    You are really giving me the itch for another HP. I miss the commercial one I bought in 1975, and the mildly ‘smithed HP I had in the 90’s. These are just such a classic.

    Sir I just bought a match Girsan without the tac rail and your video is priceless. I mean to use it for a pure range purpose since I don't know Hi Powers that well yet. But you have really opened my eyes. Gotta love these clones being brought to market now to maoe Hi Power design more accessible to ignoramuses like me. But that raises the burden of responsibility to learn from videos like yours here.

    Thank you, Mark, very much for doing the Girsan MCP35 OPS video!!! CONCERN: I pre-ordered your match barrel, expected in March; WOULD YOU PLEASE DEMONSTRATE HOW TO FILE THE EXCESS METAL OFF THE UNDERNEATH SIDE OF THE FEED RAMP WHILE KEEPING A PERFECTLY-FLAT SURFACE? I don't want to screw up my new BHSS barrel. 😳

    Same issue with front sights. No FO and sight to left. Re-centered and walked out to left after one mag at range. Girsan claims no known issues with sights but happy to sell me a new front!

    The only issue with the Girsan High Powers seems to be the mounting of the front fiber optic sight. Several issues of them going missing after 1st shots has been noted, make sure your rod is mounted properly. Easy to remedy, slight melting front & rear will lock it in place 👍

    I have an issue with the trigger "locking up", Seems more like it doesn't reset. I let out on the trigger again, and it fires when it's pulled without having to rack the slide again. Is this possibly a weak reset spring? I have installed your reliability kit to fix extraction problem.

  • @gunsquawk4443

    I understand you make replacement springs, that's wonderful. But... I have the Springfield and the Girsan Match, I have atleast 1000 rounds through each, with zero malfunctions other than ammo problems. So... I'll call you when I need one, but the factory springs run great.

    so my entire front sight went flying off the other day while shooting (Ops version). I was surprised that was even possible. Now I cannot get the dovetailed sight back completely pushed in and aligned. I noticed yours was a bit shifted over too, not completely seated as well. I have seen several reviews of the Girsan MC P35 OPS and each seems to complain about the reset of the trigger. Would that be effected by the things you speak of in this video, or is that a separate issue?

    • @bhspringsolutionsllc555
      @bhspringsolutionsllc555  ปีที่แล้ว

      Girsan trigger reset is "ok". BHSpringSolutions has a redesigned Hi-Power Trigger Sub-Assembly that dramatically enhances reset without adding resistance on the trigger pull, and ejects the magazines....

    • @Joe5561000
      @Joe5561000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bhspringsolutionsllc555 Does it work on the MC P35 OPS? The reason I ask, is because it doesn't have a magazine disconnect safety, and you mentioned the magazine ejecting. Also, Is this something I could install if I buy the gun, or would I have to send it to you?

  • @44hawk28
    @44hawk28 ปีที่แล้ว

    Otherwise other than my observations here, because you never get into why the trigger is changing on these guns and what the problem actually was. That I would like to know but this is been a lot of help these videos of yours. But I would reiterate that a three-and-a-half-hour trigger would be a godsend on a Browning hi-power and I have fired a couple of them with that but it was always one that had the fulcrum point on the floating sear lever moved like Nighthawk does

      What I did to stop that from happening is I used a tiny dot of super glue on the front of the fiber optic rod. So it doesn't affect the crispness of the end facing you. It looks completely OEM, but that little fiber has stayed put for over 350 rounds so far.

    • @Homecar220
      @Homecar220 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a dab of super glue at the front end of the fiber optic. It's held it in place and doesn't affect the light gathering from the top end or the crispness of the end facing you. I've also heard people use a lighter and sort of heat up the end, then smoosh it with a flat punch or something, so it effectively widens the end of the fiber rod, so it can't walk out. Good luck ... it's been an excellent shooter for me (aside from the front sight issue).

    • @MrSpiker06
      @MrSpiker06 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Homecar220 guy told me super glue doesn't hold up to heat though

    • @Homecar220
      @Homecar220 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrSpiker06 then use a dab of epoxy. The super glue I used held up just fine shooting 350-400 rounds of ammo in about a 2 hour period, between 4 - 15 round magazines. The other option is to heat the end of the fiber rod with a lighter and then press the tip with a flat punch or something to pancake the end, so it can't back out of the steel base. The only way it'll fail is if the fiber optic breaks (which is fairly common).

    Rails, beaver tails, and straight triggers are add ons to try and attract the tweeners who want a Browning Hi Power to be something it's not.
    Akin to jackwaggons who take a crap Romanian AK, and do everything they can to try to make it look an AR.

  • @44hawk28
    @44hawk28 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you're getting more than one shot out of a Browning hi-power with a three and a half pound trigger you don't know how to use a trigger on a high-power. Or on any other gun for that matter.
    In the now just to be fair comma I adopted the Rob Latham method of firing a semi-auto pistol when I first started carry a semi-auto pistol in 2005. Since 1970 I have been teaching people how to shoot, including semi-auto pistols, many Michigan State Police Officers when they transitioned into semi-autos. And for many years I never fired My Double Action 357 and it's Single Action mode. I have plenty of single action revolvers that I shoot in single-action. I don't need to do that with my 357. And I had no trouble shooting for 26 in groups at 100 yards with my double action pistol. But then again I never expected to have any problem. When I started carrying a semi-auto pistol I adopted the Rob Latham procedure which was to completely release the trigger and re-engage it each shot I found that that was a far more consistent shot two shot behavior from the firearm when I did that. Trying to release the trigger only far enough to catch the reset and then squeeze it, is a recipe for the gun not firing the next round at all. And I have no trouble firing the firearm as fast as it can go off.
    I have shot a couple of high-power designs that had the lever Falcon Point changed which does improve the trigger considerably. I have not had that done to my Argentine military Browning which is the most accurate 9 mil I have ever seen in my life. I have had it shortly after my father first purchased it, I have fired a single whole group at 15 yards with this military surplus Browning hi-power. He said sat it hard Chrome, and it is a rock-solid semi-auto which is the only 9mmm I own and the only one I have carried. But I do make sure that I use what I consider to be the best ammo for the job and that's the spear gold.in at least a + b form at 124 grain hollow point. 1275 to 1325 feet per second approaches minimum 357 Magnum velocities and will get the job done.
