    Very enjoyable video. I flew Polaris 5 times this year and 4 of them were in the aisle window seats. Despite what it looks like when you walk past it, it actually still offers surprisingly good privacy. The divider is enough for you to not be able to see anyone at all. All 4 flights had a window directly in the gap (and honestly I feel like it’s a good design in that the airline can cram more seats in yet still give everyone a window). I think the seat map might be slightly inaccurate, since the layout almost always guarantees 2/3 windows for the window-window seat., and then at least more than half a window for the aisle-window seat. Bedding is absolutely amazing and I think their catering is starting to improve. I’ve had a few meals that weren’t that bad.
    Sure, it probably wouldn’t compete with Q-suite with the service and catering, but I still think it’s an amazing product.

      Thanks!
      I’ve sat in the aisle-window seat too, and while it’s private, I still feel a bit on display when people walk by. The odd-numbered seats are the better ones, so if you’re booking a pricy last minute ticket, you might get stuck with the worse seat. I agree this layout lets United squeeze in more seats, and we’ll probably see more of it on other airlines in the future.
      If United just fixed their food, I would have nothing to complain about. Until then, when it comes to Star Alliance, I think it's best to fly on a redeye from North America to Europe with United, and come back with Swiss, whose catering is great, or Lufthansa who has the coolest planes(A340s, A380s, 747s).
      Anyway, thanks again for watching!

      I’ve only flown on Air Canada on two segments (I fly back on them in a couple days) and so far, I agree. But the Air Canada trip is putting me over the threshold for status on United for half the price it would be on United

      I wish AC had economy plus on their widebodies though.

    My family and I travel on United Polaris 8 to 9 times a year. We are used to Polaris and are familiar with what to eat and what not to eat. The noodles, I would of advised you not to order. The food is got better. In August we flew on Tgai airway business class and the food was better but it took for ever for meal service to start and end. I prefer my entire meal to be on one tray. Thai airway FA walked thru the gallery and checked on us more often than United FA but when we took United Polaris to Tokyo in August the FA were on point

    • @airalmond
      @airalmond  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, the noodles were truly atrocious. I think the catering depends a lot on the departure airport. EWR is probably the worst, but I have seen better catering on United from some EU airports like Munich and Zurich.
      Thanks for watching!

    Enjoyable video. Nice work! You could definitely work on your French language pronunciation! "A la cart-ay?" "Rata-tooly?" But that's being nitpicky... you put a lot of work into this, and United's business class has certainly improved since I last used it. Looking forward to checking out your next trips!

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video! And thank you for the feedback!
      I definitely need to work on my pronunciation(especially if I want to be a snob) and voice recordings overall. I enjoy the writing process, creating animations, and video editing the most, so I tend to focus more on those, which I think causes the audio to suffer.

    Sorry but I can’t respect this degree of snobbery from someone who can’t even pronounce “à la carte.” It’s French! The e is silent, even in English

    Great video thank you. New sub here 😊. It’s ironic you mention service and soft product as US airline Flight attendants are always harping on about how they are there primarily for our safety and nothing else..so I don’t understand the conflict when videos praise Singapore or Etihad for soft product compared to the crap any us carrier puts out?

      I think the difference in service mostly comes down to cultural differences in how service and service jobs are perceived in each region.
