Glad you enjoyed. The launch control secret sauce was really enlightening. A couple more videos from Jack coming. Next one will be on some of the differences between the CBA and DBA transmissions. Lots I didn't know.
I didn't ask him about specific tuners he'd recommend. I am hopeful to interview another tuner and do a sort of "behind the scenes" how they tune a GT-R. I think that would be insightful.
Your videos are very informative, I been wanting to buy a gtr and based on a lot of this seems that is safer to go 2012 + , have you upgraded anything for reliability to your ( trans clips, mods ect.) ?
Thanks.. No, I haven't upgraded anything. I don't launch the car, so for the most part it's very reliable. I agree, the 2012+ transmissions have a number of upgrades that make them more durable.

Is there still concern about putting the car in R mode if you choose to shift manually with the paddles instead of keeping it in auto? That would be an awesome clarification!
Even though you are shifting manually, the GT-R is still trying to anticipate what you will do and shift into another gear while you are driving. I will ask Jack though and will post his response.
@@The.Garage.Studio That is good to know then. I've always driven the car in "R" Mode and manual shifting because it shifts quicker but I'll definitely change that to prolong the life and health of the transmission
So is it ok to use manual mode With R mode being deactivated?! If it's yes, then won't that drove us back to the first principle of not using the R mode considering that in Manual mode we basically shift ourselves with all the shift/rpm holds that we love to keep the car torquey? Hope u got my point
@@The.Garage.Studio hardly a monster as there well behind for pace especially in today’s competition. Hands down one of the most over rated cars in the last 20 years . Around town driving there absolutely horrid with garbage quality interior, shocking clunky unrefined gearbox never mind the poor driving position & no room so yeah a modern “classic” 🤣
That's great info from Jack, especially the part about the launch control. Thanks a lot to Jack for sharing this.

I always put it in R..... Guess I wont anymore. Good information.
If you want the trans to last. I did the same for years.
Thanks for making these videos, I've learned a lot about the GT-R.
Thanks a lot. Couldn't have made them without the help of Jack. I do have more planned. Brakes is next.
Awesome content
Thanks so much. It's so easy when you get someone awesome to interview!!
Golden information, Thank you 👌
So nice of you. Thanks.
Great video! Did he offer any recommendations on tuners he recommends? Or that follow the guidelines he discusses?

When you spoke about max hp on a GTR, were you talking about stock block and trans with FBO when Jack said 900 hp and 750 wheel torque?
Stock Block, Stock Trans. When he mentioned that he was taking into account the elevation where he's at in Colorado Springs - 6,000'
Good video

This is Jack's answer: "Hello! To answer that question real quick- manual or auto doesn’t matter. The gear prediction works the same in R Mode. "
