- I made this when I was 12 years old with Microsoft 3D Movie Maker animation program in 1998. Mega Man is made and must face all 6 original NES robot master bosses and Dr. Wily himself.
Great MIDI music, and a fun tribute to the original game on the Nintendo Entertainment System, NES, by Capcom.
The order is how I use to play the game as a kid not knowing all the correct weaknesses, so it's fun to see it play out so differently here. Some true ones are referenced here, but some are just what I used playing it the hard way back then on NES. And the looks reflect what I could see on my CRT TV also, though some I had action figures of, so they look much more detailed and correct because of it.

It's fantastic how you had to specify that these two random dudes were Dr. Light and Wily through dialogue. "Wily" deadass says "I am Dr. Wily" when the camera focuses on him and he doesn't follow with anything else, lol
It is very funny. I got tired of the hand made characters, they are very hard to move and animate so I used those for the Doctors. In hindsight they should be flipped, but the Bearded one looked more dark and evil to me. Characters should just say how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

For a 12 year old this is pretty great if you consider alot of 3d movie maker animations used basic models

Honestly, Gutsman was terrifying with the chest banging and the deep voice.
That's why I saved him for last. And I usually beat him last when playing the game because the beginning of his level was hard for me as a kid.

@@M.H.X.139 His image seems the most well designed and recognizable, it's bringing a lot of people in to see this so I am happy. I had an action figure of Guts Man so the 3D model here came out nice since I had reference. The rest I had to go from memory since I didn't have my NES anymore at the time in 1998.

I appreciate the use of "Streets of Desolation" from Sunsoft's Batman game, very good song. The way the magnet beam was used is also quite cool.
Wow yes, I love that Batman game on NES and always want to use it's music. No one's ever mentioned the Magnet Beam thing either, glad you got a kick out if it.
This has the vibe of "the props used to look better but the paint wore off"
I use this old animation program from 1997. It's weirdly dark and has a vibe and look, that's for sure. It fits when I do these older game stories in my opinion.
@@MBX3D yeah what i meant to say is how they look like action figures that the pieces have came off, and you had to hastily re-glue them where you THINK they were (speaking from expirence)
@shadowchasernql That makes a lot of sense actually. The way the program works, I can not attach any pieces. The bodies are all loose shapes. Each part must be animated. So when they move, each upper arm, lower arm, eye, mouth, head, torso, ect has to be moved by itself. They are unglued in a very real sense.

@@shadowchasernql Yes, only a few shapes are included to use, so anything else like an L shape uses the 3D letters you can make. You have to be a bit creative to get what you need. Plus there are only a few colors to use as well. But I like the restrictions to work in.

From the funny, yet simple animations to the music, this was quite a interesting presentation! I was merely being generous with my rating. Well, extra generous! I don't know how to describe it, though. I find it wholesome!
It's strange but people weirdly like it. I just made them for myself way back in the day before there was much Internet. Anything new I make like the Mega Man 2 ending I try to keep the same low tech style and sound.

It amazes me anyone does. I just made it for my own amusement way back then. I had hoped to make up to 6 but they were TOUGH to make.
Those brief seconds before a new track starts are utterly horrifying
MIDI files always had the pause at the start, and they didn't have to. Who ever made them put some dramatic pause at the beginnings. You had to be careful which you used or see if you could get it playing early. But with 3D Movie Maker you could only have 1 active at a time.
Now I feel old looking at these. I recalled watching something like this thanks to James Rolfe's old videos. It was called 'When the Shadows Lay Darkest'.
3:35, you made Cutman cool in this video. Something a lot of media tends to overlook his abilities.
Yes he must have had this program also. I think I wanted every boss to be a lengthy fight but started cutting to get it done instead, but Cutman got his full fight scene.

That's one of he premade characters in the game that is WAY easier to animated than my custom characters. Mega Man and the others have to be animated piece by piece. Each upper arm, lower arm, foot, leg, torso, everything on the head, eyes, mouth, each piece of helmet... So I must have felt lazy and just used that guy for Dr. Light. You must have missed Wily at the end then...

I really only had the NES game to go by which doesn't say much about the story, so I had to make something up when I made it before I had Internet fully in 1998.

It's really cool that you've gone back and touched these up some, but part of me is really sad that the original videos have been privated and are unviewable - is there any chance you'd be willing to at least make those videos unlisted so they're still watchable? Not that the new edits are bad, I just have a soft spot for the way they were originally. No worries if you don't want to, obviously, just thought I'd ask!
I'm hoping to get this channel monetized to inspire me to POSSIBLY make more or new videos, such as more Mega Man stuff in the style and feel of these old ones. So I need all the views on this channel for it. Maybe down the road there could be an old school upload or something. I was kind of like George Lucas back then and always opened up and edited my old projects, so the upload was just as it was in 2006 when first posted. This is the way it is because I was still messing with them even after 2006. I was still making movie maker stuff after that year, but mostly wrestling stuff people may not care to see.

Back in 1998 when I made them, yes many nights went into it. Just in animation, not counting some outlines of fights, order of events, character design.

What is the music that plays at the weapon get sections and that part of the cut man battle?
The NES Batman first level music I believe. There wasn't a weapon equip or "You Got" song in the first Mega Man game like in the rest. And I always loved that game's music. I'd love to make a Batman animation some day based on the NES game, great music and I played it all the time.
The intro and ending are new to me. When were they made?
TH-cam only allowed smaller uploads way back then, so they have always been there but had to be cut for TH-cam. Now they allow any time length upload.
@@MBX3D That makes sense. It was back when episodes of stuff like the Mega Man TV show had to be split into three parts each.

Skipped him for plot and my god animation was not easy with this program. But maybe, if someday, Mega Man 3 had a Yellow Devil boss.......hmmm....someday...

The old upload? Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" But it it copyright warnings, so I went all Mega Man music where possible.

Yes I had to make a new channel for just my animations, plus this is the full version with the ending and beginning intact. TH-cam had an upload time limit back then in 2006.

I had to make a new channel for it because TH-cam is unable to handle mixed video types. But now here they are in the best quality I could capture them, and I even made an ending for the unfinished Megaman 2...

That's all I had back when they were made in '98. All the videos on this channel have SWEET midi music choices. Don't miss the Mega Man II one at least.
I remember watching these as a kid in ye olde days of TH-cam.
If I remember correctly there were a number of differences: magnet beam was called laser lasso, the weapons get was a MIDI theme of street fighter, the cutman fight had SM64 boss music among other differences.

Yes all correct. I always opened and modified the movie files after, so after that upload way back then I was always tweaking or finding better MIDI files. Plus there was a time limit for uploads before so this is the full movie now.

Skipped the big bosses in my story. There was also the copy robot and such in the game fortress. But Yellow Devil would have been a cool fight here.

Elec Man looks like that because that's all I could tell from my little blurry TV on the NES back then. I never saw his real drawn character picture or clear pixel version. I made an upgraded appearance in the Dr. Wily's Revenge animation here though.

I would love to do one just because of the music, and I also played it a lot alongside Mega Man games back then. If I can get the channel in a good position it let's me have that freedom to do what I want. So watch and support how you can!

It was from one of those old Sound Effects CD's that use to be in stores since there wasn't much on the Internet back then. I can try to find it some time.
@@MBX3D I am having trouble adding the voice clips to the movie because I have no download button or anything to add it to my movie.
@@NovaAnimations365 Yes there was no feature for it. I had to record the sound of the computer. So you can use a screen recording program to capture the sound. Extra work but you would need to make it WAV format for movie maker anyway.

@@NavyScoper Way back then the Sound Recorder program could do it, now I would use OBS to record the sound as the program played. That's what I used to capture the animation out of its program, neither has export so OBS can record your screen and your sounds.
