EXCELLENT review. It was calm, orderly, un-rushed. I felt every important detail - was focused on, and I was allowed to "sink in" and truly understand everything. I feel I'm well informed on the seat, the food, and the lounge. Also. NO loud stupid hiphop beat and music, no crazy graphics. Just sheer normalcy. I think you. I've just subscribed and looking forward to seeing whaat else your channel has featured. Safe travels.
Thanks for the review. However you visited the Polaris lounge with a wonderful range of food and what do you choose? A bloody burger! Your 'savoir faire' overwhelms me my friend. Next time, visit MacDonald's, you will be much more happier there.
A very nice review. Newark International airport is my nearest airport. I live 15 miles away. Did you fly out of the new Terminal A or you had to use Terminal C which is mostly United flights everywhere? I do agree about the american airline carriers they continue to be at the bottom of the list in terms of everything they do not want to learn and become a top #1 rated by the travel and tourism magazines. Thank you kindly hope you enjoyed Munich, Germany.
Right now, it appears United is using Terminal A at Newark for 737max, A320 family, and some older 737 domestic flights to the South and Midwest with some select Caribbean/Latin America flights at Terminal A as well. Terminal C is still being used for all of United widebody operations especially Gates 120-139 to Europe Africa Asia Brazil. Most older 737 flights and their regional flights/planes are still found at Terminal C as well. To connect between the terminals there's a free shuttle bus for passengers at gates A28 and C70 respectively. The Polaris lounge is also at Terminal C
I had an awful experience at the Polaris lounge at Newark a few months ago. It was really, really bad. But not as bad as the Polaris flight to Milan. I was shocked as how crappy it was. I'm glad you had a good experience. The minute I got to my hotel, I got on the computer to re-book my return flight on another airline. It was sad. I just want people to know that Polaris is not great for everyone. I don't know why, but the crew was lost, the drinks were warm, the food was horrific. Seriously. I ordered the beef. It had clearly been in the oven for wayyy too long, and, also tasted of fish (also in the oven). Served in what was boiled over onto the plate. No sundae, no, nuts, I had to ask for a drink, and by drink, I mean water, so... Have you heard of, or had, that kind of experience?
I think United has 2 variants of the 767, 1 of which is much older and will be retired quite soon.. will the other younger variant continue to be operational, hopefully? Would be really sad if 767s didn’t fly anymore 😔😔
It really was not as disruptive as I expected. However, the flight crew did not do a very good job at enforcing the "Polaris only" rules there. It was supposed to be for Polaris, and there was a partition between premium economy and that Polaris bathroom.
For anyone that hasn't been to a polaris lounge before I hope you all get the chance just once in your life. It is an experience you will never forget. I visited the one in SFO for the first time last year had about 6-7 hours in the lounge waiting for my connecting flight to Seoul on Asiana. BTW not just united flights but any star alliance flight in business class or first class (one guest allowed in). Word of advice here breakfast menu on polaris lounge dining room can be a hit or miss so I would avoid morning flights (lunch/ dinner menu not available during breakfast hours).
I hope you get to experience some of the lounges in other parts of the world, it will expand your horizons beyond where you are right now. Any Qatar Airways lounge in Doha airport is head and shoulders above any United offering, and I’m saying that as a Silver level member of both United and Qatar.
To be honest, I think they just haven't updated all of their aircraft to the new livery yet. They announced the new "out with the gold, in with the blue" paint schemes in 2019, but obviously world events caused them to tighten the purse strings a bit and they had issues with some vendors. Now I believe they have started updating the paint schemes again on their aircraft to the new blue look. They just have so many it will take a while... They said it could take up to 7 years!
I work in the engineering & maintenance side of the aviation industry. It can take years for all of an airlines aircraft to be repainted into a specific scheme. Airliners are repainted every 6-10 years, environmental factors considered. It’s not cheap, or quick to repaint an airliner.
EWR- departing international, Polaris. It won't let me complete online check in because I have to present visas. Fine. ANYONE OUT THERE......can I do bag-drop at premier access BEFORE I do the check in and print boarding passes? Also, are there porters outside who help lug bags if you pay them? I have 5 large bags....and luckily I pulled a butt muscle this morning so this will be fun. And if that gave anyone a visual, well, as a 48 year old overweight man - -I am flattered
Yes, if you are on an international flight in Chicago there is also a smaller Polaris Lounge there. If you are flying domestically, you do get access as well to the United Lounge.
great video. but primitive mealservice. no luxury. where is that average champagne?. NO INTERNATIONAL FIRST CLASS CABIN. UA no way...but as mentioned superb video quality
Thank you for the comment! For an American airline, the service and offerings are fairly standard. But it definitely does not live up to the offerings from most European and Asian airlines for sure...
The larger Middle Eastern airlines I’ve experienced such as Qatar & Etihad have incredible business class service, but it can come with an annoyingly expensive price tag (cough Emirates cough).
All (all) airline food is garbage. The type of food you'd send back to the kitchen in any restaurant. Yep, I'm old... but I well remember my first international flight with my folks in 1968. ORD - LHR on the infamous TWA770, 707. First class. Dinner was served by a chef, donned in a wrapped, full length white apron and tall chefs hat, carving prime rib from a silver rolling cart. How far we've come. And dressed like slobs.

Thank you so much! We really appreciate the feedback! Always trying to improve 😄
I loved how you weaved story into the review. Well done, loved the edits and just the way you filmed stuff. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, that means a lot! 😄
Thank you for sharing your trip here.

Was the bathroom closest to you disruptive? Is it only for Polaris?

@@theseasonedexpats thanks. In 17A right now and the only other available is 16,18 or 12. So trying to decide if I should stay with 17

@@get2dachoppa249 of course
i hope to but I don't get to travel for work abroad and such so kinda hard
Why are some United jets in the normal continental airlines livery while others are a different shade of blue

Wow, interesting! Thanks man for replying to me 🙏🏻

Do you get accesses in chicago if you pay buisness class in chicago

You should give the price no matter what it is. this helps people make a decision
Untied has sooo many old aircraft..
