    Great vid! I've been using gopro since the 3+ silver and the problems with the software are unacceptable imo. My friend has the hero 11, and it still freezes on him multiple times while in use forcing him to pull out the battery to reset it. I'm surprised the data hasn't corrupted at this point. Super glad to see that the action 3 is nearly everything that GoPro should be and for cheaper too. Might be time to upgrade!

    I've owned my Action 3 for around the same time, and I would have to agree.

    Finally all the people that did reviews on these two cameras are starting to see that 5.3K is not the deciding factor when buying an action camera. @@MainJet158 Yeah, I'm using dji on my offroad enduro rides and it's so much better experience than with gopro. Battery life, easy to use with magnetic system and the main thing is that it doesn't freeze and glitches while long captures. • @Khenori
      @Khenori ปีที่แล้ว

      @@godofeternals I don'really know much about the common defects but here are some of them, hope it helps.
      Dead Pixels: Dead pixels are a common issue with digital cameras, including GoPros. They are usually visible as small black or white dots on the camera's screen or in captured images.
      Lens Scratches: The lens on a GoPro camera is exposed, which can lead to scratches or damage. This can affect the quality of your footage, so it's important to protect the lens when using your camera.
      Battery Life: Depending on the model and settings, some GoPro cameras may have shorter battery life than expected. It's important to check the battery life before heading out for a shoot, and bring extra batteries or a portable charger if needed.
      Audio Quality: Some users have reported issues with the audio quality of their GoPro cameras, including muffled or distorted sound. This can be caused by wind noise or other factors, so it's important to test the audio before shooting important footage.
      Firmware Issues: Occasionally, GoPro cameras may have issues with firmware updates or connectivity to the GoPro app. It's important to keep your camera's firmware up-to-date and troubleshoot any connectivity issues with the app.

      @@zakyanwar22 I'm from Valencia, Spain, but the camera has been sent from Europe, specifically from Norway. I don't recommend buying it, as it's quite expensive and you don't know which camera you'll get. Even though DJI assures you that there are no autofocus issues, you may still end up with a camera that has autofocus problems, like it happened to me. It's a hassle - you have to wait for it to be delivered, try it out, then wait to return it, get your money back, and then buy another camera. All of this took almost 2 months, when I urgently needed the camera for work. It messed up a lot of things for me. For less than 100 Euros more, you can get the GoPro Hero 11 Black and have no problems with it.

    Quality is King. GoPro11 wins for me but I would like the additional features to be added to GoPro that DJI Action 3 has. I can’t use the Action 3 because the overall exposure/dynamic range just isn’t nearly as good as the GoPro11 in my opinion. Great Video!
    I am also a DJI fan. I have the DJI Mavic 3 Bundle and they make a great product over time of firmware updates. Unfortunately DJI is known to drop unready products to compete and fix them after.

    • @adventure9606
      @adventure9606 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have neither camera and that's why I am here checking out the reviews. in response to Eben Rogers , ALL companies put out products that are not ready or unready as you mentioned, GoPro, DJI, Apple, Sony, Canon, and the list can go on for days. If they waited until a product was perfect the competition would be years ahead of them. This is why a good company will offer free firmware updates to fix bugs as they are discovered.

    For me, I went down the initial rabbit hole of trying to decide between these two when they first came out. After watching all of the reviews and weighing the options, I ended up with the GoPro 11. The audio and stabilization on both are equally good, and it has been great in terms of my personal vlogs. I really don’t need an external mic to get good audio anymore. As for the mounting system, I went with the GoPro, because you have the option to do the Snap magnet mounts. The discount they had in the beginning got me the GoPro/subscription for $400 total, plus $25 credit on Capital One. I think the biggest factor for me was the overall image quality, from what I've seen, the GoPro quality is much better ( not to mention the focus issue). I had a GoPro7 and an Insta 360 One R, and it didn’t make sense for me to go up to another action camera unless it was going to be much better with the image quality.

    I love DJI and hate GoPro, BUT the Hero 11 is better than the OA3. The whole reason for a camera is to take images so even though the user interface on the Osmo action is a little bit better the image on the GP in all aspects is far superior to the DJI camera. So on a helmet cam you arent unscrewing the ears therefore changing the angle so when you change to a mount on the motorbike down low or to a chest rig or whatever the angle will always be the correct framing. What I like about the Go Pro is that it’s got a recording duration feature where by one can record for 15 seconds or 30 seconds or even up to 5 minutes and then the camera stops recording. I usually record in 15 second intervals (duration) so it works well for me. I haven’t found that feature on other action cams.

    Been a GoPro user for a while, although I never upgraded to the newer models. I had a couple Hero 7's that I used frequently. Both of them had constant issues with overheating, freezing, or corrupting my footage. I used the record button all the time to start/end recording, but from time to time when I pressed the button to record the camera wouldn't turn on. I missed a lot of shots because of that. Typically if I held down the power button for 20-30 seconds the camera would turn on, but still annoying. I finally have had enough and replaced both of them with my first Action 3. After watching videos like this and reading other reviews, I made the purchase and it should arrive next week. Looking forward to giving it a go. Should pair nicely with the Mini 3 Pro drone I bought a couple months ago that I am very happy with!

    That comparison for turning on isn't fair. Yes, the Osmo does start and record almost instantly you've used it recently, but if you were to leave it sitting on the table for a long time and then press the button, it pretty much takes as long as the GoPro. I'm not sure why this is, but it does seem like the Osmo has a sleep and an actual off mode hidden into the camera.

    Great review, thanks. The DJI seems to be a clear winner, except for the glaring focus issue, it looked really bad in the side by side comparison with the GoPro, even when you were walking along the street I could see more detail in the foliage 20-30+ ft. behind you than on your torso a few feet from the camera. I've heard that it's better tuned to landscapes than vlogging but from what I've seen it's borderline unusable to me. Mine comes in a few days so we'll see if it's tolerable. From what I've seen so far I don't plan on returning it. It's a little softer on the face than I'd like but then again I'm now hyper attuned to this due to all the vids I've watched and things I've read. That aside, it's such an amazing little camera. I recently figured out that I can plug it directly into my iPad Pro through USB-C. The size and front facing screen makes it an even better grab-n-go camera than an iPhone.

It's really hard for me to go against all the ease of use benefits for the Action 3, but as someone who has no idea if they will need to swap mounts often, or change setting often, or face extreme conditions often, I find myself going back to the simple logic of what looks better. I do notice better image quality with the GoPro so I think it might be the wiser choice even knowing that the Action 3 will probably be easier to use and less prone to issues.

    The video quality on the GoPro 11 is not just "a little more detailed".
    There is an extreme amount of more detail in the snow and shadows - I'm actually surprised how "lowkey" you put that in as if it was nothing.
    I really want the Action 3 to outperform the GoPro as GoPro really needs a proper competitor, however, it's still not quite there.
    The video quality is of the utmost importance for me, and GoPro simply still is ahead by quite abit looking at your footage.
    I do however, really like DJI Action 3's mounting system. That quick release system is GREAT.
    I dread everytime I have to remount my GoPro on something new.
    I do hope that DJI will overtake as I'm a big fan of DJI products in general. I use their gimbals and drones with great joy.

    Why do all these TH-camrs miss this: 1) Can't use the Media Mod on a GoPro without the battery (95% of the time). GoPro knows now. Fix to come? 2) Action 3 still has focus issues for most people (hardware issue, but DJI swears it's "firmware issue". It's not. Any Action 3 with a Build Date (on the box) from January 2023 and onwards "should" be good. 3) Action 3 has audio sync issues in many of their cameras. DJI support knew about this. Still did not release a fix. Yet. 4) Sometimes a GoPro Enduro battery will charge, in the dual charger, to 96% at stay stuck there and, thus, you do not get a green light (means "fully charged"). - I've notified both parties and....well....we're all waiting for updates. Again. :) PS: Good news with Media Mod- it allows you to simultaneously use an external mic AND plug in power! :)

    You can "turn off" the automatic shutoff on all gopro's (and action). If you turn the camera on first using the power button rather than the record button, then start the recording once it is on, it will go back to "standby" (on, but no longer recording) once you click the record button again. If you use the recordfing button to turn on the camera, it will also turn off the camera when clicked again. If you don't use the record button, it will not function that way...

    As much as I appreciate the features of the OA3, I simply cannot tolerate the poor low-light performance, since I take a fair amount of outdoor sunrise/sunset video, also evening shots/video of live music performance. The images and video (at least on all YT video/stills) I've seen appear dull or excessively smoothed out, rather than sharply detailed and contrasted properly. Definitely and as usual there are pluses and minuses with each, so I will wait for a little while longer to see if DJI steps up their game, going forward.
