There will be no damage when doing this! Unlike a desktop computer that has an internal power supply that you plug into the wall, laptops just use the AC adapter for continuous power as the total wattage is much less.

I am doing this to preserve the battery life so I was wondering if it's better if I just use the battery and unplug it when it's fully charged or if it won't get damaged as long as I disable it.
Disabling Battery Manager in control panel will only stop the windows service, but physically if you connect charging plug to laptop will still exists a electrical connection between charger and battery, so YES YOUR BATTERY WILL BE FULLY CHARGED in some time, and of course the life time of battery will be reduced. The only way to prevent or care battery is physically disconnect the battery from the main board.
@@CyberSonic157yes! That would be great. Because did you know although some things might work others might not. Like your GPU. The software is programming the battery and GPU to work together. Since the gpus draw so much power the battery acts as a backup to power other things or as a backup in general while the adapter runs and powers other components. The software recognizes that the battery has been disabled and without it the dGPU won't work as it draws so much power. Thanks a lot for this video,I have a question about if I have a internal battery and I won't to remove it I can removed it with the système,and this method will damaged my battery after plugged with a charger
Why is my laptop keeps on turning off even i removed the battery even it's plugged-in in AC?
I have the same issue, did u get the solution
Hi, I have a question. Despite removing the battery from the device manager I noticed that it still got charged to its full capacity.
That's unfortunate. I don't know why the OS can't just sever the connection. @@Kuchuflaz
My adapter is 210w powering a gaming laptop and the dGPU draws like 140wH at peak performance. This might work for a notebook or ThinkPad but not high performance laptops 😢
Beautifully explained. Thank you.
This was a very helpful video. Thank you.
I have a problem, When i disabled the the batter and restart my laptop it will make my graphics card not working at all .
it is safe to use laptop without battery? especially gaming laptop

My Lenovo K14 gen 1 laptop only turns on when plugged in but the screen is black. I see the keyboard lights come on and hear the laptop running. Why please help
Suddenly my lenovo battery isn't charging and refused to turn on without battery... What should I do ? Now there is just 2% charge remaining... I can't dare it to turn on. Last time I checked it showed it's connected to power source but battery charge decreased 5% to 2% in front of my eyes.
i have found that while disabling it and when remove the ac adapter , it will show a pop up in my laptop that the laptop is running on battery , lol, this is not what I am searching , yes if it can just switch off as soon as I remove the charger , makes some sense , because I just want to save my battery because I am always plug in my laptop so,,,,,,,,,,,, any way to achieve it, please mention
I know it does work with out a battery but what I need to know is how to turn it back on after its been unplugged for a while?
I had to take out my laptops internal battery because it was swelling. Now when I use it without the battery it doesn't stay on long enough for me to even sign in
I wanted to remove the battery to see if I had a Ac Power issue and I was stunned - I'm from the old days - when I saw that I had to open the laptop to remove the battery, I immediately thought: does the laptop only work with the battery? but if it was true, I thought it was stupid. Whatever because I didn't have the right screwdriver - the screws were special - I ended up not doing the test. Well, you've just done the test for me and I thank you very much for that! But one question remains: is it bad for the battery to be working all the time when I actually use the laptop as a PC, always plugged in?
My Lenovo U530 is not powering on when I disconnect the battery.Actually my battery is old and dead and when i try to turn on the laptop with charger connected and battery plugged in the motherboard the windows boots and goes back to hibernation as soon as it starts.
Will I have any problems with the laptop overheating if it is always plugged in?
So intelligent, easily understandable. Thank you.
So if i disable it, it's like it's a desktop PC ? (I mean for the battery)
My battery died. It made a weird sound when I plugged it up to a drop cord. Now I won't turn on. I've plugged it up no charge no power? Now what? I'm going to buy another battery in hopes that's all it is. I've never used it with cord plugged in only. But I'm going to need some advice? Thank you it's a Gateway NV7195u
God bless you my man, you answered my question that I had, thanks for the help💪🏾💪🏾💯

Disable battery will make mother board broken?
Hello sir is removing the internal non-removable battery and just disabling the battery in the device manager have the same outcome? What I did is I just disabled my battery from my device manager cause I'm afraid to open the laptop as I may damage other hardwares. Is that okay? Will it work now with just the A/C plugged in and not using the laptop battery? Hoping for your answer thank you so much
No, disabling in the device manager only make the battery icon go, the battery will still be conected and charging. Good video but doesn't include this glitch so basically useless.
Thanks man you just helped me .
I am so thankful for you 🙏🙏
I had my exam and my battery was swollen and I typed on TH-cam can laptop work with out battery 🔋. And first' video was yours . Thankyou very much ❤️ for helping . Lots of love from India
Hi, My laptop shuts down at 50℅ charge. It's been 5 years I've been using hp laptop.
Hp support suggested me to replace the battery. . I'm only using my laptop for attempting mock test for banking exams.
Due to sudden shut down I'm facing difficulties.
Should I replace the battery? Or it's better to use while plug in? If it's possible then kindly need your suggestion.
Just the right topic video loved it ❤😊
Do only disabling the battery from Device manager make it not charge? Please reply me as I don't have the right screw to remove the back of my laptop to remove my battery. Will it work and not charge the battery by just disabling it from Device manager?
so i did this and at first the battery would just come back on without me enabling the option but then the prompt showed up with "restart to activate this feature" or something like that so i did and now the icon for my battery in the taskbar is gone and the laptop still works even if i unplug it, does that mean that the feature doesn't work or that it switched back to the battery automatically?
After doing this I tried to reboot my laptop and now it isn't booting so now how can I enable that battery option ? Please help me out
The original laptop adapter I am using, for some reason incurred a slight increase in voltage..is there anyway in which I can decrease/lower the voltage back to its original voltage..?
why does my laptop turns off after like 50 seconds, the charger is plugged in correctly and noone is tripping the cord to the socket, why is this happening?
when i turn on my laptop without the battery it turns on, but suddenly it shows black screen then turn off and after that it wont turn on no matter how many times i try turning it on.

HELP!! I removed the battery but now when I start my notebook HP an 502 error shows up "CMOS is invalid: the bios will be rebooted" or something like that. I updated everything and setup the bios to default but nothing works. I think the motherboard needs the main battery as well to run the bios... if you know more please help me.
oh man i just used yr guide, ty alot
What if unplugging the battery and just using the charger, the laptop still won't come on? It could simply be the charger? Thanks

finally my question is now answered. I don't want to use my battery , i just want to preserve it for something very useful. it's great that laptop can work without a battery. thank you.
Update? If we keep battery disconnected it's safe?
When I go into device manager for my laptop it only shows "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" but it doesn't show "Microsoft AC Adapter" under the "Batteries" section. Does that mean my Laptop cant run without a battery?
I havent tried unplugging the battery but when I plug in my laptop and I disable "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" the battery symbol disappears and the laptop still works just like in the video
That was helpful video, great work 😮

so after 3 years i think my battery for my Alienware m15 r3 is dying, it can barely hold a charge for about 30 minutes. My question is, do i need to unplug and remove the battery? Because i am unable to open and remove the battery at this moment. And i have no idea what battery would work for it. So can i leave the battery be for now? Or do i have to unplug and remove it?
I have an Avita laptop, the battery is not available for over 2 months now. I removed the battery and tried using it. But the laptop reboots every 3-5 mins. What can be done to make it work properly till the battery arrives?
You may have just solved a two year nightmare for me.... thank you for this post!
Bro i put my laptop battery off then i plug the charger but my laptop was not open and the charging light was blinking can you tell me what I can do now 🙏🏻
