    Fantastic video. I have a 95 Ford Mustang GT and the bolt came out the compressor. I got a new bolt and I installed three shims that came with the bolt kit. I need to check the gap. It does spin freely. I need to buy a feeler gauge. Thanks

    What causes the compressor not to cycle off and on during operation? I put a new compressor and I’m afraid the compressor running constantly will dry out.

    last year my problem was clutch squealing-slipping, not the belt. Eventually it would just quit running the conpressor like it turn off the magnet, then when cooled off it would turn back on as i am driving. So this year first time using after the winter no squealing likely rusty, but it still works for a while then turns off clutch, then drive miles and it turns back on. Gap is twice what it should be, So i removed clutch plate and there is one washer spacer. Plan to remove it. Someone suggested as it heats up, the shaft gets longer in the compressor and the gap gets too wide and it shuts off, then when it cools gap gets smaller and it turns on.

    Hey if anyone needs a good tip. You can test the compressor with a battery while it's still out to make sure your clutch engages. Don't do what I did

    Wow! you guys are amazing. I've got a 1996 corvette with the clutch locked up. I disconnected it and it still spins and is freezing over the refrigerant valve any ideas?

    • @zrulz
      @zrulz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Disconnected and still spinning makes me think yours welded itself together, the compressor is seized internally and is not shifting in and out and will not retract. You should unbolt the clutch and check to see if has welded together and from there you can tell if you need to replace the compressor clutch or the entire compressor & clutch assembly. Don't give up fixing your own vehicles.
