Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Unfortunately the video was marked as private several years ago and I can't call it up any more.

When I was a bit older than Onyx I got the tractor stuck leaving a field. I forgot to unhitch the 50 foot or so of harrows. I backed up and bent the main pole beam like a rainbow. Sunk the tractor to the oil pan.y dad was so angry that I ruined his Harrods. A few weeks later I figured it out. If the tractor fan bend the pole, it can straighten the pole. I put a little tractor 44M right on the pole. Then I hooked onto the far end with the Gen Ii tractor and stretched that pole back out. I was only a kid and dad was off selling for John Deere. He was thrilled I figured it out. Those Harrods always worked great and I learned my lesson about unhitching.

Congratulations on finishing your planting for 2022. Was most certainly a test of patience between the weather and the planter not wanting to work. But you kept at it and done.
Onyx did the right thing by calling for help and not trying to backup and bending something. You and your dad were really good with him about the situation, thanks for doing that.
Onyx, you did the right thing all the way around.
    Good going onyx.
Brings back memories. Can remember when I got the tractor and row cultivator stuck. Walked him and afraid to tell dad. Talking about the cultivator they bolted on the tractor way back when-ha.
Now time to hit spraying. Between you and your dad should be able to keep it rolling. Busy time on the farm.
Seems strange not having your cold storage building in the picture. Hope they can rebuild for you relatively soon. Also hoping your bin storage is not too much out of service for the coming crop year.
About it for now I guess. You all take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.

I still remember a lesson from over 50 years ago. I got our loader tractor stuck. 2wd and front wheel in a small hole and rear wheel on a slippery tree root. I tried for a while and gave up. Walked a long way back to the shed to get help. Dad grabbed the other tractor and a chain and we headed out to pull me out. He jumped on the stuck loader tractor, dropped the loader on the deck and with the right technique he backed it out. Just last summer I was driving the grain truck and got it stuck. I was empty and tandem drives don't lock up and I spun out. I put the hoist right up to transfer some weight from the front axle and I managed to rock it out. A nice teaching moment for Onyx!

I don't have Instagram and don't know a better place to comment but I for one really appreciate Becky being on off the husk. I'm not a farmer myself and she asks ALL the right questions for someone like me to really learn a lot about what y'all are doing.

Awesome parenting Zach and Becky. Those kids are going to be so happy that they have you two as parents. Zach, your parents did a great job also… Becky as I am sure that yours probably did as well. Happy that corn is planted…

Onyx has really been paying attention and didn't keep spinning until it was down to the axels. I know many grown men that haven't learned that lesson.

Onyx is doing just fine ! He's growing up fast and now and can take on more responsibility. Sometimes the nerves get the best of us when we could actually try to get unstuck . Glad you guys finished planting Great video keep up the good work !

Onyx done good; He stopped before it got worse, and didn't risk the machinery with a backing manoeuvre that he's not familiar with. This all comes with experience; way he's going you're gonna be out of a job Zach! Oh.....he'll want a cameraman of course, I forgot !!
    Good lad. Good video. Thanks!

Love watching your videos and listening to off the husk. We just had a disaster ourselves. One of our grain trucks burnt up last week and thankfully no one was hurt and we didn’t loose the crop that was in it.

@@BWYinYang either a diesel or oil line was spraying on the manifold or wiring it was a late 70s early 80s Mack
