Chargers, and hand sanitizer gets you tips, too. I also have LED lights under the seat, so it creates this premium experience once you get in the car.
Make them FEEL obligated to tip. For new drivers, I'm telling you, these things work.

As a 5 Star Platinum driver, mostly Lyft Lux category, my tips are 16-20%. 4k+ rides part-time. My habit is to ask questions and let people open up about themselves. Always be polite, help with luggage, and … like mom said, “you have to be a friend to have a friend.”

    • @bryancrowe7292

Hey my friend we do not get all of our tips! I always ask my customers what they were charged for the trip after this. I drove a couple from one casino to another maybe 5 miles she just wanted to let me know she tipped me so she said the ride was 9.20 and she tipped me 5.00 which is 14.20! I got paid 6.20 so either I got all my tips and one dollar for the ride or four dollars for the ride and $2.20 in tips. Either way u want to look at it I was not paid all I should have gotten.

    • @FitnessConnect
      @FitnessConnect 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@StrokaReviews It’s a damn shame drivers have to resort to stuff like that. You will have some riders who think you have a negative attitude and wonder why you are driving on the app if you are aware of such practices, and won’t want to tip or tip less, then turn around a give a low rating because you introduced negative sentiments into their “experience”, and yes many riders are prone to trip like that. They respond exactly the opposite of what you expect when you say something negative about Uber/Lyft even if you’re actually right about the tip grabbing and pay shenanigans.
Another approach would simply be create a positive feeling /scenario where the rider is simply compelled to tip you directly, via those same payment on-ramps you listed & QR. Codes. The fact that you simply have that system set up for direct tipping alone is “positive image” in my opinion. Why bring Uber negatives into it?
Rather than a note bring Uber Lyft stealing into it, I’d likely post: (Tipping directly always insures I receive 100% of your tip, helps support small business, and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!) And leave it at that.
This doesn’t directly compel negative discussion about Uber and Lyft, but instead simply prompts them to ACT on your behalf.

I am a 4.99 with 498 5 stars and 2 4 stars! I was a bartender for 20 years at high end restaurants and Jay nailed all the points that I use! I average 20 to 30 percent in tips by using everything he just said! I took a Lyft with Ahmed he drove like we were in Phuket! He had his American license for 3 months! I told him at the end of the ride that he might want to not drive so aggresive! I shower I shave I clean my car inside everyday my windows and door handles everyday! Everyone gets a smile and a hello and I repeat where we are going to pax before driving and I turn around and give the pax a smile and have an awesome rest of your day! Just a thought on reading the room, and mind you I only just started driving for Uber, but one of my recent riders was on the phone after I had picked her up from the hospital, she was discussing having been in an accident that day. While I was not being nosey, it did bring to my attention to give more distance than usual between my car and others to help her feel more comfortable during the ride after her ordeal. I think reading the room includes.paying attention to things like that...not being intrusive, just being perceptive of unrealized personal comforts of our passengers.

I love the idea, but I live in Los Angeles. These people here take so many Ubers and Lyfts that to tip everyone would probably make them go bankrupt. For some, we are simply the vehicle they don't have to get to work (often doing hospitality/caretaking) and to just get around because by bus is impractical. I consider myself lucky if someone pays it forward and sees the value in my service, but depending on the area, it's nearly impossible. People are low income. It doesn't matter how great your car is, your driving, your relating, or what it may be. If you aren't in a tipping sort of area, you can't rely on anyone doing so.

In the long run, there are a lot of people who just don't tip. For me, I don't even waste my time and breathe with some people. We also know if we drive in an area where there are people from other countries, they do not tip. I can't afford a lux car. I get compliments for how clean my car is, and how friendly I'm at and I stay at %10 tips in the last 2 weeks that I started driving. Maybe I shouldn't take the people from foreign countries, maybe that will increase my tips.

He means that the total customer tip amount should be up to 20% not 20% of your customers to drove leave a tip. I average 35% tips of my net fare with UberX ($500 net fare and $175 total tips for week) I average about 30% to 40% of the total number of customers leave a tip This means of 100 riders I drove 25-40 left a tip of some amount.) With Uber eats I average 150% of the basic deliver fee (Basic delivery fees for week $500 and $750 in tips but lately Uber Eats customers have been tipping less or Uber is screening bigger orders away from me).

Another guy had several drivers decline his ride which he changed when I picked him up, although it took 65 minutes and only made 25 for a 40 mile trip with uber X. Be adaptable. He gave me a 20 cash tip and the woman gave 13 tip on Lyft app.

In my experience most people that have undesirable trips do not tip. And if they play the game to hide the problem with their trip they are very likely to not tip. I know a few people like to tip in these situations but most do not. Most do not care at all. I have heard lots of drivers say these riders view us as glorified public transportation and that really echoed how most of them feel and act. I average 35% of of my net fare in tips. I do this by paying attention areas and situations where people tend to tip more and I apply the steps above. But it is frustrating when the net fare is so consistently low as it has been in my area lately.

The Best Way to get a Tip almost every time after following the steps in this video is to nicely ask for a Star ⭐️ Rating Review. Instead of the rider just leaving and going on with their day you are just asking for them to leave a star rating which is easy for them. They will do it and right underneath the star rating is the tip section. They will most likely now feel a bit inclined to leave a tip because they will feel a little guilty to just leave a star rating. This works very nice 👍🏼

Summary of tips in this video:
    1. Read the room. Observe whether or not they want to talk. Short replies usually mean they don't want to talk. Longer ones usually mean they're open to talk.
    2. Be relatable. Find things you share in common and talk about them more.
    3. Aim to talk ~20% of the time, and listen ~80% of the time.
    4. Provide professional service. Look nice. Smell nice. Outside of car is clean. Inside of car is clean. Drive at medium pace, slow around turns, stop and accelerate slowly.

The number one way to get tips by miles is this....you must be self-deprecating. The reason it works is because 99% of other Uber drivers are self-centered losers. Its all about them and their silly "war with Uber". You on the otherhand are taking all the abuse in stride. You are for ever grateful for riders who are not part of all that...focus in on THAT. When they say "hows your day"...you exhale and say,,,"better I sense with you in my car" "holly hell the winners I have had so far...well enough of that hows your day friend?".
