The 6.7s are the fastest hands down from my experience. It’s nice they do trans tuning on the powerstroke. Kinda weird they don’t have a TCM upgrade for the L5P at least when I ordered mine they didn’t. Had to go to calibrated power and get a TCM.

Did my buddies Duramax (lml) this year. Took forever cause we never get time off🙄 we swapped the cp4, proflow manifolds and up pipes and new y bridge and intake. It used to run 13 mpg and it runs a solid 22 now. It was too aggressive😂 (over reving the engine) and couldn't floor it kinda like you said here and was breaking the tires loose (35's) so we detuned it to 75hp. haven't finished the exhaust LoL it dumps out the downpipe but super clean tune we're really happy so far lag is non-existent now👍👍👍 and it sounds 🤩 amazing 🤩 no smoke at all👍
@@finances-hp8ng a properly tuned truck won't smoke. The truck has 150hp tune and doesn't smoke at all. Dialed it back to 75hp and burns clean as well. A tuner should chime in but I've seen a stock exhaust used with a tuned engine caused trouble. (To much back pressure). It was a semi engine but I think it still applies.
Have read to give some time for the trans to learn, after a tcm adjustment. This may apply to the 17s range for 6r140 trans, as i am not sure with the 10 speeds. With a 75hp tune and tcm specific tune....71 mph is a sweet spot for interstate trips for mpg gains. Thanks for the honest review and driving considerations of your location.
Agreed. After doing tunes and a dp f delete only it shows I'm getting 28-34 mpg at 60 mph with the cruise set. I wonder if the tuning messed with the instant mpg. Time to do a hand calculate

Has anyone whose done this noticed a much higher air intake volume at idle? A friend of mine did this exact same kit on his 2020 and now its sucking a crazy amount of engine air at idle. New air filter and cleaned the MAF sensor. He came from a Duramax and this is his first Powerstroke and first time using GDP Tunes. The Edge monitor reading is around 150 g/m at idle. Just curious if this is normal with those tunes or not.

I like all 3 manufacturers so I’m not brand specific but I wanted an opinion from someone who has personally drove these trucks stock versus d/t and see which one you’d go with. Go with a Ram Cummins with the mega cab if you can find them. They are very reliable and the most roomy for the driver if you have to sleep in the truck once in awhile if doing any type of “hotshot trucking”.
I wouldn't recommend deleting unless you're actively having problems constantly. I had a terrible experience with proven diesel and so far haven't been all that impressed with the truck compared to stock

Funny thing is I asked if they could change individual parameters and the tech support guy said he has absolutely no idea how the software even works or what it changes. He said he basically just plays on a drag and drop interface with the information you give them. For the 2018 dodge like mine it was basically determined that that file was defective so I got a 2017 tune instead
I don't think those transmissions are as tough as they should be. Have a buddy that does hotshot trucking and he traded his Ram that had 400kmi on a new (at the time) 22 alumiduty. He wanted to try the 10 speed transmission. He lost his transmission and the CP4 fuel pump within 40k miles. Transmission went out first and the CP4 a few thousand miles later. Warranty covered it, but he was states away and specifically the CP4 took over a month due to back ordered parts. He was basically forced into buying another RAM because he couldn't afford to wait. Trucks not rolling, it's not making any money.
@@Scottypowpow the tune didn’t ruin the transmission and it wasn’t the tuner‘s fault I even had PPEI trans tuning. This transmission just simply failed even with all the supporting mods. It’s just a shitty transmission the clutch hub that the input shaft spines into are made out of aluminum!!!!! which is bonkers blows my mind how crappy these transmissions are
@@awdeveau well gotta be careful even with the 2019+ Rams and their hydraulic lifter failures, taking out motors left and right my buddy owns a fleet of 2019+ rams and had five of them go down in one year all needing new motors plus they’re 68 RFE transmission isn’t the best either I think the best Truck ever made is a fourth GEN Cummins with the six speed Allison but that’s only offered in the 3500 1 ton line of trucks that are pretty pricey but from working in the oil fields with a bunch of hotshot drivers, they always pointed to that truck as being the best

I highly recommend figuring out a way to see your EGT’s. Depending on the tunes you get, the truck will no longer warn you when its getting hot

Why are you doing the runs in tow/haul mode? If you turn it off that trans will skip shift to make it faster. Just curious

You’d be fine with stock headbolts😂 my 2018 3500 isn’t studded yet and i daily tune 3 or 4 with no issues (3 is +120hp and 4 is +200hp)

I have a 22 powerstroke and the only HP gains is 55.. I wonder why the 20-21 have a 5 stage on fly switch that goes up to 200hp??

I think it was in number 3, I should have done the fuel milage tests in settings 1 and 5 to compare them, next time I will.

You just list all the mods when you order the tunes and they will custom build you files specific for your upgrades.

That's not how you check the mpg my friend. I've got a 2018 and the best it has got is 21.2 mpg and that's mostly flat very few hills.
