Extremely helpful I’ve been wanting one these retro devices but I could not justify the purchase when i have 3dxl but this is exactly what I’m looking for . That gba XP form factor is hard to beat .
I can't seem to get my retroarch to look like this, when changed to xmb I've no icons or toggle on/off slider, just text :( Any ideas? Great channel btw 👍
I just bought one and updated to the latest OS patch. When I made all of the changes for the menu, it autosaves saves everything now. When I went to “save configuration” and saved it manually that way, it actually reset everything.
for the quick shutdown feature...what about for games that use the power button for d-pad/analog stick toggle? Does it affect this? Also, can you remap the d-pad/analog stick toggle to either L2 or R2?
Just be careful disabling shaders. There is an issue with frame rate syncing unless you install a "shaderless" shader. Joey from Retro Handhelds has a great video on it as well.
There are so many options for Samsung and sandisk sd card. Can you make video about the different sd card option. Example, what is Samsung Evo select do? Sandisk extreme? I’m confused and don’t know what to buy?
The only real difference is the card's max read/write speed. For something as light and undemanding on modern hardware expectations as retro games, it's basically irrelevant. Just get whatever's a better deal for you. You're not going to notice a difference while playing. (The only time I've noticed any sort of difference between these is if I'm dumping an entire-ass ROM library of 100+ gigabytes in one go. And even then, how often do you really expect to be doing that? :p)
Did you add any games? Mine was ordered off the website and it seems to be missing the top games like any Mario’s and Pokémon and a bunch of other I noticed in the 20 minutes I tested it out last night. Do you have a video that for game add suggestions?
If you have an SD card reader you can place more ROM files into your existing SD card, you don't have to buy a different one. You can even use your phone to read and write to your SD card if you don't have an SD card reader
Just saw the top 10 videos. Great work. But a thing that was easy to do in other sistems: How to access dip switch configuration in arcade games? For exemple to add blood in Metal Slugs or change the difficulty level in games?! Can't find a way to it anywhere in this machine. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. For some reason, on GB colour, I set it to internal, and it switches only different shades of green with top right shoulder button. Do I have to download these other colours? Update! It turns out I just had the shades set to Auto. I changed them to manual. App centre, apps, shaders.
I just bought the RG35XX SP. When playing GBA games I see a black bezel and GBA logo... how do I turn the logo off and make the game fullscreen so I have no more black bezels? I disable screen overmlay and enabled full screen mode but that didn't fix it. Cheers
I'll never trade the accuracy of mGBA for faster fast forward and all RG35XXs come with Threaded Video ON by default on RetroArch Video settings and that's for weak devices, it increases the input latency and stutters, you can turn it off for everything but Dreamcast/PSP/N64
Thank you for the video! This immediately made me wonder, why don't more systems immediately consider XMB as the default interface, and then instantly launch RetroArch upon turning on? It's familiar for people who have ever played on a PSP or PS3, and also looks great. Does it have to do with power consumption? Or perhaps the fact that it may not look as clear on a 3.5" 4:3 screen?
I think xmb may be more resource intensive, but RG35XX SP can handle it. I agree that it should be the default user interface. It looks much more clean than anything else on retroarch.
I think the reason they don't basically just have it only be retroarch. Is i guess they want to make it "easy" to just get going. And they need some kind of os in place to get network and Bluetooth controllers paired. It's just unfortunate that these stock OSes are so half baked
XMP looks better on larger high resolution screens like the desktop version of Retroarch. It's also more resource intensive which is not good for a portable device with limited battery life. For the RG35XX type devices I prefer rgui.
@@JaviPlayRetro yeah once I put it on internal, it changes but to different palletes of green. All of my game Boy games look green. I can't figure out how to at least get them to look black and white
Hello, sorry for the inconvenience, the xu10 console finally arrived at my house, and I don't know what's happening, it gets stuck on the loading screen, does anyone know what to do?
It is curious because when I try to play a gba game with the core that you recommend it does not work, it does not open the game but I put the gba rumble core and it works. I have installed MuOS and I have the roms in zip format (because in rar I did not read the roms either).

How do you enable analog controls? Like where is the setting. There's definitely alot of learning curve with this. Retroarch is hardcore. It does not even have detail description or help menu. Also everyone says that you can click the power button for joy stick. But that does nothing for me. I'm trying to play n64, I have tried all 4 analog stick options. I've looked under hotkeys, theres nothing I can find. That shows analog controls. I was hoping I just had to enable it under hotkeys and set it to power button. Any help be great. It be nice if they made software dedicated for these devices. They show so much nonsense and even pc settings. Is there a detailed video on how to set up rg35xxsp or detailed retroarch videos with everything explained? No trolls please, genuinely trying to get help. I've emulated on my pc, tablet, phone. But this is just difficult to grasp everything.

Dude, the fast forward in gPSP is very good, but I hate that it starts without the bios, and it's what for me gives that magic touch to this console, is there a way to load bios in the gPSP core and start with the GBA logo?
I love this video, is there a way to add shaders to gba but not to gb? I like the custom gb shaders/colors you showed in the video but I like the pixelization ones gba games. Another thing is when I make a new folder, it doesnt show up in settings.
If you update it it erases the button binds and there no way to easily fix them. So basically when you go into retroarch youll press buttons and it won't do anything
Just double checking, but, by default gba games are integer scaled and scaled correctly to the original gba, right? That is what the gab bezel does, right?
From what I understand when it does that it’s forcing it into the 3:2 aspect ratio, which is what gba is. Since the screen itself is 4:3 like the other rg35xx line of devices, without the bezel or an overlay applied you would have black bars on the top and bottom of the screen to scale it correctly. The only other cheap device now that displays gba full screen without tweaking anything besides applying shaders is the rg351p and it’s because the screen itself of that device is 3:2. But with this device you can’t really tell or see the black borders on top or bottom because of the natural borders of the screen.
@Howlett804 yeah the black bezels on the devices are the way to go. That Grey version with the Grey bezel and red buttons kinda makes the black bars jarring. Also it ruins the gba sp look when using the gba sp overlay
Yea by default when you launch any of the handheld games they’ll have filters and borders on them to make it more accurate (1:1 and 3:2 aspect ratio) so the border is both replicating the original borders and helping force the game to run in its original 3:2 ratio
I am not sure, but I think I read somewhere that it is scaled correctly by default, but not 'integer' scale. Integer scale would be too small, IIRC, but I may be wrong. Edit; just checked, thisnis correct, it is scaled between 2 and 3 x, so not integer. 2* integer would be too small. That is no prolem though, it looks great as is!!
