Girsan must be listening because I found non of these issues on mine that I bought last week. Barrel lockup is really tight and the bushing does not move a bit.
Great review. Thank you for testing with an upgraded barrel and showing the fit between the two. Hard to say why the factory barrel was like that. I look forward to trying one out.
When I received my Girsan Hi-Power I noticed a very hard trigger pull. I did not like that so I purchased the Cylinder & Slide trigger pull reduction spring kit. It's just two springs; hammer and firing pin for $12. I am familiar with the B&H optimized spring kit and I have replaced all of the springs on my FN Mark 3 but in this case the two springs were adequate and it worked out fine. I do recommend the BH spring tool for the hammer spring because it is a bear to disassemble. As for the third hand tool, that can be managed with a zip tie. I had the same experience with the pistol shooting to the left of the target but strangely, after a couple of hundred rounds the point of impact moved on target at fifteen yards. WOW! I'm a big fan of the 1911 and the Hi-Power. Nothing beats them for their shoot-ability and simplicity of design. The men of FN are imbeciles for discontinuing production of the Mark 3. We all had to suffer the plastic gun phase and learn our lessons.
I think it's hilarious that I touted that this is the best 9mm ever produced , when I bought my Belgian in 1972. Now everyone has finally figured out that we Hi-Power devotees were always right.

I have several 9s such as Luger, Mauser, Glock and a CZ 75 from their custom shop. My FN HP 35 out shoots all with fmj and jhps. I've loaned it to two fellow to take their CCW test, both new shooters. Both shot perfect scores (250) and both tried to talk me out of it. The HP is attractive, sleek, narrow and carries like a dream. I now also have the Springfield and will run a few boxes to see how it compares.
Looks like a possible good alternative to the defunct Browning operation. It would be cool if they would start up a new line of HP 35s and include a "detectives'" model with Full size grip. Be Well.
Opps, the clone Springfield SA-35 and the Girsan MC P35 has be been _trumped_ by the real all *_new_* FN P35 High Power. See Shot Show 2022. Oh, and Springfield Armory - 2nd Amendment traitors got what they deserve.

When it rains, it pours... So we have the Tisas Regent BR9, the Springfield SA-35 and now the Girsan MC P35. I would like to know if it's still worth upgrading the Tisas, or would the money be better spent on one of the other, new, arrivals? I have a NIB unfired BR9 that I finally decided I wanted to do the SFS and other upgrades to. Now, with these new offerings, is it wise to do the Tisas, or should I figure the investment would go further on one of the others? The Tisas hasn't created a bill for Deburring the Slide / Frame / Extractor Channel. We're taking a close look at the metal hardness subject in the Girsan and will be explaining more about this in upcoming videos.
@BHSpringSolutions LLC , I very anxiously await your critical evaluation. So far, this sounds the most promising of the recent Hi Power clones. Question, were the sights swapped out before the barrel was swapped or after? The group wasn't bad before. Was it set at the factory pretty much to point of aim for that original barrel and sights?
Sorry, but I did like the OEM sights. When you have old eyes, that long white ramp helps you pick up the front a lot quicker than other sights. Love SIG nite sights the most, but these OEM sights are pretty good in my book.
Ahh so it just needs adjustable iron sights unless you want to swap out the barrel instead. But even with the bh barrel it did shoot slightly bottom left though so it seems like adjustable sights would be the better fix for precision purposes
Yeah, this would have been some kind of a compromise solution in this particular gun. The question if all the barrels are produced and fitted the same way and all the guns would exibit the same POA remains...
My 1st mag,I had several rounds where they wouldnt fire,,inspecting the round where no primer marks,,I had to totally squeeze the trigger as if I`d brake it,,
Does the girsan also take out the trigger pin from right to left? Been trying to take out my disconnectors but the trigger pin on the frame is totally stuck and won't budge
Can you test the hardness of the frame and slide? I'm very curious to see if the clones are as hard as the FN/Brownings. If you invest in customizing one of the clones, will it hold up like an FN or will it shoot itself loose?
I've heard of quite a few issues with the sa-35 I had high hopes for it and maybe they'll get it worked out. I've always liked the high power I worked in a gun store back in the '80s when you could buy them dirt cheap and I never bought one cuz I was an 18 year old broke kid always had a gun on layaway at the store just never got a high power

Good Questions. The FN is a complete departure from the original design. Girsan's HP is still under-going our evaluation. Girsan's barrel bushing design is similar to all other HP barrel bushing designs, soldered in, considered re-attachable but not replaceable.

I met an industry rep who handled the new FN models at SHOT. They are not true Hi-Powers as such. For instance, they are around 8 ounces heavier than the SA-35 unloaded..
It's a nice gun. However when I took it apart to clean it and went to put it back together the sear was getting in the way of me putting the slide back on to reassemble. Had to play with it to get it out of the way. This doesn't seem normal...
Its funny, I really wanted a hi power, but the prices were pretty high. I found the IWI Jericho 941 instead, they are at least somewhat similar, the price on the Jericho is reasonable and its a great shooter. Two months later all these Hi powers get released. I still think I made the right decision.
You made the right decision. I also have the IWI Jericho 941 all steel pistol. It is a CZ clone. It is very accurate. I can’t see getting another barrel to make a pistol accurate when it should already be accurate out of the box. Maybe later I will get the Springfield version of the BHP but don’t really need to since I have the SA 1911 Operator in 9 mm. That is a very accurate pistol

I have a '77 FN hipower, a Kareen, the Israeli Hipower clone, and a Jericho. They all are great shooters. They all have their own personality, but are a lot of fun
Got both and they are both excellent pistols. Where I would disagree is considering them similar. The Hi-Power is significantly lighter and more compact. I like the feel of the Jericho but it is definitely a different animal than the Hi-Power. What I like about the Jericho is the safety aspect of the first shot in DA, and also the fact that it is +P rated. It also carries one more shot but I don’t consider that a big deal. I shoot both of them reasonably well…but I do shoot the Hi-Power a little better. And the Hi-Power does have the advantage of an ambi thumb safety, an important feature for a southpaw like me. You definitely made a good choice, but if you can swing it at some point down the road, you won’t regret getting that HP, either.

I'm waiting for that one too. Haven't decided if I buy the beretta or HP. I saw yesterday locally the beretta clone and it fits my hand well. Dunno about the HP. But I wonder if it will give me hammer bite like the Star BM, Super B and 1911 I own.

On my FN HP 35 I removed mine years ago and replaced the springs with Wolf Spring Kit, Polished feed ramp, and lightly smoothed all friction areas and installed extra strength mag springs just for giggles. It functions flawlessly, very accurate and with a threaded barrel and suppressor installed is quiet as subsonic. 22 rounds. I've since bought a SA 35 and stripped it down, degreased it and applied SemiChrome polish on slide and frame rails and worked the action 200 times, cleaned and applied light lube before shooting. It saved me money on ammo for the typical 200 round break in.
That's why you look at the front if the slide, they bored a hole to allow for movement. Just another ingress point for issues. Stock spring guide is fine.
Good question. Actually, FN/Browning was first to eliminate the "protrusion" above the barrel chamber and it happened in the late 90's if I'm not mistaken. That protrusion actually never did anything functional at all......hard to believe as that might sound at first. It was a design-carry-over from the 1911 barrel design and it happened on the HP between John Browning's and Dieudonne Saive's final version of the P-35. When that protrusion was removed from the design, it allows for a nice radius all around the chamber opening, which makes much smoother feeding. As you can envision, it's impossible to nicely radius the opening of the chamber if the radius runs into that protrusion. So, in one sense, that protusion DID do "something".....it kept HP barrels from being the smoothest possible barrels they could be until it was finally deleted and a smoother feeding radius into the chamber could actually happen.

Last question, Will you do a video on slide fit when the Hi Power hammer is cocked. I live in a state where I see alot of hi powers and I recently found a Feg that has the tightest fit of any hi power I've ever held, with or without the hammer cocked. I've always felt the looser slide fit does help with reliability, but tighter for accuracy. O and did I mention the Feg is at the only over priced Gunshop around and they want 999$! Lol. That fit though, it's like I gotta have it. Haha.
@@dlife7427 All models of BHAdvanced Barrels do not have the protrusion. Thank you for the video suggestion about the HPs slide to barrel fit. If we attempt that, and then attempt to include all the manufacturers and all the various generations....would get a little mind-numbing probably, and yes, highly variable. Ahead of the importance of slide-to-frame fit: Fresh Springs in the entire HP. Also ahead of slide-to-frame fit: BHAdvanced Components A year ago when my lead shop tech started with us, I told him that all FEGs receiving SFS, the BHAdvanced Barrel and BHAdvanced Trigger.....would have between 1 and 5 Fit-Points.....and the next FEG we serviced had 6. So much about the FEGs and their tolerances are just all over the place....that they contain the most fit points (nothing too major) when upgrading them. AND I HEAR YOU ABOUT THAT SLIDE TO FRAME FIT....on that FEG you found. I've found both FEGs from Hungary, and some FMs from Argentina too, that have slide to frame fits that are almost too good to be true......because they feel so good. Combine that with a BHAdvanced Barrel.....and you can have accuracy that is convincing for sure. Here's one last bit of advice about all HPs when doing a refinish - and it applies doubly-so for HPs with that almost too-good-to-be-true slide to frame fit: Tape the Slide and Frame Rails prior to a refinish and do not allow any metal coating to contact them or you'll never get it to cycle. 🙂 With enough BHAdvanced Components....we can make an FEG function on par or better than any other Hi-Powers ever produced. There is nothing scary about them - and if you do have that insane slide-to-frame-fit......that can make the final outcome even better! When out of the box new, the FEGs contained no defects such as we currently see out of the box with some of the current clone production...... Good subject - Take Care!

More complicated. Check out the single action only CZ75 and the Beretta 92xi also single action (but admittedly not a Browning tilting toggle lock). This is a legal clone of a classic design hence at least in terms of design, well proven. Not sure if it's perfect enough to hit really high round counts, but most pistols don't see high round counts anyway.
Ok I like it so make this gun available to the shooting public, or people will go to the competitor. Same gun- different vendor making all the money!!!
Beware any Girsan products. Their "lifetime warranty" requires you to pay for shipping both ways. The shipping for warranty work for a 4 week old gun was over $100.
@@stoegerstewie8351 I have two and both had issues. My Girsan Regard (Beretta 92 clone) had FTE issues after about 100 rounds. It was a bad extractor which I replaced myself for $20. My Girsan MC 1911 shot 2" high out of the box. I replaced the fixed rear sight with an adjustable one. It still shots 1/2" high but I can live with that.

@@mmisk9547 2 inches high at 25 yards is good for a fixed sight 1911.....in fact very good. By changing bullet weight this can rise more, or drop as much as 4 inches lower----- With 12 different brands of ammo and different bullet weights, you can get an easy 2 inches higher, 2 inches lower, and 2 inches left/right and various other impacts. If you are getting 2 inches high with no left or right drift, you have nothing to gripe about. The fact you didn't complain about group size says a lot as well. If you think 2 inches high is not normal for a fixed sight handgun after shooting only one type of load, you dont shoot much. Even if Girsan had free shipping, they would just send the gun back and say nothing was wrong...because if that was the issue nothing is wrong.
It's not to all, only to some. Many people, I included, have been on the lookout for a Hi-Power. Unfortunately, finding an affordable true Browning or FN Hi-Power is near impossible. So the fact that clones are coming out that we can actually get our hands is a wonderful thing.
@@Capt_Killingfield The original HI Power was a turd design....poor sights, poor trigger...too small safety...too small trigger...poor feed ramp.....no drop safety...you paid $200 for the gun in 1970 and $300 in gunsmith work to make it right......or $600/$900 in later years. The only reason they were used by the military world wide back then is because there were no other 9mm pistols to own back then, except a crappy Luger or inaccurate P-38. We can only hope the newer ones are better.....they can't be much worse.

Sample size of one, but yeah it should be expected a brand new handgun shoot to point of aim. Grouping didn't seem terrible compared to the aftermarket barrel however.
WAY to many "uh's"and "um's" . . . . "when we open it up, uh" . . . leave all the um, and ahs out, try rehearsal in front of a mirror, or record yourself. A otherwise fair review.
So the factory barrel had very consistent groups, but they were all left and low then you put in a barrel that you sell, and it hits bullseye? Makes absolutely zero sense and that’s because it’s not true. You aimed low and left to see how the factory barrel grouped, thinking yours would be superior. You realized the factory barrel grouped just as good, if not slightly better than your own. So you decided to makeup a complete lie
The barrel has a loose relationship with the slide's barrel bushing and the business end of the barrel easily moves around in this relationship - and as we have demonstrated, the BHAdvanced Barrel had no discernable movability in the slide's barrel bushing when the slide was in the forward battery position. Bullets leaving the end of a secure stationary barrel have a better shot at shooting to point of aim than does a bullet leaving a loose movable barrel. And of course, the question of barrel stability in the forward battery position really starts with the relationship of the barrel's lugs with the mating slide recesses at the opposite end of the barrel, where again, the BHAdvanced Barrel demonstrated a better fit to a tighter tolerance - it's not a strectch in the Hi-Power design to associate accuracy with the fit / stability of the barrel, and this literally does mean at both ends of the barrel. IF the bore in the factory barrel is NOT drilled straight - it would not be the first time the world has seen a Hi-Power barrel that wasn't drilled straight and it won't represent the first time that we proved that one isn't - we already did exactly that in 2018 with a factory Tisas BR9 barrel. Now, possibility that the factory barrel's bore may not in fact be drilled straight notwithstanding - the fit difference of the BHAdvanced Barrel in the "Barrel Slide Guide" (our term for what is most commonly called the Slide's Barrel Bushing) is the most likely difference in terms of either barrel's ability to shoot to point of aim. This difference is no speculation - when installed my finger can easily move around the business-end of the factory barrel and cannot create movement of the BHAdvanced Barrel. Now, think about the forces that are at work relative to the business-end of the barrel during the process of the exiting of the bullet.......at that exact moment of the bullet's exit: the virtues of a tight / stable barrel fit that INCLUDES a healthy and correct resistance Recoil Spring that also correctly "tensions" the barrel in the aforementioned relationships and provides appropriate resistance/retarding of the slide's initial movement rearward - these are the exact things and only things that can matter at all when the bullet is exiting the business-end of the barrel. In lieu of your assertion about making up a "complete lie".....I can assure you that you don't need to waste a lot of ammunition proving that accuracy from barrels that fit loose in their hosts is generally not as good as accuracy from a barrel that has a secure fit in its host. I hope you can accept that nobody is pulling your leg here.
Handled one just yesterday. NO hammer bite! Plus, the safety had a positive, on-off 'click' to eat I've never experienced on a stock HP. Very nicel

When the OEM barrel was shooting low left why didn't you just push the front sight left and file it down slightly?

I would have left the factory barrel in while testing. You can always upgrade later if the factory unit still fails in accuracy testing.

I found the IWI Jericho 941 instead, they are at least somewhat similar, the price on the Jericho is reasonable and its a great shooter. Two months later all these Hi powers get released. I still think I made the right decision.

You made the right decision. I also have the IWI Jericho 941 all steel pistol. It is a CZ clone. It is very accurate. I can’t see getting another barrel to make a pistol accurate when it should already be accurate out of the box. Maybe later I will get the Springfield version of the BHP but don’t really need to since I have the SA 1911 Operator in 9 mm. That is a very accurate pistol
@@TheHounddog2343 I just got a Springfield EMP Ronin... It has issues. Hopefully Springfield makes it right, but at the moment I’m not exactly happy with their quality. I also think the Jericho spoiled me... that glass smooth slide is beyond compare.
I have a '77 FN hipower, a Kareen, the Israeli Hipower clone, and a Jericho. They all are great shooters. They all have their own personality, but are a lot of fun
Got both and they are both excellent pistols. Where I would disagree is considering them similar.
The Hi-Power is significantly lighter and more compact. I like the feel of the Jericho but it is definitely a different animal than the Hi-Power.
What I like about the Jericho is the safety aspect of the first shot in DA, and also the fact that it is +P rated. It also carries one more shot but I don’t consider that a big deal.
I shoot both of them reasonably well…but I do shoot the Hi-Power a little better. And the Hi-Power does have the advantage of an ambi thumb safety, an important feature for a southpaw like me.
You definitely made a good choice, but if you can swing it at some point down the road, you won’t regret getting that HP, either.
Of course a day after I passed on buying one. Lol. Hope it's a good review though. Place wanted 600 for the all black model

I'm waiting for that one too. Haven't decided if I buy the beretta or HP. I saw yesterday locally the beretta clone and it fits my hand well. Dunno about the HP. But I wonder if it will give me hammer bite like the Star BM, Super B and 1911 I own.

On my FN HP 35 I removed mine years ago and replaced the springs with Wolf Spring Kit, Polished feed ramp, and lightly smoothed all friction areas and installed extra strength mag springs just for giggles. It functions flawlessly, very accurate and with a threaded barrel and suppressor installed is quiet as subsonic. 22 rounds. I've since bought a SA 35 and stripped it down, degreased it and applied SemiChrome polish on slide and frame rails and worked the action 200 times, cleaned and applied light lube before shooting. It saved me money on ammo for the typical 200 round break in.

It's not really needed in my experience.
That's why you look at the front if the slide, they bored a hole to allow for movement. Just another ingress point for issues. Stock spring guide is fine.

Why does the BHP MK3 barrel have a notch above the chamber and the Girsan does not? I've wondered if browning did that for the lateral play.
Good question. Actually, FN/Browning was first to eliminate the "protrusion" above the barrel chamber and it happened in the late 90's if I'm not mistaken. That protrusion actually never did anything functional at all......hard to believe as that might sound at first. It was a design-carry-over from the 1911 barrel design and it happened on the HP between John Browning's and Dieudonne Saive's final version of the P-35. When that protrusion was removed from the design, it allows for a nice radius all around the chamber opening, which makes much smoother feeding. As you can envision, it's impossible to nicely radius the opening of the chamber if the radius runs into that protrusion. So, in one sense, that protusion DID do "something".....it kept HP barrels from being the smoothest possible barrels they could be until it was finally deleted and a smoother feeding radius into the chamber could actually happen.

Last question, Will you do a video on slide fit when the Hi Power hammer is cocked. I live in a state where I see alot of hi powers and I recently found a Feg that has the tightest fit of any hi power I've ever held, with or without the hammer cocked. I've always felt the looser slide fit does help with reliability, but tighter for accuracy. O and did I mention the Feg is at the only over priced Gunshop around and they want 999$! Lol. That fit though, it's like I gotta have it. Haha.

Thank you for the video suggestion about the HPs slide to barrel fit. If we attempt that, and then attempt to include all the manufacturers and all the various generations....would get a little mind-numbing probably, and yes, highly variable.

A year ago when my lead shop tech started with us, I told him that all FEGs receiving SFS, the BHAdvanced Barrel and BHAdvanced Trigger.....would have between 1 and 5 Fit-Points.....and the next FEG we serviced had 6. So much about the FEGs and their tolerances are just all over the place....that they contain the most fit points (nothing too major) when upgrading them.
AND I HEAR YOU ABOUT THAT SLIDE TO FRAME FIT....on that FEG you found. I've found both FEGs from Hungary, and some FMs from Argentina too, that have slide to frame fits that are almost too good to be true......because they feel so good. Combine that with a BHAdvanced Barrel.....and you can have accuracy that is convincing for sure.
Here's one last bit of advice about all HPs when doing a refinish - and it applies doubly-so for HPs with that almost too-good-to-be-true slide to frame fit: Tape the Slide and Frame Rails prior to a refinish and do not allow any metal coating to contact them or you'll never get it to cycle. 🙂
With enough BHAdvanced Components....we can make an FEG function on par or better than any other Hi-Powers ever produced. There is nothing scary about them - and if you do have that insane slide-to-frame-fit......that can make the final outcome even better! When out of the box new, the FEGs contained no defects such as we currently see out of the box with some of the current clone production......

Arcus 94 is the SA Hi-Power clone.
Arcus 98 DA is a SA/DA dropped into a Hi-Power frame.

More complicated. Check out the single action only CZ75 and the Beretta 92xi also single action (but admittedly not a Browning tilting toggle lock). This is a legal clone of a classic design hence at least in terms of design, well proven. Not sure if it's perfect enough to hit really high round counts, but most pistols don't see high round counts anyway.
It doesn't have a cold Forge Barrel it doesn't have a forge lower receiver

Beware any Girsan products. Their "lifetime warranty" requires you to pay for shipping both ways. The shipping for warranty work for a 4 week old gun was over $100.

@@stoegerstewie8351 I have two and both had issues. My Girsan Regard (Beretta 92 clone) had FTE issues after about 100 rounds. It was a bad extractor which I replaced myself for $20. My Girsan MC 1911 shot 2" high out of the box. I replaced the fixed rear sight with an adjustable one. It still shots 1/2" high but I can live with that.

@@mmisk9547 2 inches high at 25 yards is good for a fixed sight 1911.....in fact very good. By changing bullet weight this can rise more, or drop as much as 4 inches lower----- With 12 different brands of ammo and different bullet weights, you can get an easy 2 inches higher, 2 inches lower, and 2 inches left/right and various other impacts. If you are getting 2 inches high with no left or right drift, you have nothing to gripe about. The fact you didn't complain about group size says a lot as well. If you think 2 inches high is not normal for a fixed sight handgun after shooting only one type of load, you dont shoot much. Even if Girsan had free shipping, they would just send the gun back and say nothing was wrong...because if that was the issue nothing is wrong.

It's not to all, only to some. Many people, I included, have been on the lookout for a Hi-Power. Unfortunately, finding an affordable true Browning or FN Hi-Power is near impossible. So the fact that clones are coming out that we can actually get our hands is a wonderful thing.
@@Capt_Killingfield The original HI Power was a turd design....poor sights, poor trigger...too small safety...too small trigger...poor feed ramp.....no drop safety...you paid $200 for the gun in 1970 and $300 in gunsmith work to make it right......or $600/$900 in later years. The only reason they were used by the military world wide back then is because there were no other 9mm pistols to own back then, except a crappy Luger or inaccurate P-38. We can only hope the newer ones are better.....they can't be much worse.

What good is a gun that needs an aftermarket barrel right out of the box? That’s ridiculous.
Sample size of one, but yeah it should be expected a brand new handgun shoot to point of aim.
Grouping didn't seem terrible compared to the aftermarket barrel however.
I guess moving the sights was too much for them...LOL...

So the factory barrel had very consistent groups, but they were all left and low then you put in a barrel that you sell, and it hits bullseye? Makes absolutely zero sense and that’s because it’s not true. You aimed low and left to see how the factory barrel grouped, thinking yours would be superior. You realized the factory barrel grouped just as good, if not slightly better than your own. So you decided to makeup a complete lie
The barrel has a loose relationship with the slide's barrel bushing and the business end of the barrel easily moves around in this relationship - and as we have demonstrated, the BHAdvanced Barrel had no discernable movability in the slide's barrel bushing when the slide was in the forward battery position. Bullets leaving the end of a secure stationary barrel have a better shot at shooting to point of aim than does a bullet leaving a loose movable barrel. And of course, the question of barrel stability in the forward battery position really starts with the relationship of the barrel's lugs with the mating slide recesses at the opposite end of the barrel, where again, the BHAdvanced Barrel demonstrated a better fit to a tighter tolerance - it's not a strectch in the Hi-Power design to associate accuracy with the fit / stability of the barrel, and this literally does mean at both ends of the barrel.
IF the bore in the factory barrel is NOT drilled straight - it would not be the first time the world has seen a Hi-Power barrel that wasn't drilled straight and it won't represent the first time that we proved that one isn't - we already did exactly that in 2018 with a factory Tisas BR9 barrel.
Now, possibility that the factory barrel's bore may not in fact be drilled straight notwithstanding - the fit difference of the BHAdvanced Barrel in the "Barrel Slide Guide" (our term for what is most commonly called the Slide's Barrel Bushing) is the most likely difference in terms of either barrel's ability to shoot to point of aim. This difference is no speculation - when installed my finger can easily move around the business-end of the factory barrel and cannot create movement of the BHAdvanced Barrel. Now, think about the forces that are at work relative to the business-end of the barrel during the process of the exiting of the bullet.......at that exact moment of the bullet's exit: the virtues of a tight / stable barrel fit that INCLUDES a healthy and correct resistance Recoil Spring that also correctly "tensions" the barrel in the aforementioned relationships and provides appropriate resistance/retarding of the slide's initial movement rearward - these are the exact things and only things that can matter at all when the bullet is exiting the business-end of the barrel.
In lieu of your assertion about making up a "complete lie".....I can assure you that you don't need to waste a lot of ammunition proving that accuracy from barrels that fit loose in their hosts is generally not as good as accuracy from a barrel that has a secure fit in its host.
I hope you can accept that nobody is pulling your leg here.

The only thing I hate about this gun is the fact that it only comes with 1 (double stack) magazine. That's my only gripe!
