Good review. I like your genuine analysis of the food. As an Irishman, I found it amusing that the cabin crew member making the pre-take-off announcement sounded Irish!
Thank you for video! I'm planning an trip with my partner who has never flown business before. It's helpful to note that the even numbers seats have limited views outside, so I'm definitely making sure they don't sit there. Keep up the great work!
This video came up recently on my suggestions as I traveled to London from Newark a few weeks ago. I can start by saying it's all about perspective., We all know Polaris seats are based on average size people, not 5'11" or 6'5" heights so yeah the will feel kinda tight. Regarding my dinner and breakfast ours was probably the best tasting chicken dishes we've had ever and our breakfast was excellent, zero complaints there and like I said before it's about perspective as not all flights are the same even from the same carrier. The only thing I can say about it is that Polaris is beginning to show it's age. My next trip is to Berlin and I will most likely be flying the 747-8 Lufthansa which is something to look forward to. FYI.....Nice video.
I recently flew United first class to and from Cancun. Going there the food was pretty bad but returning was pretty good, so a mixed bag. Your food looked really sad though! Thanks for another great trip report. ❤✈️
I just remember how UA was back in the early 2000s and 1990s. The food was exquisite - and the menus were gorgeous with photography or artwork on the front.
@@nycflyertravelOk this is amazing, I’m planning a trip to London and I need advice on which airline is better, British Airways , United, or jetBlue? How do you manage to save money on trips like this?
@@N.B-2021 in my opinion, JetBlue is the best, but you’ll still have a nice trip if you fly with United or BA. I save money by trying to fly during the Spring and Fall, which are usually cheaper.
Yes, I agree with you about , when you can, go to the airline lounge and eat a nice preflight meal because you never know what to expect on the flights. And then if you can at the end of the flight as well going to the lounge. If they are open to whatever times in the evenings. Polaris Lounge is nice and
Booked a short-notice flight, so I’ll be on one of these 763s out of ZHR. Doesn’t seem any different than the 772s I’m used to, except for the lack of pajamas due to it not being a 14 hr flight.
Thanks for a very comprehensive trip report. It really highlights how far behind north American airlines have fallen when compared to companies like Qatar, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Turkish.
I'm right there with you, last 767 flight I has was close to 10 years ago, but have two international 767 flight segments next month during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Exactly,United must do something about the inflight food they serve. The seat and amenities are good but the stomach deserves also the business class!.Thanks for your video NYC Flyer!
I think there is causality between the lack of air nozzles and the fact that the plane came from Hawaiian Airlines. The 3 ex-HA 767s, 22 ex-CO 777s, and 767-400s are the only United planes with no gaspers. All narrowbodies, Dreamliners, and 777-300ERs have gaspers
Great review! But I'm miffed at UA serving good like that in BF. I think they really do not care. The bean counters are driving the decisions. As long as passengers are flocking onto their planes, how you feel about their food is irrelevant. I can't begin to imagine what they served in economy class.
Good video. That meal was atrocious and has no place on an international business class flight. I do NOT believe that the "great ice cream sundae" excuses the other shortcomings.
I think you’ve escaped the herd mentality that seems to pervade a lot of av geek vloggers . With the continuing devaluation of points is it really worth what they are asking for business class when these United 767-300’s are recently refreshed in economy with new seats and IFE? No is the answer .
I’ve flown UA internationally a fair amount in the last 5 months, both trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific. The cabin crews to a degree make up for some shortcomings in other areas, but shortcomings in on-board catering are hard to overcome.
That ain't a suite. Airlines like Emirates has suites. I'm a UNITED 2,000,000 miler and I hate them and think they are the worst airline in the US. None American reviewers flew Polaris and all said it sucked. I've flown this 8:30 AM departure to LHR myself last year and have to say "it sucked". American provides pre-packaged meals and drinks in plastic cups in their "so called" First Class on a 777-300. Basically all the US carriers suck. In future I'm going to go with European carriers.
Be careful what you wish for. There are European carriers that have comparable service reviews to US based airlines. Lufthansa & Swiss come to mind, & I've flown both in business.
@@get2dachoppa249 Why would I fly them when I have 2 million miles on United in. I hate them and everything they do, but when something goes wrong the status kicks in and you get helped. European airlines are no much better. The Asian and mid-east are now the best.
Well known for that in recent years. They use to have decent food but seriously downgraded it and the way it's served on a single tray. Even truly long haul it's all the same.
I have not been a UA fan for many years and I am sorry to say, your video did nothing to impress me to return to UA. Their food alone has always been mediocre and their presentation is just as bad. Why people pay to fly UA(AA and DL as well) is beyond me but they must have money or miles and could care less about the lack of service! Thanks for your report but try an international carrier next time!!!!!
Thanks for watching. In terms of American carriers I think United is very good, but they really don’t compare to some of the big international airlines.
This such a silly comment. People pay to fly Delta, AA, and United because they cover so many routes. Those are the first, second, and third largest airlines in the world, and by a considerable margin. Of course you would pick Singapore Air or Qatar all else being equal., but the route and timing are the issues.
@@grob13isn1 Agree 100%. I've flown all 5 airlines mentioned this year alone, and the two major reasons I've started flying UA again after 13 years is because 1. They fly where & when I need to go (Dubai-back home to the NYC area, Pacific/Asian routes such as Hawaii, Guam, & Tokyo ) I can fly out of Dubai at 2 am, and be with my fam in Floriday around noon the same day. 2. Their biz airfares can be reasonable during certain times of the year (off peak, non-holiday) compared to both QR (love their QSuites) & SQ (most comfortable biz seat ever).
Absolutely not! Their meals and service are well below average but there is no reason for them to go out of Business. Their United Polaris (as a seat) is incredible!
Like I said before. UA is a rundown company. NO INTERNATIONAL FIRST CLASS only that "a nightmare" bizclass. Try Air France La premiere or Lufthansa First class. And top notch Singapore FIRST@@sfsskycracker1448
Polaris flight serve drinks I plastic cup, Eva, ANA, Cathayair serve drinks in glass or champagne glass if you ordering champs, they serve from salad, appetizers, dinner and desert one after the other, never serve in a tray like economy class, what a joke, you probably didn’t fly bus or first class international on Asian airlines .
Thank you so much! Been trying to find a review of the inner seat forever. And I learned that United has a London based crew!
Thanks for watching
That’s not that unusual. United also has Japan based flight crews because of their substantial Asian & Southern Pacific network.

Thanks for the seat recommendations. Flying Polaris for the first time next year
Enjoy your flight!
Best seat is 1A or 1L. You have a very large footwell (larger than any seats) and the proximity to the galley and bathroom is not a problem.
going on our first trip ever in business class on United to Zurich. Can't wait to use the lounges and whatever else we get.

I couldn't see the whole cabin - what seats would be best for a couple traveling together?
I don’t think the cabin is really conducive for couples traveling together. You’re probably best just getting two window seats.
Polaris seats are great but I find United's food and service out of Houston to be inconsistent.
Yeah, that’s one are they need to improve
appreciate your foot well review. it nixed the even number seats as a possibility.

Exactly the problem is UA is it's basically economy food put on a nicer plate.
Those noodles! Worst you ever had 😂 priceless.

The UK is beautiful.
62K miles is equivalent to how many money?
I flew Polaris from Newark to Delhi in may ,the food was awful on that flight too, but the crew really made up for it .
They definitely need to improve their catering. Thanks for sharing!
Does anyone know, why is the Apple juice served on flights literally the best Apple juice ever?
Somehow, the Apple juices available in supermarkets are nowhere near as good as those on flights.. is there a secret about airline apple juices??
It’s probably because your tastebuds on flights are slightly altered so that some things taste better and some things taste worse
Good video. That meal was atrocious and has no place on an international business class flight. I do NOT believe that the "great ice cream sundae" excuses the other shortcomings.
Yeah, thankfully United has announced that they’ll be improving their inflight catering.
That's annoying that one passenger caused the delay 🤦🏻♂️

Usual cafeteria food onboard from United. In need of huge upgrade they seem to continue ignoring.
I can't believe that even in Business they serve bad food.
