Teacher checkout list are ridiculous. Finding the people to get signatures takes so much time from cleaning your classroom.

Agreed. This year I was not feeling it. I got the key lady to sign, wrote n/a for the librarian, and stuck the checklist in my admin’s mailbox and ran.

Inquisitive: can’t solve problems on their own.

    As a former preschool teacher:
Independent = Your kid is selfish and possible psychotic. Keep an eye on your child.
Peace-keeper = Your kid doesn't stand up for themselves. They are a pushover.
Hard-worker = Your kid is bad at most things, but they try.
Charming = Your kid tries to manipulate people.
Optimistic = Your kid struggles with social interaction but they are happy all the time. Ignorance truly is bliss.
Focused = Your kid doesn't listen to anyone. Maybe some discipline will help?

Oh…a lot of these are so true… although back in 1996-97 school year, when you wrote the interim comments on paper and had to press really firmly to make sure all the layers were readable and at a time when parents were so much more reasonable, knew what their children were like and were honest about it, I did write on one child’s interim. “If _name_ put as much effort into his work as he does entertaining the class, his grades would be so much better.” Result, the child improved. Parent probably had seen this before. And “No.” No one asked me down to the office…

Since I live in So Cal, we don’t get the privilege of Snow Days lol 🤷🏽‍♀️

Snow day just means buses won’t be running but if you get to school another way you have to go and teachers have to be there for those who still show up we just watch movies and catch up on homework

They tried that.... once... in the nine years I've been teaching in an area known for snow.... the teachers pointed out that the principal herself wasn't there, so her blathering about the teachers not comingto work was just a buncha guff.
      I loooooove snow days
When I taught in Arizona, we had AC broken days, and Monsoon Flood days.... if it HAD snowed, we'd have had the day off. But that would take more than a cold day in hades.

I'm glad she didn't use vulgar language as she does in the comedy show.

When the 2-3 worse kids are absent/out of the room on the same day, it’s like Christmas.

@@amylee8969 They were never absent and rarely got sick! 😆Plus parents don't want them home either. Just gotta love them.

I loved snow days but we had to make those up during Spring Break, so what was more fun was when it snowed and we had a two-hour delayed start. Usually most parents would keep their kids home and I would have only 5 to 10 kids show up. We would play math and language games and have a grand day...plus we didn't have to make up a day.

Man, I'll fight my observer over learning targets! In the slide deck, on a printed poster and in the dang lesson plan! AND we refer to it!

So somehow i came across this from an advertisement for a LIVE one of these tired teacher jokes??? Seriously the "live shows" are the biggest and most lucrative scam on earth these days. Some of the best comedians in the world will do a live podcast which is also a money grab bit they're professionals at least. Saddest recommendation ive.ever come across.
Late edit. Sorry i just realized this is some niche of TH-cam where teacjers complain about the future leaders of the world. F them kids amiright?
