- 3D retro animation based on the 1991 Nintendo Game Boy video game "Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge." The first of the Rockman World series of Game Boy Mega Man games. Made with the 1997 computer program Microsoft 3D Movie Maker, vintage CGI animation aesthetic.
Set after Mega Man II, this animation follows the video game story of Dr. Wily using old Robot masters of the first two games. It's my own take on the story with added elements of characters and drama. It's in the aesthetic style of my old animations I had made in 1998. I completed the unfinished Mega Man 2 story, and this animation continues that story.
Great MIDI music, retro style aesthetics animation, and a fun tribute to the original and classic Mega Man video games of the 90's.

this kinda feels like a what if "pre super genesis wave" scenario for the mega man comics, where it was clearly a loose adaptation with desgins based on sprite misreadings and the occasional peice of ongoing us media, later being replaced with their modern/canon designs later on
Yes I am leaning into just seeing the sprites and game cut scenes and not knowing the full story at the time of playing them in the 90's. And doing my own version altogether. It's no accurate remake for sure, it's own thing.

The story here reminds me of the book about Mega Man 2 that James Rolfe read.

Aw, I love that you dove into Mega Man’s backstory and motivations. I also like Roll’s body language. You didn’t copy and paste her movements from other characters; instead, she moves and acts like a gentle but courageous young lady.

Since the Game Boy game didn't have much story I took the time to explain my weird version of the story. And it was a good chance to use Roll more and showcase her a lot.

I was happy to get to add Roll in since the real game didn't have much to work with anyway. It was a good way to explain why she didn't always go with him. If she is popular from this one we could see her suit up when needed again.

Seriously, this is a HUGE step up from your previous projects. I definitely have a good chuckle and the action is just stellar!
Oh cool, I wanted to keep the same style but can do a lot more now of course, years of experience with it. It's a balance of what is worth spending the time on when it's suppose to look pretty retro and old school anyway.
So I'm glad you can tell it is a lot better, but it still fits in with the old ones pretty well also so people can watch them in a row still. And I'm thankful someone got the humor too!

Everyone used them back then so I wanted to keep that style; downloaded them all to choose through. Make is sound very 90's.
I hope we see more of Roll fighting alongside Mega Man at some point.
I thought the Mega Girl idea looked pretty good along side Mega Man. She may get to suit up again if needed.
I like how you added Guts Man and Bomb Man as surprise, additional “bosses” after Enker is defeated, holding Roll hostage, even if those two are dealt quickly thanks to Roll’s cleverness and Mega Man’s Fire Storm. Adds a nice sense of drama.
If I do future Game Boy game movies, the missing bosses are in all those, but not those two and I know people would love to see them again so it made sense since I added Roll to the story already. I'd hoped people would appreciate their inclusion.
THE RETURN OF MEGAMAN honestly i love the action and the new models i like how you even had the old ones in parts in the trash and the story is a actual continuation from the last one i love this
I took the opportunity to use the Game Boy game that is set after MM2 so I could set some story points and get to redo the classic bosses. And it was also light on story itself so I was able to add in Roll to give her more explanation and such, and I always liked the idea of her in a MEGA suit.
This is amazing. Roll's inclusion makes the story really good, the fights are amazing to watch (even using correct boss weaknesses), and plus the jokes are pretty funny, especially the pants joke at the beginning and also heat mans "Ow my nuts" got me really laughing.
Overall, I respect how good this ended up being, probably took a really long time to make. Good job!
It was a few months of daily work yes. I was in the unique position of having done MM1 and 2 in the past, so I could have jumped to 3, but I did this instead so I could show the old robots again, have Enker, and also give Roll more character and involvement. Plus it let me explain my weird version of Mega Man as a child robo-cop or something. I thought it up as a kid but I'll roll with it to make my version unique.
Still more story than the actual game 💯
The sparse story of the game let me slip in some more info about my versions of Mega Man and Roll, and let me do the Mega Girl thing that wouldn't fit in most of the other game's stories. It was fun to include her.

@@Gyrokun She could suit up again if it fit well. I wanted to explain my weird choice of making Mega Man human in the first animation from way back, so she needed to be a part of it.
I like your videos this animation looks so good. But thats a shame dr.wily die in explosion. If he managed to escape from his space station, there would be a Megaman 2 GB animation and Quint would appear there. that would be good.

This as awesome! I wasn't expecting to see another one of these, and The models have definitely improved across the board both for the robot masters and the Wily Iron Golem mech. The Castles and the fact that you even kept the internal machinery/skeleton during the weapon get screens was impressive.
I am trying to keep them in line with the very old ones but sneak in the improvements. The re-use of bosses in this Game Boy game let me redesign them some. I was glad the x-ray effect worked also.
Wily looks like more Dr. Light than redhair Dr. Light.

It's really interesting how people's different nostalgia is activated by these, I guess the old look and style covers a lot of ground which is great. That's what I hope to happen. That's fairly close to the time also, 2006. Movie Maker is only a few years before that.

Now I want a two player game with both Mega Man and Mega Girl. Or single player with choice of either.
I always wanted a co-op also. The Mega Girl appearance is based on the CAPTAIN N episode that had "Mega Girl." It always baffled me that she was never in the games that way after seeing the cartoon.

@@siyahseeker But I kinda liked the Mega Girl name since we didn't get the Rock and Roll connection in the US names until hearing the Japan names way later.

Seems like it's been done already. Maybe if I do some short videos instead of long entire game episodes I could do some jokes and such. I'd like to keep a story going through though.

Somewhat yes, I didn't want to blow them up to dust so they could at least go do their real jobs as they were intended. We could see them more if the story needs them also this way.
Why does the midi password theme slap hard though 😮👀
There wasn't many tracks to choose from this game but the password music really helped fill in the action, it's really exciting sounding like an action track.

@@Gyrokun I was stunned when I was playing the game and went to the password screen the first time. I knew then that I would using it in a cool way for an animation.

@@DevinPlayzYT2007 The robots in my version are surprisingly more human-like than you think, and will continue to become more like humans as time goes by.
It’s great to see a return of this! I’ve always wondered why you used the bearded model that looks like Dr. Light for Dr. Wily rather than Light himself?
Yeah they seemed swapped now but since they are like that in the first I just stuck with it. I think the beard guy looked more mean, and I used the other guy too often as a bad guy in my other movies. I may find a way to just use handmade versions of them, but it may be better to leave them so they all match together.

Mega man 3 next
In Classic game order, Mega Man III is next. It was a nice opportunity since I had only done 1 and 2 that the Game Boy game is set after those two, but before MM3. So I got to clarify some story bits in my version here, and have fun putting Roll in. So the plan is for sure to do Mega Man III.

That seemed to be the theme of the Game Boy games, repeat Bosses.
But I know people loved seeing them again, and redesigned.

Quint is from the next Game Boy game that is set after Mega Man 3 on NES since it has some of those boss robots, so I would have to get through Mega Man 3 first.

The x-ray seems like a very deep exoskeleton display, so I doubt any outer body features would show; they are all deep inside parts shown.
