I used to clock $1200 a week doing the same hrs without breaking a sweat. The issue is that both companies are taking more than their fair share from rides. For instance, one of my passenger was charged $40.00,but I got N15,28 . Another passenger was charged N30.00,I got payed N9.00. How can you ever break even when you're being robbed blind ?
I was instantly questioning this experiment when he said that he started his day at 3AM. Was thinking to myself: "he's only going to be profitable for a few hours with that schedule". Every veteran driver that I know (and I know a lot of them, being a former top recruiter in my region for Lyft drivers), says the most profitable hours are to start late in the afternoon, and to work through the night - ending with AM airport trips. Otherwise, you're just going to wind up accepting a bunch of short day trips with people doing mid-day errands.
I drove in San Francisco from March 1st 2017 thru December 16th 2018 I did over 15,000 rides in which I grossed over $204,976.89. I did over 9,000 rides in 2018 in San Francisco and I was making between $2,700 to $3,000 a week. I still drive, but not like I use to anymore.
I’ve been driving since October 2016 here in Atlanta. Back then you could get $700 to 800 just in bonuses, promotions, Quests etc…so to get to 2k you only needed Roughly $1.2 to 1.4k in trip fares which we’re paying higher. Today all promotions are practically gone and trips are paying 20 to 25 percent less than before. You can get to 2k but it will take working 12 hours for 7 days and having luck on your side every day to make $300. Even that you didn’t make $300 because you started with $45 to $50 of gas. Yes it’s possible but not consistently.
I make 2k a week with Lyft. I have the screen shots to prove it. I make 1000 pretty easy. I live in Philadelphia and I make 220 to 285 a day 7 days a week. Again anyone thinks I'm lying I can send screen shots. I have a 2024 Elantra 20 bucks a day in gas over 30 miles per gallon. After my drive bonuses I'm at 2200 to 2400. I will say though without tips it may be absolutely impossible I'd hit like 1700 or 1800
@@coronagirlsandjelly2033 it all depends, I actually live right outside of Philadelphia it was just easier to say Philadelphia cause most of my rides bring and keep me there. You don't think lyft was throttling you? Because it seemed like you would always get slow towards the end of your shift no matter what time it was. Even when the day before it was busy at that time or Friday slowing down after midnight doesn't seem right
I'm a new driver and experienced my first throttling as I was close to achieving my first quest bonus. Firstly, I want to say that I love the Rideshare Guy channel, and I really enjoy your content. I just watched the episode "Can I Make $2,000 a Week in a Mid-Tier Market?" with Jay Cradeur. Sorry, but I have to call bullshit on that. Not only did you not work seven days a week, but you're also claiming to make $30 to $35 per hour consistently. I work in one of the busiest markets in the world-the Tri-State area of New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. I live just 10 minutes from New York City, Just so you are aware I have been driving for 6 years and done 17,000 rides and those numbers are long gone, my friend. The $30 to $40 per hour rates are history. There are too many drivers, including a lot of Illegal immigrants, saturating the market. Where you used to see 50 to 60 drivers at the airport, now there are 270 to 300 waiting in the queue. I haven't seen a surge since the 4th of July, and that only lasted two hours. I haven’t seen any bonuses or ride promotions in months. I know tons of drivers, and we talk all the time. Not one of them made more than $1,300 for the week, even working 12 hours a day, seven days a week. One driver driving Uber Black didn’t get one ride request in 5 hours. He had to do Uber share just to get a ride. On a Saturday, you used to be able to work 12 hours and make $500 to $600, no problem. Now, the max is around $275, and you're filling up your car twice as often. I work in a market where they don’t show upfront pricing. The real problem is dead miles-driving between passengers without earning money. Driving back from a long drop-off out of state eats into your profits. And then there's the downtime-waiting for rides, which can significantly reduce your hourly earnings. So, sorry, but I don’t believe your numbers. Maybe they were accurate last year or two years ago, but definitely not today. You remind me of drivers who claim they just did a ride for $175 but can never show the receipt. Or those who say they got a $200 ride but can only prove a $100 fare and a $100 tip. Jay do not mislead people to get click bait. How much money did you really make. I'm saying: gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, hours away from love ones, health concerns. IDK Even at one thousand a week, it's not worth it to some people. I've heard of rideshare drivers running off the road because their tired and were driving for too many hours.
I was in the Florida keys 4 peak covid we had no mask ordinances we had no lockdowns all the bars are open it's the party was wide open in Key West the mayor tried to dampen it but it didn't work. Ronnie DeSantis put the kibosh on her attempts. We were doing 35 - 4000 a week some weeks more
Key West in Florida keys for pandemic wide open every bar every resort party was on full blast. Are mayor attempted to shut it down But ron DeSantis put a spanking on her and the party went on. While the rest of the country living like communist under dictatorship following the government's rules we were free.
I made $10k in one month during peak covid in miami during spring break. Those were the days. The infinite money glitch of using area filter to stay in the surge zone and taking $10 $20 short 10 minute rides days are gone. I could make $70 to $100 per hour 😅.
Word thank you so much! I just got laid off, out all these apps this one has made me the most money, and instacart, i only take 25-50 dollar batches or more
When I drove Uber and left years ago pre-pandemic it was not difficult to make about $300 a day but yeah now it's more difficult than ever to be able to balance things out simply due to fuel being as expensive as it is, insurance rates being up, and Uber particularly taking a larger cut. Factor in wear and tear on the car, the liability of dealing with car jackings like here in the D C area and you might find yourself in a loose loose situation.
If I am driving for more than two hours I go nuts. I can’t sit still that long and traffic exacerbates it. Feels like my skin is crawling sometimes. Going to find some desperate bar girls over there?
Was that experiment done in Sacramento or San Francisco? Do you accept every ride they offer you? Like ~ 3$ ride or ride with long pickup short dropoff (9 miles total for 5$)? Can you make the video with more details with screenshots from the app (Ride frequency, rides payment). I have tried to do 10 hours a day, one day i got lucky around 300$ due to a couple long distance rides that paid around 40$ /hr, the other two days all short rides with a lot of wasted time waiting for a ride and made 160-180$. I noticed that unless you have a long distance ride or surged price ride it is hard to reach more than 200$, even if you accept every short rides they offer ( assuming its is busy and you can get 3-4 ride per hour) they are priced so you make 20-24$ per hour. It is really slow to get the numbers, sometimes a whole hour pass without even one ride offered on both app, SF South bay to SF market , also just a friendly warning to anyone trying 12 hours: pull over and rest whenever you feel sleepy don't fight it.
Jay - Please explain your comment, “…woman who requested a cash ride…” at 5:17 mark of video. Did you move someone off a platform and take cash? Do you have commercial insurance for this cash ride? Do you suggest all drivers try to move customers off the platforms to cash wherever possible?
@@DanKirschten no Dan - a driver that actually cares that drivers don’t scam passengers into cash or Venmo rides without insurance. No one is safe when this happens. Sorry if this is your business model. It is bad enough that drivers do this everyday with passengers, yet I did not think it would be included on a “Rideshare Guy” video for how to earn more.
$30 for this video per hour not including time required for record keeping, refueling, washing, cleaning, vacuuming and maintenance. In Las Vegas lately I average about $23 per hour for Uber only. Again that on platform time only. The Rideshare gig has definitely gone downhill.
Massachusetts drivers make a base hourly rate of $32 an hour. I dont know how mass received that contract with the ride agare companies but I think you should see what your city and or state can do to get that same hourly pay.
Haven't driven in awhile...my best day ever was $300...not the norm though....gross with tips on an average day was $100 to $150. Surge pricing went to crap, you don't get paid for travel time unless it's over a certain number of miles and racking up miles and wear and tear. Not worth it to me.
In Chicago baby bye lol, I literally drive every single day and if I have nothing planned all week I try to drive at least 11-12hrs but moreso 11. depending on where I’m at distance wise from the crib so I’m not using a great amount of my miles and lets note I am renting so $350 already gone be taking off top. In times where I have driven 11-12hrs each day I have been able to make a little over a stack but I have a life so I only do that when I want to but $2000 I’ll never see. And them challenges can help sometimes boost your amount once complete but you also find yourself taking small rides that are like $5 just to meet the number of ride requirements.
The problem is not the migrants, it is that Uber now pays 25% or 30% to the drivers and 70% for them, it is time to look for another source of work and not let themselves be exploited by Uber.
They must work 12 hours and 7 days. I used to do it here in Atlanta but I am burned out. I can no longer be on driver seat for 12 hours. The mental and physical torture has become unbearable.
That's when I drive, before I go to my full-time job. I like it. I stay busy, no traffic until the last hour, and that is when Lyft comes with the hourly bonuses in my market. Lots of airport runs.
I loved hearing that Jay does illegal off the app rides/ friends and family! I would liked to have seen how many miles he drove for that $2k! My guess at least 1.5k miles!? Will Jay Cradeur respond to a comment of a video he posted? I have yet to see it happen!? If he won't engage then why let him create content if he won't ever respond!? Sergio responds to all of my comments.
I don’t see any screenshots, so I’m assuming nothing that you have said is true. But I do believe that you live at home with your mom in Sacramento, you failed at day trading, at trying to be a life coach and a ride share podcaster (the dojo). I have a hunch you’re on Medicare and CalFresh, just a hunch.
I am curious what's your $/mile rate? Since Uber and Lyft most of the time send trash rides, how did you deal with all these trash trips? I think since Harry supports this video, it's made specifically to insult drivers and support the criminal CEOs.
Half hour?? Try over an hour in the 3rd busiest city in the nation, SF. Like a bat out of hell and then nothing, that's how you know they are throttling you. You just have to weather their stupid games

maybe in some cities. and most of the country you have to work 100 hours a week to make two grand. as for the solo app, I tried it. I have a very spread out driving zone in Indianapolis, Indiana with over an hour from one end of the outskirts to the other and the solo app didn't help me in the slightest bit about knowing which township to drive in on what day or what time of day. it wasn't worth the subscription cost.

How much money did you really make. I'm saying: gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, hours away from love ones, health concerns. IDK
Even at one thousand a week, it's not worth it to some people. I've heard of rideshare drivers running off the road because their tired and were driving for too many hours.
Peak Covid $3,500 one week in Philly.
Do you still drive in Philly? If so, what’s your weekly average now?
I made $10k in one month during peak covid in miami during spring break. Those were the days. The infinite money glitch of using area filter to stay in the surge zone and taking $10 $20 short 10 minute rides days are gone. I could make $70 to $100 per hour 😅.
how about now in Philly. What is a good strategy to make 200 every day in Philly today.
So to get your $2K gross now you have to drive 20-30 hours more than your SF shifts?
The main disadvantage about driving at night is the pick ups are further away.
I started driving for Lyft again and this video is really inspiring. I think I'll make a challenge video soon. Thanks for sharing!
Really enjoy your videos. Congrats.
He didn’t show the Uber app week pay out statement. He should’ve done that.
It’s easy to show the screenshots.
Concrete evidence it’s transparency.
If I don't do 1700 plus a 6 day week something off. That's been my average
Word thank you so much! I just got laid off, out all these apps this one has made me the most money, and instacart, i only take 25-50 dollar batches or more
You motivated me and I needed to see this !
I can make $2000 here in Morgantown working 50 hours. I drive at night too. I love it! It's a vibe.
I'm driving Uber and Lyft both for over 4years. I bought new car in 2022about $60,000. My car value from blue book is only $7,000 now.
Uber paying .60 cents/mile in Houston TX. Last night i make 76 dollars in 5 hours. You are talking about $2000 no way
Great, great video and I really enjoy your contents 🎉😊
Yes, if they bring back the multiplier 😂😢
Good video and great job!!
Im definitely gonna try this next week 👏🏾
Is that accepting every single ride that was sent to you by Uber Driver. or did you pick and choose which orders you were going to accept?
If you work in sf how about your prop 22 earnings? I hope you show us your actual app earnings not just a written spreadsheets
Nice work!!
If I am driving for more than two hours I go nuts. I can’t sit still that long and traffic exacerbates it. Feels like my skin is crawling sometimes. Going to find some desperate bar girls over there?
What would that be about $400 in gas?
You drive 70 hours/wk and spend only $100 on gas in SF, CA???? Even with a Hybrid car that's Not true in CA, anywhere!!!
Not even with electric cars
Two years ago I could
Thousand times no
I also love driving at night! There's nobody around.
Maybe a 100$ a day
Was that experiment done in Sacramento or San Francisco?
Not lately and regularly. You could 5 or 6 years ago.
What are you a cop?
@@DanKirschten no Dan - a driver that actually cares that drivers don’t scam passengers into cash or Venmo rides without insurance. No one is safe when this happens. Sorry if this is your business model.
It is bad enough that drivers do this everyday with passengers, yet I did not think it would be included on a “Rideshare Guy” video for how to earn more.
Vegas most rides on strip gets barely $5
Really? I’m about to start driving and I live in Vegas
Amazing for a full time job. Gotta put in the work to get payed.
$30 for this video per hour not including time required for record keeping, refueling, washing, cleaning, vacuuming and maintenance.
In Las Vegas lately I average about $23 per hour for Uber only. Again that on platform time only. The Rideshare gig has definitely gone downhill.
Back in mid June I had my best week gross. $1,712 in 55 hours doing 120 trips.
Massachusetts drivers make a base hourly rate of $32 an hour. I dont know how mass received that contract with the ride agare companies but I think you should see what your city and or state can do to get that same hourly pay.
These numbers look accurate in my market
Mine as well.
In 2024 that is impressive
YES! Phoenix.
Yes. PHX...2000 if you do 60 + hrs. No problem.
Hi Jay, nice video.
R u X driver or XL ?.
Yes you can it’s very easy if you know what you’re doing
I know several people who make 2k+ a week. Some close to 2.5k. It's a major city though.
They must work 12 hours and 7 days. I used to do it here in Atlanta but I am burned out. I can no longer be on driver seat for 12 hours. The mental and physical torture has become unbearable.
@frankelse745 14 hour shifts 6 days a week. Sundays off.
So you mentioned that the city that you're in is a mid-tier.What would grand junction colorado be far as tear wise.
Those are some long and hard days. How much happens from 3 -7 AM?
Absolutely Not! To make $1,000 takes about 60 hours
No. Anyone say otherwise is flat out lying.
Just the idea that you’d have to work 70 hours in one week. Imagine you’re someone who has to do this for a living. It’s unsustainable.
Thanhs! I try for the $300 days, too.
Glad you’re okay after the accident. Get your car fixed soon!
Hell NO 😂 IS THE ANSWER!
Fire everyone and get new apps and new companies .
You had brain for already on Thursday. Freak that. 😂
Tf is this sentance😂
I don’t see any screenshots, so I’m assuming nothing that you have said is true. But I do believe that you live at home with your mom in Sacramento, you failed at day trading, at trying to be a life coach and a ride share podcaster (the dojo). I have a hunch you’re on Medicare and CalFresh, just a hunch.
This is really poor form, Scott. Why so angry? It takes years to develop into a consistently profitable trader. He is doing the work.
I am curious what's your $/mile rate? Since Uber and Lyft most of the time send trash rides, how did you deal with all these trash trips? I think since Harry supports this video, it's made specifically to insult drivers and support the criminal CEOs.
You would have to work like 15 hrs a day to make 2k a week
Half hour?? Try over an hour in the 3rd busiest city in the nation, SF. Like a bat out of hell and then nothing, that's how you know they are throttling you. You just have to weather their stupid games
Literally I just was online for 10 hours and on the street for nearly 12 and made 118. I wish for the life of me I could work 14 hours and make 300...atleast it would feel like its worth it throwing my body away.
4pm-2am and a rando off midday 2 hours cuz I didnt drive 3-6am that morning.🤦🏻♂️
orlando
Have a nice vacation
Houston Texas rates bad omg 😢😢😢 taking half uber and Lyft bad company 😮😮😮😮
What is your acceptance rate?
I make around 700 driving 15-20 hours a week, so hypothetically it's possible but you'd have to probably drive 12 hours a day all 7 days
where is your location and what is your strategy. Does not seem like a bad amount to me
You literally mentioned no strategy whatsoever except hours and times. You didn't even mention if you did Uber and Gryft. What gives?
maybe in some cities. and most of the country you have to work 100 hours a week to make two grand.
as for the solo app, I tried it. I have a very spread out driving zone in Indianapolis, Indiana with over an hour from one end of the outskirts to the other and the solo app didn't help me in the slightest bit about knowing which township to drive in on what day or what time of day. it wasn't worth the subscription cost.
With 3.50 a pickup?.
@@hectorgraneri9 sorry I have no idea what your question is referring to
>> Lyft's team is great....
Lyft is a piece of $hit. Lyft deactivated me this week because of the false allegation that me, I, Myself and mine own self, was not the driver registered to the account. A customer complained that I didn't look like the photograph. What am I supposed to do? No recourse, Lyft takes the word of the customer over a loyal, safe, courteous driver that has a 4.9 rating. This surveillance economy sucks.
Lyft wouldn't even listen to reason. Just policy, policy, policy. A customer makes and allegation and you're screwed.
You can't do it anymore Jay. It's O K it's just reality you have to be psychologically and physically prepared. Just the way it is
No way here in Texas !! No way !!
Lyft should be liars 2400 rides in 4 months elite driver you can't cash out any money until you pay them first and they say I owe 94 dollars and I bought the back early ridiculous
110 rides a week plus some shitty promotions
What % of your rides were surged?
Yeah, if he joined the hackers at the airport, you could make even more
How do we hack the airport
@@troyeastman9500 must belong to organized gangs
Google gang operating on Uber and Lyft platform at airport and read the FBI statements
Up front pricing is not the same before.
Too many drivers, in certain parts of Florida there’s more drivers than ever…. I doubt you can make 1 grand a week let alone 2 …
Were you cherry picking?
This experiment needs to be done in a day not 3am
No 2k a week 😂 you need to be making around 45$ the hour.uber/ lyft drivers make around 25-30$ the hour( in California) not including tips. Something more realistic would be like 1600$ a week yes easy .
