic entry level rig 👍🏻
Thanks for the input Danny, looking to grab an actual cockpit when I move in October. This might be the front runner. Hopefully it can handle the new fanatec DD
I'm 100% certain that the new CSL DD will be supported and catered for, after all it's the high torque that elevates the full size DD's above this rig's remit, whereas the CSL DD's strength will be equivalent to current gen CSL and CSWs, just with the improvements anticipated with DD technology. I would like to confirm this at the earliest opportunity!
@@BeckerSendsIt hey man, did u end up pulling the trigger? Looking to buy my first cockpit as i prepare to upgrade from a g920 to a fanatec CSL DD and pedals. Wondering how the DD is with this cockpit.
@@ibbeats5183 I have a Moza R9 on my ART. No complaints at all. There is a little flex, but not enough that I feel the need to reinforce it. Don't notice it at all while driving as Danny said.
I have owned the art for over two years now, I use a T300 wheel on it, it’s been great, yes thee is some movement, but it’s not detrimental to lap times. I also have the triple monitor stand which is also great, although a bit of a pain to get just right, but once set up it’s great. The only thing I would say it that there is some flex in the pedal plate, however it’s fine once you get used to it, it’s like having a bit of damping that’s all. It would be very easy to strengthen the plate though, and also very easy to totally eliminate the wheel base movement with a couple of side braces. Value for money, you can’t go wrong though, I have the XL seat, it’s big! So if you are under 6 foot, it’s gonna be way above your head at the back without a cushion on it. I think it would easily take the 5nm version of the new Fanatec dd wheel as well, it might be ok with the 8nm but I guess you’d have to try it for yourself. I use Simforge pedals and they work fine, but I’m going to strengthen the base plate with a thicker piece of steel and some heavier cross bars as it’s not really built for these kind of pedals.
im getting a t300 too with t-lcm pedals, do you think i should go for the titan or is the flex easy enough to fix. In case i have the budget for the TITAN but if i went cheaper for the same value it would be even better. thanks
@@dannyleeracing be Took me 2 hours to build but that’s with the monitor stand as well. Pretty straight forward but struggled a little getting the back seat square to the base of the seat. After using it for a couple weeks I love it. Huge difference between this and an office chair/wheel stand. Probably going to get the v3 pedals next. Seems like the art can support them 👍🏻
That Nascar driver joke with the burger flying over the screen got me good! :)))))))))))) (btw, that's the seat i'm going for, coz i'm a "nascar driver")
this is actually exactly what I needed cause i wanted to ART but I didn't want to upgrade in the future if i ever upgraded my belt driven with a DD so i was deciding whether to buy something serious or if this could have been able to handle something stronger but as you said there is no need to spend too much right now and if i ever need to change something id probably change from the thrustmaster to the fanatec ecosystem so I think I'm going to go with the ART
The ART can handle equipment up to a good level, I would be happy running the CSL DD and Clubsport V3's on it forevermore, but I've since been granted a GT Omega Prime cockpit which is over twice the cost so my ART is enjoying early retirement. Good cockpit, served me really well.
I have the GT Omega ART with RS6 seat. Very similar setup to yours actually with the CSL Elite wheelbase and Clubsport V3 pedals although mine is on castor wheels and is rally focused with the handbrake, static shifter module, WRC wheel rim. Also mine doesn't haven't triple monitors as I wheel it in front of my 65" OLED Central to my surround sound home theatre. It's a great setup. I'm very happy with it, although I have been looking at GT Omega's Titan cockpit which seems to be a worthwhile step up. I'm also likely to get the CSL DD when it is released. All in all, the ART cockpit is brilliant for the mid-range Fanatec gear
Great video and you're absolutely right that you can be competitive with a rig such as the ART. For me though, where possible I am a buy once kind of guy and whilst my current wheelbase (CSW 2.5) would be absolutely fine on an ART there is no doubt that at some point I will upgrade to DD, especially with the new bases coming out of Fanatec. With this in mind, I would rather just buy a rig that I know is fit for anything I can throw at it rather than losing money and time trying to sell used equipment; especially rigs that are expensive to ship. With a rig especially its unlikely to be something that becomes outdated, don’t see any reason why a proper 8020 couldn’t last you decades. Appreciate that not everyone has the ability to be able to do this but in my experience if you can it is definitely preferable.
Thanks for watching and commenting man, 100%, if you have the budget there's absolutely no reason not to get an 8020. My target audience is those who have tighter budgets but want to be competitive and might feel that it's 'all or nothing' in order to do that, I'm out to prove it's not the case. When the time comes to go DD I'll make the jump but for now the CSL/ART pairing is killing it.
@@dannyleeracing Absolutely, and thank you for doing that! Like many hobbies SimRacing encourages a strong case of GAS (gear acquisition syndrome) and there are quite a lot of people who are in the 'DD or nothing' crowd which is unfortunate as I think this may put quite a few people of trying to compete as they feel like their gear isn't good enough. Whilst there is no doubt that you get a better feeling of immersion from higher quality gear with the exception of a load cell brake I don't think it'll make you much faster out on track; plenty of people out there winning races with a G29! If anyone wants to take anything away from my rambling it is just that where possible please try and buy quality items that will last you a long time rather than cheaper items that will be disposed of after not much use. The amount of waste that we produce as a species is untenable and really needs to be addressed.
@@Granar. I won a couple of races with a g29 on GT sport but I feel like I'm limiting my potential by using it so im upgrading to a t300 in a couple of weeks. I was thinking about getting the ART and because before I'll be having the money to buy a DD I'll probably have a car license I think its gonna be enough for now. the only upgrade i may ever do is change to fanatec ecosystem
Agree completely, I run a Next Level Racing GT Ultimate cockpit with Thrustmaster TS-XW wheel base and Fanatec CSL Elite Pedals LC. Works really well and I won't be upgrading at all.
As a GT Omega ART owner everything you say is correct. I was considering an 8020 but seeing Karls video i felt comfortable the ART would surfice for my G923 wheel and Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals and as mentioned any flex could be dialed out with a DIY solution One thing you did not mention was the longitudal flex.... press hard on the brake and the frame will bow at the insection where the wheel deck and seat part join. Whilst not an issue when driving it does make for a loud squeak/creaking noise - i resolved this problem by mounting the ART on two lengths of decking board using the M8 feet holes and then fitting locking casters so the whole frame is mobile when neeeded. I have now since replaced the G923 last month for the Fanatec CSL DD and am very happy to report the ART copes with this wheel base absolutely fine however i do have the wheel deck nearly as low as is can go into the frame so it is not set as high up as your setup
Cheers man, glad to hear you agree with our consensus - it works real well for me, indistinguishable performance from my 8020 rig with my mid-level wheelbase/pedals
I’ve had my ART for over a year now with almost daily use. It does everything I need it to do. My only knock on it is a lack of versatility when mounting accessories, such as a button box. It seems an 80/20 rig is more flexible in that area.
Oh hey! Just realized that you're that Danny Lee. I'm in ARL G too, bringing up the rear usually. Great video, I'm looking to move on from a center post rig.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think a stripe of black electric tape on the back side between the mintors makes it look way better, just a friendly tip! Keep it up with the good vids, loved your comparission with the f1 and gt3 rim.
I'm not a sim racer but recently got into GT7 on PS5 having stopped racing GT5 on PS3 many years ago... The PS5 is really my sons but I have a 1/3rd ownership in it 😁 to play GT7. I had to get a new wheel as my old wheel (from the early 2000s) was not compatible. I got the Logitech G27 for now to get by. Not hugely impressed with the "dead spot" on the wheel's force feedback but it works for now. Ironically, I'm using it with an Ikea lawn chair from the mid 1990s (still going well and very comfy for racing position) and a fold away table (just like in your video), It's not great but works. So now thinking of the ART. I'm never going to get into hard core sims but I could see myself upgrading to a budget direct drive wheel like the Fanatec DD Pro PS5 and some point in the future. It looks like the ART (without chair) may be a go "beginner" stand that can grow with me and potentially take a lighter force DD wheel in the future without needing to change that out again. How stable would the ART be without the seat extension attached to it? I would just use it with my lawn chair for now and then potentially get a chair down the road..
Jelly of the newer ART you have there. Mine's a first-generation with the MDF pedal deck, which isn't the best design either as it has no reinforcement to stop the pedal deck lifting at the front; the friend I got it from had to ziptie it down and send a couple of bolts through for good measure. Great rig otherwise, and I like the articulated keyboard tray so much that I just sold my desk and have been doing everything from the rig. Love it.
I bought a brand new ART as my old one had my own DIY pinewood pedal plate, so I know how you feel! There definitely seems to be many improvements between the early gen I had (same as yours by the sounds of things) and this one. I sold my old ART even with the shonky pedal frame for 50 quid on FB Marketplace so the net cost was pretty reasonable.
I think the ART would suit me, but I have heard the chairs are a pain in the butt, literally, especially the XL version (which you just cannot seem to get at the moment). I am wondering if this rig will be too small for me as I am 6ft 4" and 18 stone, not relevant to the review but worth mentioning as a thought about the GT Omega seat, I have a SecretLab Titan XL gaming chair that at first seemed really nice when I first got it, size is perfect but, now it is not comfortable after a couple of hours sitting. Maybe I have just used mine to much. I also noted there seems to be no tilt adjustment on the wheelbase. Thank you for the review it was helpful.
So would the ART handle a 12 NM DD wheel? Like a Logitech G Pro or Moza R9/R12? If so, I'd definitely go for this! If not, probably not because I wanna upgrade to a DD wheel in the not-to-far-future. Let me know when possible, please! Great vid BTW!
I reckon a 12nm DD will be at the absolute top end of what I'd say is really usable on the ART - however, the Titan might be the better choice for you if you're going that way, not too much more and is much stronger.
@@dannyleeracing Great! Thanks a lot, I'm pretty decided on getting a GT Omega, just trying to get the best one for my needs. I'll start looking into the Titan. Mainly down between the Titan and the Prime now. If anyone else has owned the Prime/Titan, please let me know what you thought about it/them!
Brilliant video thank you. I'm planning on buying this rig, will it fit the seat from the ADX racing seat rig...... its a terrible rig and i need to update, but I've customised the adx chair and would rather keep it if i can. I see you had a pic of it on your graph there..... any luck??? Cheers!!
I have had an ADX racing seat rig pass through my hands so I know the one you mean - you MIGHT be okay but I couldn't guarantee it. The GT Omega ART does come with brackets that should allow fixture to seats with bolts on the bottom but the ADX might have a weird configuration that's unlike any other. Only one way to know, I'm afraid!
@@dannyleeracing thanks for the reply, exactly my thoughts so I've dug deep instead and gone when the rs9 seat along with the art....i used your 5% discount too so thanks a million, 20 quid, not a bad saving!! Great content mate, thank you
Hi Danny , would you recommend getting the titan or this one ? Is the titan worth the extra $150? Thinking Of starting off with a entry level Logitech wheel. I may upgrade to dd in the future however. I want to get a rig that can handle that upgrade
Having never had a Titan I can't really say - but for me the ART has pretty much everything you'll need for a while - it is capable of handling a CSL DD for sure (angle adjustment issue can be overcome), anything above that and it would make more sense to upgrade the rig too.
If you could turn time back, you can get a WS-Pro Wheel Stand from Sim Labs. 260 euros with seat support upgrade. Its basically like your ART cockpit but with aluminium extrusions. And much more potential for your own customisation due to its 8020 nature as you see fit.
Great video! Did you drill holes for the wheel base? I also have an rs9 but the 3 screw holes holding your wheel are not on mine. I just ordered a dd1 and don't think its going on without drilling. I also love the rs9 and want to make it work
Didn't have to drill any holes! You might need additional bracketware for a DD1 but best to look for someone that has one on an ART cockpit, unfortunately I can't say from experience
I have a comfy car seat from Vauxhall /Opel Vectra C and I wonder; will it be easy to install this seat to the ART cockpit frame? There are some protruding, sticking out pieces that I will need to chop off from the rails, maybe someone else used this seat? I don't want to throw it out as it is still in good shape.
Might have a bit of trouble mounting it as it's fixtures are probably specific to the car it came from, but you could buy a seat slider rail and see if you can make it fit
Really nice setup u have I've just purchased one in the last few months I'm looking to install a motion platform Myself, although ideas and instructions on the net are somewhat sketchy Have u thought about installing a buttkicker to your rig? Best of luck man.. Keep posting your vids.. subbed
Thanks mate, I love the ART cockpit and it's served me really well recently. I don't know if a motion platform would work well with it however, you might need to go aluminium profile for that! No buttkickers for me, with the sim stuff upstairs I'd be deserving of a clip round the ear from anyone downstairs.
Is it possible to mount T-LCM pedals off-centre (to put brake more in line with left foot)? I.e. can you use all the vertical mounting lines with that pedal option or is there another way to achieve this?
you convince me to just upgrade my current wheel stand with added seat so it will be just like this ART, so the budget for 8020 will be for my wheel and pedals
Looking for a cheap rig for a CSL DD and V3 pedals, preferably a pretty light one that doesn't take up a whole room. I think this solves that wish pretty well. I'm only talking about 5Nm with possibly going up to 8Nm later, so that should really be no problem. Only thing I don't like is seeing the flex on the pedals. But I do totally agree with you about buying things for 50% of the price that get you 80-90% of the more expensive thing. A lot of stuff in sim racing is very overpriced anyway, gotta be careful if you really NEED it, or if you just want to buy something expensive because you think you deserve to treat yourself.
Thanks for the information. I just bought the ART for my new Asetek Invicta hydraulic brakes and CSL DD 8nm wheel base. It looks like I might need to reinforce it. At least for the brake pedal. I really needed to persuade my wife for this cockpit and I'm afraid I'm going to really regret it. I'm not expecting to set the brake to the maximum 180 kilos of pressure in the software settings. 100 Kilos would do. If that would be possible? I watched Goslings video just before this one on how to make the wheel base part stronger. But I'm more worried about the brake pressure cockpit flex. We couldn't afford the TITAN or PRIME cockpit. Edit: The Asetek Invicta pedals are set 90 degrees by default to the bottom heel plate, so I could set the ART pedal plate completely flat and set the seat as low as possible. I hope this might help some what, and then test the brake pressure in the Asetek software.
I'm 6 foot - the RS9 is my personal choice out of the 3, having tried them all. The RS6 is actually a bit more snug overall, so if you're an adult sized person then the RS9 is best. Rugby players need the XL
I haven't used a Titan so I can't speak from experience, unfortunately. The pedal mounting system for the Titan looks a little weak compared to the ART's, but the rigidity of the chassis in general looks better than the ART's. Tough choice, but given how the ART did a really good job for me and costs much less than the Titan, it's a reasonable choice. My reference for the Titan comes from Karl's videos such as this one: th-cam.com/video/z7ji7-5Vuys/w-d-xo.html
I used the CSL DD on the ART for about 2 weeks before I built the Prime - I found it to be totally fine, the only thing the ART *might* be limited in is the amount you can tilt the wheel up. For me I could have done with about 5 more degrees of tilt - other than that, the CSL DD and ART go fine together! I'd have been content to carry on with the ART had the Prime not been in hand at the time. The lack of tilt is fixable if you happen to have a body proportion that leaves you wanting a couple more degrees, but I haven't gotten around to exploring that in any detail or showing how it can be done. Most folks won't even think there's a problem!
@@dannyleeracing Cheers mate, i'm moving from a pad to a wheel setup and atm my option is to clamp it to the desk and use stem casters but i'm thinking a rig like the ART would be a way better option. I've found your videos really useful and they help me make decisions on what to purchase, i'll be using your code too with GT Omega. I think now i've tested the V3 pedals with the performance kit i've realised i will need a rig as even if the chair doesn't slide back there's still a lot of play in it.
@@JDRacing-j2v If you have the room and the extra budget, the ART will do wonders for how 'cool' it is to drive. As a person who has very limited space and is using a GT Lite just so I can get it in and out of my garage, is this cockpit easy to take a part quickly and move around?
The only real advantage of using a 80/20 is for high end DD with no flex running 15-20nm right. I would love to be there one day but can't pass up on the csl DD so now looking in the 600 dollar cockpit price range.
Hello, I found your review just as I am updating my location. I was going to take GT Omega Art to get my DD1/DD2 Fanatec with asetek 2 pedal hydraulic pedal. Tips, given the peripherals that I will go to mount, the purchase of this cockpit? Or is it too weak?
I think it's too weak for those components - you would be better off with a GT Omega PRIME or equivalent (Simlab P1X or TR120) - I have a video on the PRIME and a discount code too, they have updated the pedal mount recently: th-cam.com/video/bEl8PG7SWc8/w-d-xo.html
It's not foldable but you can get casters/wheels for it to roll it into and out of your space. The seat is also not 'flat-foldable so it's not like you can stash it under a table either.
@@dannyleeracing thank you for the help. I went out and bought the f-gt lite this morning and it works perfectly as it is foldaway and I can easily stow it. I am giving you a sub as you have helped me a lot with my rig.
can u attach actuators to create motion platform ? Will it be sturdy ? How about attaching other accessoires? That easy on a 8020? I think their a lot of limitations..
It wouldn't be suitable for motion platforms and attaching countless accessories - an ART will take you into orbit, but an 8020 will get you to the moon.
I have been looking for a lot of info on this specific rig but never seen anyone look for such a specific case as I did, but is there a way I could use the separated seat as my computer seat while I am not using the wheelstand? I am very much looking for a sturdy rig with very little flex but also want it to fit in a quite small space when not using it and a detachable seat rig seems like the best option. Do I have to worry about tipping over in the seat when not attached to the wheelstand? Is it high enough for a comfortable seating position for a regular desk? I would appreciate if anyone had some info to spare about these concerns of mine.
I didn't for the Fanatec V3's featured, but there is a possibility you might have to drill custom holes for certain pedal sets, especially if you want them to the left/right of the standard positions. Don't fear it, though - it's a quick job!
Not tried the Titan but Karl Gosling has videos on it - I remember watching it and thinking the pedal plate was just not heavy duty enough. Personally I would stick with the ART for more adjustability and better pedal plate, and lower price, it's done very well for me
It handles a CSL DD fine, the only problem is that this cockpit doesn't have tremendous angle adjustment to tilt it up or down. Trak Racer sells a bracket that can solve the problem if it happens to affect you, for me I could have done with 5 more degrees of tilt than the ART could give with the CSL DD. I have a PRIME now!
I should think it would take normal time, GT Omega has US locations I believe - check the link and it should automatically refer you to your region (unless you are using a foreign VPN) www.gtomega.com/discount/GTO5?rfsn=5541281.35ff85&DannyLee

@@lorenzop7447 :) But do you think all will work with the Gt cockpit? Anything i can same money on? But do not whant to feel like few months later ”why did skipm out on that part :/” :)
Nice set up that should never really need an "upgrade". Get the 8nm boost kit for the DD. Depending on the cars and type of racing on wheel, the McLaren wheel is probably the best value wheel for the dollar that Fanatec offers. The McLaren wheel also even has a two stage clutch launch feature that you can set to give the hardest launch with the least amount of wheelspin. This feature is pretty much unheard of in any other wheel in this price range and it works well. But for Rally or Drifting you need a round wheel. Pretty much I would eliminate the H Shifter regardless and buy both wheels myself. Order the brake performance kit at the same time you order the v3 pedals saves you a bit on shipping and handling than if you order later and you probably will. More and more games the H shifter is actually used for fewer cars as most vehicles now use a manual sequential gearbox and the wheels shifter paddles work great. iRacing just eliminated the H shifter in the new Mazda MX5 build as the real life cars now use a sequential gear box. Also next year the Nascar cup series will be going to a sequential gear box as well. Getting close to where the H shifter will only be relevant for vintage racing. Basically with the above set up you should never really feel that you "NEED" to upgrade to be able to compete at a high level. I basically currently have the same set up but with the CSL Elite wheel which I have already preordered the new 8nm CSL DD wheelbase. My current CSL Elite wheelbase will join my CSL Elite loadcell pedals which are regulated for backup duty if there ever is a need. I am very pleased with the quality and level of my gear and for me with the new DD will be my endgame set up.
@@billwiley7216 thanks for the replay. H pattern shifet i will most likley skip, and if the budget is enuff i will add the Mckaren wheel, need a round wheel for most driving i will be doing. I'm new to the sim racing world ( 1year) and recently upgraded from controller to a G29 wheel and got the Truebrake mod for the brake pedal. I only use it for gt sport but Im sick of sliding all over the place at a desk and chair so I'd love a rig..I'm 6ft 5in and 19.5 stone so my question is is this strong enough or should I look at the Titan? I watched Karls upgrde video too showing the strenghtening ad ons so I could easily do that. Not planning on spending too much so not sure if the extra €100+ odd is worth it for a Titan?? I cant see myself ever buying top end wheels and pedals either..What would you go for? This or the Titan?
There could be an argument that as you're on the taller side, you would want the extra leeway that the ART can give you in terms of height adjustment, as the titan can't adjust the length/height of the steering column. I find/found the ART to be really good but I never tried the titan so I can't speak from experience. If you're also on the handy side as you say, the ART is easier to 'work' with as it's all box section rather than tubes, so if you really wanted to you could bolster it like how Karl did.
They're 24" Iiyama's, basically these: amzn.to/3sd1fAs - any monitor with a low 5ms or below response time and a refresh rate of 120Hz or above is ideal
Just ordered one last night. Looking forward to using it, not going to use it for racing, but for Farming Simulator, yeah might be overkill, but I need a cockpit rather than table mount my wheel etc.. I ordered mine without the seat, and my plan is to use my old DXRacer chair on the rig. If someone has experience with this, let me know. Appreciate the help ☺
Yes you can - it's possible for me to move the seat far enough forward to have the steering wheel almost lodged into my ribcage so if that's important to you then it'll be fine. The steering column also moves a long way up and out. I'd be real surprised if you weren't able to adjust it to suit you - I'd stake a whole fiver on it.
The wheel baseplate could do with tilting up a little more for tall people, but the actual stand itself has plenty of adjustability. I'm 6 foot and I could have done with a few degrees more tilt to be absolutely perfect, however it was plenty useable and it would also be fixable with some basic parts. Before I got round to doing that, I upgraded to the Prime but I'd have been happy sticking with the ART if that opportunity didn't come.
Yes, but the range is quite limited, about 10 degrees tilt at most - fine for most wheelbases that have a tilt as standard but any zero-angle wheelbases (like a CSL DD) might be pointed too far down to be 100% to your liking
@@dannyleeracing that's not a problem, I prefer it coming straight at me, but I have the csl elite. Just wanted to be sure I can adjust some angle to have it to what I have it currently.
@@dannyleeracing okay well let’s just that from other reviewers they said that the g pro pedals are very similar to the v3s and for the stiffest options I can go between 18-19mm of pedal travel. Hopefully that’s gives you a good idea. Would the Titan be a better option over this ? Apparently lots of guys use higher end pedals for that including you when you used your Heusinkveld sprint pedals. I’m not that tall for a guy but I just want to make sure that it doesn’t feel too narrow in the Titan because it looks like it’s quite narrow to me and I’m a bit on the broader side for my body type.
It can take the CSL DD very well, the main issue it has is that you can't tilt the wheel plate up very high because the CSL DD has 0 degrees tilt whereas normal low-mid range wheels have like 10 degrees built-in tilt. This just means it would need customising to tilt up any higher if it was a serious problem, but otherwise it's fine to take a CSL DD.
@@dannyleeracing hey thanks for responding , after doing some more research I'm starting to lean towards the GT Omega Titan , it's only $100 more and looks very sturdy , any input from you would be welcomed
@@lincolnklayvr I had my doubts about the Titan's pedal plate, but it looks like so long as it's flat it's sturdy enough. Karl Gosling's videos are useful as he's actually had his hands on one so pop over and check his out on the Titan.
It is strong enough for it, but there is not a lot of pitch angle to tilt the wheel up and down, and because the CSL DD is designed to mount flat to the wheel plate it does mean you might need to modify it to get it to tilt up enough if you're really tall. Otherwise, it's certainly capable of holding it.
Unfortunately without going mega DIY you may be out of luck without getting a standalone monitor mount, the ART Single Monitor Stand is probably the cheapest standalone monitor mount which would allow you to bring your single screen forward. If you were ever to have triple monitors, your best option would be the Prime Triple Monitor stand instead. Don't forget to go via the 5% discount link in the description if that ends up being the option you take.
Hello everybody. I would like to buy the Gt omega Titan without a chair. Do you think it is possible to mount my Razer Iskur gaming seat on it? So I buy the basic one without the seat, and save some money :)
The titan is much stronger, especially with it's updated pedal tray (the site photos are out of date and show a really skinny pedal tray). It's also just as easy to build.
@@dannyleeracing think I’ll go the titan. When it’s back in stock. I was also looking at the play seat trophy but it lacks easy adjustments for others that want to jump on etc.
@@davidcupra4913 Have a look at the Prime Lite aswell - it's currently 100EUR off (today is the last day) and my discount code still works on top of that. The GTO seats all have sliders which is helpful for adjustment.
@@dannyleeracing the lite looks like a better rig just less pleasing on the eye for a living room over the titan if u get me. Is the lite easy move around or how would it compare in weight to the titan? The lite does seem like the better value and rig at the sale price.
@@davidcupra4913 I think the Lite would be harder to hide in a living room, that's for sure - if you put wheels on it then it'll move around fine, but it will definitely have a bigger 'footprint' on the floor than a titan does.
If you are in Europe the Treq One is €271.90 which is much stiffer and in the ball park of GT Omega ART. Also SimXPro has the R80 which is €247.11 another entry level aluminum profile rig. Some good alternatives if you're looking for an aluminum rig in Europe.
It's certainly strong enough for it, but the available pitch angle of the ART is quite limited and with a 0 degree mounting angle, the CSL DD is a bit problematic for cockpits that can't tilt up very far. Still works, don't get me wrong, but it was tilted up maximum and I would have liked a little bit more.

@@dannyleeracing i bought this exact same setup for $230 and i put it together a couple days ago. Its literally the same thing part for part but without the branding. This company is putting a huge markup just for their sticker on the side.
came with a chair and everything and I love it. I was looking at different setups for weeks and when I found the websites all of these "gaming companies" buy their products off of it made me realize how big of a scam 99% of sim racing rigs are.
I hate seeing people waste their money on products with companies that pay youtubers to say that they are good (not saying they payed you but other sim racing youtubers)
The biggest tip I have for people buying sim racing rigs is to find where all these companies buy their products so you can get it for the price they bought it at
I'll be honest - the RS12 Carbon is a great looking seat but it isn't that comfortable - good for larger people though as it's got quite a wide footprint, reminds me of the RS XL. I've spent 12 hours solid in the RS9 in relative comfort and it's got a decent scoop, I'm not sure I could stand even 2 hours in the RS12 and it's not very 'buckety'. It might soften up over time but to me the RS12 is too firm.
I would say not really - you would want something more rigid in the mid-section. The ART is plenty fine on the floor but I think you'd start hitting trouble adding a motion platform into the mix.
Hello everybody. I would like to buy the Gt omega Titan without a chair. Do you think it is possible to mount my Razer Iskur gaming seat on it? So I buy the basic one without the seat, and save some money :)
@@dannyleeracing love it. Might snag it then reenforce like you say
In case i have the budget for the TITAN but if i went cheaper for the same value it would be even better. thanks
Thanks for the advice Danny. Just bought one this evening. My first ever proper rig after using an office chair/wheel stand for 3/4 years.👍🏻
Let us know how you find it - how long it took you to build and how it feels being in a proper cockpit low to the ground!
Seems like the art can support them 👍🏻

this is actually exactly what I needed cause i wanted to ART but I didn't want to upgrade in the future if i ever upgraded my belt driven with a DD so i was deciding whether to buy something serious or if this could have been able to handle something stronger but as you said there is no need to spend too much right now and if i ever need to change something id probably change from the thrustmaster to the fanatec ecosystem so I think I'm going to go with the ART
The ART can handle equipment up to a good level, I would be happy running the CSL DD and Clubsport V3's on it forevermore, but I've since been granted a GT Omega Prime cockpit which is over twice the cost so my ART is enjoying early retirement. Good cockpit, served me really well.
Just bought one thanks for the 5% off mate, it all adds up. You’ve sold me on this rig. I can’t wait to get started. Great video
Thanks man, appreciated - let us know how you get on with it!
I have the ART also , not one bad word can I say about it ! No other rig comes close for the money , not one ! It's fantastic!
Ah watching all these sim rig videos always makes me a little envious, I just have such little space the best I can hope for is a wheel stand.
Agree completely, I run a Next Level Racing GT Ultimate cockpit with Thrustmaster TS-XW wheel base and Fanatec CSL Elite Pedals LC. Works really well and I won't be upgrading at all.
Very good review, no unnecessary blah blah, thank you very much 🙏🏼
As a GT Omega ART owner everything you say is correct.
I was considering an 8020 but seeing Karls video i felt comfortable the ART would surfice for my G923 wheel and Fanatec Clubsport V3 pedals and as mentioned any flex could be dialed out with a DIY solution
One thing you did not mention was the longitudal flex.... press hard on the brake and the frame will bow at the insection where the wheel deck and seat part join.
@woodcote is that the DD with boost kit?
Thanks to this video and Karl Gosling’s video I ended up purchasing a ART with RS9. Very very happy with it.
Cheers man, glad to hear you agree with our consensus - it works real well for me, indistinguishable performance from my 8020 rig with my mid-level wheelbase/pedals

Handles a DD wheel with ease.
What DD wheel do you use, if i may ask? Just bought a Fanatec DD1 an am curious if it will endure the power ^^
Really helpful video, thanks. Just about to place an order!
I’ve had my ART for over a year now with almost daily use. It does everything I need it to do. My only knock on it is a lack of versatility when mounting accessories, such as a button box. It seems an 80/20 rig is more flexible in that area.
I've upgraded my rig three times, spent thousands of dollars and I still finish in the back of the pack!! I have a blast doing it though!
Have you watched my tutorial playlist? Worth the time investment if you ask me!
Genius, I'll have to try this!
Absolutely spot on with this. Nothing more satisfying than doing everything from the rig, from work to any other form of gaming, to sim racing.
Thank you for the review it was helpful.
love this video and I will probably get this rig next. Are you going to get the DD CSL?

Love the Video but that cable management monkaS. Hope to snag one of these once they are in stock in Canada.
I've ordered this, could you give me your top 3 recommendations for xbox wheels
Really nice setup u have

I'm looking to install a motion platform
Myself, although ideas and instructions on the net are somewhat sketchy
Have u thought about installing a buttkicker to your rig?
I'm intending to mount an 8nm CSL DD to mine as soon as it lands - I have every confidence to be honest!
would the asetek La Prima bundle fit the art cockpit? im looking to upgrade my wheel but not sure if my cockpit needs a upgrade also

@@dannyleeracing perfect ty
Hi, thanks for the review! How tall are you? i'm unsure on the seat
I'm 6 foot - the RS9 is my personal choice out of the 3, having tried them all. The RS6 is actually a bit more snug overall, so if you're an adult sized person then the RS9 is best. Rugby players need the XL
Great video , would you recommend the Titan over the ART
I haven't used a Titan so I can't speak from experience, unfortunately. The pedal mounting system for the Titan looks a little weak compared to the ART's, but the rigidity of the chassis in general looks better than the ART's. Tough choice, but given how the ART did a really good job for me and costs much less than the Titan, it's a reasonable choice. My reference for the Titan comes from Karl's videos such as this one: th-cam.com/video/z7ji7-5Vuys/w-d-xo.html
Hi Danny thanks for the video, obviously you made this before you got the CSL DD, do you think this cockpit it suitable with the DD? Thanks
You can easily 'split it' in two with about 10 seconds work, by undoing the two handscrews in the middle
im think of getting one but i have prob with shifter and handbrake were to mount them
The only real advantage of using a 80/20 is for high end DD with no flex running 15-20nm right. I would love to be there one day but can't pass up on the csl DD so now looking in the 600 dollar cockpit price range.

Hello,
I found your review just as I am updating my location.
@@dannyleeracing I had seen them, I wanted to invest something less.

Thank you very much for your help but do you know if the cockpit is easy to put away if you only want to use it for a day and then stow it away?
It's not foldable but you can get casters/wheels for it to roll it into and out of your space. The seat is also not 'flat-foldable so it's not like you can stash it under a table either.
@@dannyleeracing thank you for the help. I went out and bought the f-gt lite this morning and it works perfectly as it is foldaway and I can easily stow it. I am giving you a sub as you have helped me a lot with my rig.
hi there, can i mount a moza R9 on the plate?
can u attach actuators to create motion platform ?
Is it possible to put 3 pedals so that the brake and gas pedal are in the middle if I want to play F1 ?
Does it not come with the shifter arm? Good video by the way!
It does, but I don't use shifters these days! Gone are the golden years of LFS
@@dannyleeracing Thanks for the quick reply. Just ordered mine and I’m excited!
Did you have to drill holes to attach the pedals?
I didn't for the Fanatec V3's featured, but there is a possibility you might have to drill custom holes for certain pedal sets, especially if you want them to the left/right of the standard positions. Don't fear it, though - it's a quick job!
Have you tried the Titan? Thoughts on the ART vs Titan?
Not tried the Titan but Karl Gosling has videos on it - I remember watching it and thinking the pedal plate was just not heavy duty enough. Personally I would stick with the ART for more adjustability and better pedal plate, and lower price, it's done very well for me
How well do you think it holds with a CSL DD on top? Great vídeo!
@@dannyleeracing thanks, i dont think that will be an issue
Hi mate would this be suitable with the CSL DD?

But do you think all will work with the Gt cockpit?
And afte seeing some test i will mostlikely wait and att the 8nm kit later, 150€ for a psu...most likely 3rd party will come.
But atm my DD will arive in nov, but the cockpit i am still unsure about.
What size monitors are u using and make?
They're 24" Iiyama's, basically these: amzn.to/3sd1fAs - any monitor with a low 5ms or below response time and a refresh rate of 120Hz or above is ideal
Just ordered one last night. Looking forward to using it, not going to use it for racing, but for Farming Simulator, yeah might be overkill, but I need a cockpit rather than table mount my wheel etc.. I ordered mine without the seat, and my plan is to use my old DXRacer chair on the rig. If someone has experience with this, let me know. Appreciate the help ☺
Can you move it forward as i am quite small so i like to be able to be as close to the wheel and pedals as possible
Do you think the wheel base stand part has enough adjustment to accommodate for the new csl dd?
The wheel baseplate could do with tilting up a little more for tall people, but the actual stand itself has plenty of adjustability. I'm 6 foot and I could have done with a few degrees more tilt to be absolutely perfect, however it was plenty useable and it would also be fixable with some basic parts. Before I got round to doing that, I upgraded to the Prime but I'd have been happy sticking with the ART if that opportunity didn't come.
@@dannyleeracing thank you for your reply 👍
hey how much can you lift it up in hight ? how many cm
Can you adjust the angle of the steering wheel with this?
Yes, but the range is quite limited, about 10 degrees tilt at most - fine for most wheelbases that have a tilt as standard but any zero-angle wheelbases (like a CSL DD) might be pointed too far down to be 100% to your liking
@@dannyleeracing that's not a problem, I prefer it coming straight at me, but I have the csl elite. Just wanted to be sure I can adjust some angle to have it to what I have it currently.
@@Empire_of_Ravens You'll be fine with a CSL Elite, that's what I use in this vid
Would this be rig be able to handle my current set up:
Modded G29 Wheel
Logitech G Pro Pedals (Brake Pedal is AT STIFFEST SETTING)
I reckon it would - no idea how stiff the G pro pedals can be but I used V3 pedals on the ART for a long time without real complaint
I have a CSL DD arriving late November , have you tried it on this rig?
@@dannyleeracing I'll check it out , thanks for the CSL DD videos , it was a big help in deciding to order one
@@lincolnklayvr No worries man, thanks for dropping by and watching - best of luck with it all
Do you think this cockpit would work well with the new CSL DD base?
It is strong enough for it, but there is not a lot of pitch angle to tilt the wheel up and down, and because the CSL DD is designed to mount flat to the wheel plate it does mean you might need to modify it to get it to tilt up enough if you're really tall. Otherwise, it's certainly capable of holding it.
@@dannyleeracing thanks!
I have the ART cockpit love it but does anyone know of a mod the can bring the monitor closer ? it adjusts up and down but not near and far
Can an 8year old use this?
How heavy is it in total? (I don’t need you to weigh it just maybe a estimate or something that we use in everyday life to compare it to)
I would say the ART alone is around 20kg, or 84 cups of tea - The seats are around 10kg
Hello everybody. I would like to buy the Gt omega Titan without a chair. Do you think it is possible to mount my Razer Iskur gaming seat on it? So I buy the basic one without the seat, and save some money :)
Like for the dog!
Does anyone know if this would be OK with the Moza R5
Yes, it would - add this adapter if you don't want to use the table clamp: mozaracing.com/product/r5-40mm-to-66mm-4-holes-adapter-plate/?ref=dannylee
@@dannyleeracing OK thanks, would it deal with the r9 well?
Too kind. But totally agree with everything said. Nice video man
You think this can handle 8nm CSL DD?
I'll be able to tell you exactly this soon!
How would u compare this to the titan?
Wider seat for nascar drivers xD
I see what you did there.
If you are in Europe the Treq One is €271.90 which is much stiffer and in the ball park of GT Omega ART. Also SimXPro has the R80 which is €247.11 another entry level aluminum profile rig. Some good alternatives if you're looking for an aluminum rig in Europe.
does it fit through a door?
Yep
How would this would with a csl dd 8nm
It's certainly strong enough for it, but the available pitch angle of the ART is quite limited and with a 0 degree mounting angle, the CSL DD is a bit problematic for cockpits that can't tilt up very far. Still works, don't get me wrong, but it was tilted up maximum and I would have liked a little bit more.
@@dannyleeracing well I have a 3d printer so maybe I can fix that
@@thisismyviewingchannel926 That could do it - or something like this www.cef.co.uk/catalogue/products/68532-3-x-14mm-hole-flat-plate-for-strut-sold-in-1-s?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1dGJBhD4ARIsANb6Odkv_Fb-hKE00ZH1B-YKmmCQi75IJwLGcgteY2ZtwmDrrc-dmXljg2MaAqJ9EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

No problem man, all I can do is keep racin' with it and let it speak for itself!
for me the ergonomics of this rig is horrible i couldnt fit it right 4 me and went custom diy 8020
It is possible to put the GT Omega ART in a formula style position?
Unfortunately not, the ART is only for GT/Normal style positioning and apart from the wheel column it can't really be changed around drastically
Can get it without monitor support just use it with my 4ktv

Scam
In what way? At least give me some reasoning so I can defend myself (unless you have a valid point)...
The biggest tip I have for people buying sim racing rigs is to find where all these companies buy their products so you can get it for the price they bought it at
What do you think of the RS12? The RS9 is £320 and RS12 Black and Carbon for £350 should I consider the RS12?
I'll be honest - the RS12 Carbon is a great looking seat but it isn't that comfortable - good for larger people though as it's got quite a wide footprint, reminds me of the RS XL. I've spent 12 hours solid in the RS9 in relative comfort and it's got a decent scoop, I'm not sure I could stand even 2 hours in the RS12 and it's not very 'buckety'. It might soften up over time but to me the RS12 is too firm.
Can this use next level motion platform
I would say not really - you would want something more rigid in the mid-section. The ART is plenty fine on the floor but I think you'd start hitting trouble adding a motion platform into the mix.
